Omg. My heart skipped a beat when I saw HIGHLIGHTS!! Ohhh I haven’t seen that magazine in ages. I loved it as a child. Ashley, this is fantastic! I’ve taken all of your courses and they were a wealth of information and the perfect guide to get my girl through 0-3. She just turned 2 and I did purchase the fall and winter mega bundle. I feel like there is SO MUCH I can use already. Thank you for that as well! As for this video… I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Seeing the dedication you have towards the Montessori movement, love for your children, your family, and the fruits of your labor (granted, your children are magnificent on their own but let’s be honest, you’re laboring!!!) you’re making me want to quit my career for a substantial amount of time so I can dedicate my entire life to my daughter. I may be unloading on you right now but giving up work (though I’d practice from home) is such a sacrifice for any woman who has worked so hard to get to where they’re at! I’m sure many women including yourself can attest to this. I just feel that there is no better teacher than a parent and if I gave my sweet girl 0-6, even the exosphere isn’t her limit; like your girls! I’m struggling with this but I have a year before making a decision! Thank you for arming me with knowledge every week and molding me into a better mother every day! I’ll be referencing this video several times over the years. You rock! ❤️
Can you do a video on the what the different classic Montessori materials by age group? For instance, what are the materials that are typically used for a 2 year old? Thank you!!
This video is perfect!! Also gives me piece of mind since we’ve been eying Montessori by Mom for a while & my daughter loves that Montessori workbook, I actually have her trace the letters with red or blue glitter glue to match her sandpaper letters and give it a tactile feeling once it dries, she has a blast with it! I’m so excited to try out the reading program with the downloads!! My daughter has sensory processing disorder & some learning disabilities as well so I enjoy having a try before you buy option with her. Future video suggestion: Montessori math work!!! Being a former high school teacher I’m super worried about her falling behind in math during homeschool especially since it’s not my forte but I love the Montessori approach for math learning just would appreciate some more insight

Thank you!! This list is amazing. I’ll be coming back to it as we go through this first year of homeschooling for my 3 year old. Can’t thank you enough for all the info you provide 💗
Aaaahhhhhhhhh my hopes to be as organized as you and as efficient with preparing the right materials for my girl as she grows is strong and definitely a good thing i think but daaaang the panic i am feeling right now looking at what it takes is also overwhelming and i hope gradually i get used to taking time to prepare everything according to the standards you have given me hope for maintaining. What's happening question: what kind of music do you listen to in the car and/or in the house while the girls are around? Kid-friendly music or anything you and Mike like?
Will you also touch on this what to do when parent's choice of music isn't kid friendly? I basically almost always have a kiddo at home and miss blasting music in the morning to get my day started that's not kid friendly 🤷🏻♀️

I have been a Montessori parent for about 1980. Parents should prepare for a transformation in their life. It is not a push-over thing for your child. True dedication is the main factor for the child's education and is prepared that you are leading the creative mind of the child to be different from yours and be independent. The child in the future will emerge to withstand any storm that is encountered. Test your interest by acclaiming yourself with her philosophy by reading her books available at any library. One tip about reading: Read "The Gingerbread Man" to the toddler several times a day with pleasure, sitting in a comfortable chair with the child without making comments on the story! One single book.
I love all these resources! I’ve been looking for a gift for my friend who is Montessori-ish with her sons. That box from Montessori by mom would be perfect
Thank you for this awesome video, Ashley! We also just withdrew our 3.5-year-old from her Montessori school and I’ve been seriously considering the homeschooling option w/NAMC. Relieved to know it’s not just me making these huge transitions/choices- what a time, eh? :)
Awesome tips and info Ashley (even for foreigners // French speakers)! You are so inspiring and such a role model as a mom and a (Montessori) teacher… and there is so much hard work behind all these advices and videos!! Thanks a million and if I may: don’t forget to be sweet to yourself too and also no need to apologize/justify if you decide to invest in ressources XYZ - we respect your decisions and there are all yours !! Love (and much admiration) from Paris 😘
You are incredible 💜 tbh this just confirmed my feelings that I am just not up to homeschooling my children 😅 Definitely considering Montessori school for them if it is an option (but given availability and cost, not sure will be), but if not I definitely plan/hope to include some key/foundational Montessori activities and toys etc as part of their weekend play etc alongside their 'regular' schooling. Montessori by Mum looks awesome! I also love that playing outside can be such a big component of their learning 😊
I share your same sentiments, although I think I can homeschool, but I think my kiddos are fed up with me lol. But that’s the beauty of Montessori, it can be so easily implemented at home, without much interruption, especially easy to implement through Practical Life lessons
Loving all your montessori videos here in the UK! I'd love to know how you encourage Kylie to take part in a 'lesson'. Do u have a structure/routine of when you are doing lessons and the topics? I feel like if I did that to my 3 year old she wouldn't be interested. Following her lead would be playing imaginative play with her animals all day long!
My daughter actually did a similar thing for me, when I was out. She noticed the washing machine switched itself off so she took out the laundry herself :D
I'm so excited about your homeschooling journey! 🤩 I'm following my child and he seems to be a natural unschooler 😂 😂 😂 but this mama is trying to keep him Montessori style 😅. I bought some albums from Montessori Tube Academy and I'm very pleased. But, again, my kid is wild and free. 🙈😅
I've been wondering lately how much it would cost to homeschool from 3-6, if someone wanted to do it totally authentically Montessori. It does seem like there are a lot of materials, but so many can be made. This is really helpful!
Explaining the concept of a Montessori "curriculum" isn't easy 😅 But there's still a progression of what materials should generally come after the other, extensions, or how they may be used together. Our teachers had their journals from their training days always available for reference, even the ones with decades of experience. Because there's not a straight curriculum, I think those resources, or that NAMC homeschool resource, are so important. After all....we need the prepared environment AND the prepared adult 😉 I'm curious what you decided to do about zoology/geography? Like the land form materials, the (endless) maps, parts of all the animals/insects/flowers. It's such a wide and varied area that can become almost a black hole for homeschooling - SO many materials and options. I'm really hoping that in the next 20 months we have fixed the state of things but just in case, I'm keeping homeschooling as an option on the back burner. These are all incredibly helpful resources!
The NAMC materials actually provide DIY templates for making a bunch of those resources, especially the geography flag/continent studies and nomenclature materials (not all of the zoology or botany puzzles, but there’s at least one world map puzzle template and DIY instructions that I recall seeing when I flipped through everything).
Thank you so much for the Montessori Me idea! I was doing Lovevery for my 3 year old, but this is better for Montessori at home. Those materials are wonderful!! I may try 6 months.
I am actually excited for you to be homeschooling your little one ! We are homeschooling too (but not strictly following Montessori. We use also Waldorf and CM elements)

