There are a few different swimming pool equipment control systems available. The Attendant by Poolside Tech appears to be the most versatile and user friendly smart control system I have seen. This system is amazing! It has the ability to communicate and control any brand or model of swimming pool variable speed pumps, single speed pumps, pool heaters, salt water chlorine generators, lighting, LED lighting, and practically any feature or equipment you may have on your pool. This is a real "Intelligent" system. The Attendant controls up to 5 valve actuators, and makes them smart actuators. The system can calculate different settings on the valves for different pump speeds and feature control. It can run several pumps and variable speed pumps, lighting circuits and color LED lighting circuits, chemical feed systems, and much more.

I am amazed that pool equipment, and pool automation systems are so expensive. All the valves open and close with simple DC voltage, Lights are now LED and can be controlled very easily, variable pump likely have controller communications link either serial or IP interface. Automations for the home are extremally cheap now days, why hasn't the pool automation systems come down in price?

I agree. It's ridiculous and a total rip off. A remote controlled drone has more complexity and these days cost a fraction of pool automation. Its certainly not rocket science.

@@atanasiomartinez as a pool service owner, I wouldn't have automation on my personal pool (I won't own a pool after spending years servicing them.). I do however make bank installing these systems so lazy people can turn their hot tubs on from their phone while out eating dinner. I typically install systems ranging from 3k-5k. Most people aren't handy enough to boil water. It is a joke that average people would attempt this install.

In short because it is a function of supply and demand. Only people with deeper pockets have pools. Industry kinda knows this... Demand is high, equipment is limited as there are only a few companies making the raw goods. The skilled worker it takes to spend 8 hours installing isn't cheap, and there aren't many people who know how to take this project on. Supply, demand.

This seems a home pool controller, doesnt seem any commercial pools will be using this.

It is fine for either. But I do see it as more of a residential product.
