Wow! Nikon is back! A few years ago... people were forecasting doom for Nikon. I always liked the color rendering of the Nikon much better than Canon and especially Sony
I think the doom risk is not yet gone, too early to judge 🙂 The problem is that Nikon became good only for their topmost two expensive cameras, which many (pros and hobbyists) don't need or don't want to afford. For some (e.g. wedding photographers), large and heavy camera bodies are distinctively disadvantageous. For many hobbyists (esp. those landscapers who like hiking) (or who want to be more inconspicuous in cities) as well. Unless Nikon SERIOUSLY trickles down goodies from the Z8 to their neglected but important middle class models, to become more competitive there finally, they are still candidates for long-term doom 😱(or at least for a continuation of their current market share loss). The other (somewhat related) problem with Nikon Z is, that they almost only invest into their expensive top-tier "S Line" lens class. For that, the same is true as said before for the Z8/Z9. For example, many portrait/wedding pros want 1.4 lenses as their sweet spot, also for acceptable weight (to carry for many hours). 1.2 is simply not acceptable for them. 1.8 lenses on the other hand are not really a substitute for missing 1.4 lenses, neither.

Hei, best regards from Norway. First of all, I want to thank you for everything I have learned from you. The love you have for photography and the world of photography, is quite unique to me. You are doing a great job. Thank you very much!!! What makes you quite unique to me, is that you always have these philosophical conversations. And you do not mind to reveal mistakes you have made yourself. Like we all do (Like in one of the latest videos from you I really enjoyed ,where you had a conversation about influencers - or as I call them, madluencers). I feel you are down-to-earth and into what worries and occupies photographers Great job
The r1 was always intended to be on an Olympic year, which is when they always released the dx series. They released the 1dxiii in 2020, when the Olympics were supposed to happen. And then it was clear when the r5 also came out that year that they were working to transition into mirrorless and leave the dslr behind. That would leave a normal thinking person to realize they are intending to release the r1 in the next Olympic year, which is 2024. That fits with their flagship trend. It just makes sense.

I was happy to see the Canon R8 do so well, since I bought one a couple of weeks ago to replace my older pro-level SLRs. Thanks you y'all!
Historic moment...haha You guys are great...Love watching!...And I have the Z8 too!
Great winners and I hope all the best for Nikon!
That phase one camera goes in a rig like an enlarger, and digitizes slides and negatives.
Haha 😂this was gold, thanks you two! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
You should have martinis before every podcast. That was the most relaxed and natural I have ever seen you guys. Absolutely brilliant 😅👍👍
I could have totally skipped to the last 5 mins and know the winners.. but these guys make it so fun to watch. Not just funny but fun which doesn’t hurt head! Awesome episode 🎉
Great video... Enjoyed it a lot!
Ok, I did what you said and poured a whiskey. I don’t think I kept up with you two. Great video. Glad you had fun.
I watched the drone time lapse video! I'm not even really into drones, but I thought it was neat.
Waited all year finally. Loved the show. Have fun
Keep giving Chelsea drinks (makes fun content while I'm at work) , what's an dodgy olive between friends!😂
I really enjoyed your video and I agree with the amazing work that Nikon has done with the firmware updates. I wish all the manufacturers would put that much effort into improving their software and user experiences. Repeat the format but with fresh Olives...
I love how tight these two get by the end of the video lol
Enjoyed seeing you guys enjoy the drinks and having fun. So nice to feel like I’m spending an evening with you guys.
Great Show, as always 🎉.
You two are lightweights 🍸🤣
Oh-also-weren’t those two “accessories of the year” (the af adapter and magnetic filter kit) released like 2 years ago by different companies?
Love this video 😊👍
I got my ZF in a week, it’s great. Just a slight delay on my 40 lens, but got that too. Great fun guys!
Hi Tony and Chelsea! Thanks for the video. Could you make a comparison of the Dji pocket3 and m43 cameras? The pocket 3 looks like a stable camera with good image quality so I’m wondering if it’s on par with my m43 cameras and if I should sell my 9mm 1.7.
Tony showing us how he landed Chelsea 😂
Great job! love you guys.
Great show. I love the chuckles. Thanks.
This was so much fun that I'm already looking forward to next year's installment. Maybe there's another olive in the fridge that will be "ready" by then.
Thank you so much and keep in doing what you're doing.
I was happy to see the Canon R8 do so well, since I bought one a couple of weeks ago to replace my older pro-level SLRs. I've been surprised by how sophisticated cameras have become in the last decade; I feel like it's taking the photos now, rather than me. It's a bit like driving a car with lane departure detection or collision avoidance for the first time... a bit weird until you get used to it I suppose.
Chelsea was on fire in this one! Great content, folks.
