Clark Howard, I don't know if you'll ever see this message since your video is a year old, but I wanted to tell you THANK YOU! I was paying way too much on insurance for being such a seldom driver. I couldn't find a company so I decided to check TH-cam for ideas and this is a company I went with and I'll be paying a little over a third of what I was. ♥️
Mile Auto has been okay for me so far, but only because I don't drive 3 specific vehicles. The only pain is that they do not have an online payment portal/account for customers & their policies are on Auto-Pay. Also, you have to take pictures of the odometers every month. but at least they haven't sneaked in any silly hidden fees and they are less than any other insurer. I appreciate you introducing them to me.
@@Fuerya I'm still with Mile Auto since they've been the best deal for me. I actually tried to get one of my brothers to sign up with Mile Auto, but they aren't available in Lost Wages, NV where he lives.🥴
@@Fuerya Yeah, it would defintely be worth checking out if you don't drive much and if they cover your area. I only pay around $39 per month for 3 vehicles which is much lower that I was paying for Progressive. Back in the day, TX didn't require people to have insurance, just when you got a vehicle inspected. Things changed over the past 7 or so years.
In California, mileage plays a significant role in premium determination. Typically, you'll receive an annual mileage form in your renewal packet. It's crucial to complete and submit this form to your carrier, even if your overall mileage hasn't changed. Failure to submit it could result in the carrier making an adjustment of approximately 800 miles annually. While it might not seem like much, this adjustment could translate to a difference of a couple of hundred dollars in your auto premium
I know that accidents went up during the pandemic because the people that were driving, were driving much faster on the roads because the roads were empty. People had the space to drive as fast as they wanted. But, are the accident rates still up today? Like in the last six months?
@@lizadivine3785Atlanta natives do this crap also especially these kids. They don't have nothing and don't want responsible people to have anything also.
Hmm my insurer (infinity insurance) asks me to update my miles and my driving situation every year . They don't have me take a picture of the odometer . I presume they base part of cost to insure on the miles driven .
I have USAA on 2 vehicles. I ran the calculations on Mile Auto. I could save $420. a year, but, I have to question; would it be worth the risk with respect to Customer Service and Claims..?? USAA $163. per month, Mile Auto $128. per month based on 8500 miles per year. Is the additional $420 a year a burden? No.
While the pay-per-mile concept may seem appealing, I recommend against it. The calculation of monthly amounts is a convoluted process. If you prefer a consistent bill each month, this option may not be suitable for you, as your billing can fluctuate, resembling the stock market. This is particularly relevant for New Yorkers who enjoy driving to Florida for the winter and covering extensive distances.
I had Metromile and they used to have a cap on the number of miles charged per day. I think it was 300 per day. You could drive 1000 miles, but only be charged for 300 that day.

Video cut off before end at 4:51. Would like to have heard the conclusion regarding customer service and claims.
So didn't I and I was cussing quietly to myself when the main part was cut off.
I work from home so this would work for me! Florida

Do they insure homes because all of my life I have had a combined home and auto coverage.
Consumer Reports ranks insurance companies and I think that should be main source of information when selecting a company.
Driving aggressive? Why because of anger of injustice? Less time. More costs. Energy drinks and junk food. Stress!

You state the obvious 😂 it says recommended for people that drive less than average. The bill is not hard to figure out if you can do basic math.
