Yep! They use them when going out depots to avoid hearing damage from using the real typhoons (horns) :-)

@@Thedanishrailfur nah they don’t unfortunately. Just loud horns (the new Avelia Liberty has a 2 tone). Neither in my home country of Australia
@@locomotiveproductions We have depot whistles in the UK! The Eurostars don't have them unfortunately, but the Javelins, Aventras, Electrostars, and MPV's have them!

Why train horns like car horn
They use the car horn when they roll out of depots most of the time
Its to give the workers around there a heads-up without deafening them with the actual horns haha
