The number zero was only recently agreed upon after centuries of debate and disagreement. I am still not convinced that zero is a real number as you can never reach zero. It is as illusive as infinity. If I gave you a goat and told you to divide its meat until you reached zero. That process will never end. You will cut the meat to the smalled particle, and cut a million times more, and you will never reach zero. Without comprehending these facts, I find it questionable how you now claim the Gikuyu knew zero, and used it in their everyday vocabulary. My understanding leads me to the mystery that zero was avoided as the "adu ago" knew how divine and mysterious this zero was, to the extent that the 10 clans are only mentioned up until the ninth number . Can you elaborate on this. Thaayo Thaayo.
thanks for your contribution. kindly note the channel is for learning everyday Gikuyu language as it's used today in the current set up of our community in urban and rural areas- the mathematical accuracy of zero not withstanding. i think dividing is not like deducting. if you subtract you'll arrive at zero to represent the nothingness of what's left after deducting everything.
More videos, please ! I am watching these from Japan !
👍🏾thanks a lot, working on them. All the best in Japan!
Alot of similarities with oshiwambo dialects spoken in northern Namibia, Bantu languages are amzing!
Omilongo ndatu is 30 in oshiwambo.
Omilongo ndatu na imwe = 31
This is amazing. Please add more similarities for all of us to learn together.