@@loracorwyn3713 that’s so awesome! I agree. Growing up the stigma was homeschool kids were “awkward” or “weird” but the older I get the less I think this way. I’m planning on homeschooling as well once my girls are older.
As for our family, we were doing it before the pandemic. But it only makes sense that, with this pandemic, more people are homeschooling their children. In France, they decided to restrict homeschooling because of the increase of homeschooling families! The government believe that it is due to an Islamic movement power (extremism), when really all kind of people are doing it (all faiths) just because they want to protect their children from the pandemic. And for the record, the very own French government study on that "assumed Muslim extremism" has been released ... and it is all fake. They could not find any families like that, not a single evidence, etc. (sorry ranting on this because we are a mixed family, Saudi/French)
@@thedimaggiosfamily No, we are in KSA right now but heading to France for Autumn and Winter. Basically, we decided to live in between both countries as for now to care for both sets of grandparents.
am very impressed and thankful with the whole resources you have shared in this video. I am a mum of 25 month old boy and have joined your online course. Your course has helped me a lot and got results. My son likes to watch your vlog and enjoy watching Mia doing silly thing a lot. I would love to homeschool my son one more year but he is VERY curious about going to school. I should say he is VERY outgoing and friendly type enough to shout out "FRIENDSSSSS!!!" and run to the other kids in the park whenever he founds one. Also this is what I have to fix soon but it seems like he sometimes gets bored to spend time alone. He's an only child. So my husband and I are planning to put him in a kindergarten next school year. I'm a little bit worried how it would affect on him. At least, the school is Montessori-ish. They don't mention anything about it though. I'm saying this because our place and the way most people think are a lot different from ours. Homeschooling my 2yrd son was already something controversial that my husband had a hard time to talk to his parents. * We are from Japan and educational fee are covered by government so most working parents are happy to put their child to school from 12 months. There was an incident I'd say the other day. I was with my brother-in-law and he was talking about how his 4 yrd son started to swear at home and school. The father was worried about it but he felt relieved right after he saw other kids swearing when he visited Open Day. When I heard this, my heart was totally for homeschooling. But like I mentioned in the beginning, my son desperately NEEDS/WANTS friends. The school we are planning my son to enroll is allowed only limited numbers of students. We might loose a chance to let my son enroll. In that case, I have to decide whether I put my son in a local school and hear him swearing or homeschooling and watching my son screaming for FRIEDSSSSSS!" *Of course ha has some friends to hang out with. FYI I am also a working mother. Now I'm working on a big project and to be honest, I need time for it too. Not midnight nor dawn...You know what I mean.... I'd like to hear what you'd do if you were in my situation. Thank you, Love you ALL!!!
Hi. I would say: if you want to homeschool, go for it. Homeschooling doesnt have to equal no friends, although it does require some effort from the parents. I go to friends/family with children, we are enrolling our oldest in gymnastics and when she will be 4 in a few months, she will attend Sunday school. I also want to meet with other homeschoolers, but I don't know many yet. Not sure what you meant by "fixing it" when you were speaking about friends? As for your question about I think you'll have to ask himself ;).
@@marie-louiseweerheim4224 Thank you for your warm comment. it really needs a lot of effort to do home schooling. My son has friends to hang out on weekends. But it looks like he knows that most of kids have friends-all-the-time. Sometimes when we play outside, he gets the chance to see preschool kids taking a walk with their teachers. Almost all the time, he grabs his backpack and tries to follow them! Luckily, he was accepted to the school we want him to enroll. He is going to school however we are going to give something that we , HOME, could nourish for him. :)
Thank you so much. The Waseca reading program is new to me, but looks like something I’m looking for especially since it’s based off of the Orton-Gillingham Method. I have heard Orton-Gillingham works well with special needs students.
I'm overwhelmed but so happy you posted this. Thanks for sharing! I've been struggling with my toddler keeping his attention on the materials due to only wanting to play with toy cars so he grabs parts of the materials to put in his dump trucks and often doesn't seem interested in the other activities. Should I remove his toys from the area where I have the work shelf? I'm hoping to send him to monstessori preschool soon but not sure if it's going to happen this school year. I feel he should be learning a lot during this time but often doesn't find interest in my presentations. I loose him if I tell him it's my turn first then he can try. I feel a bit overwhelmed with it all.
I am a fairly new subscriber. I am not doing Montessori at home or anything, but I still love your vlogs and all your resources! I have a 4 year old. A few vlogs ago you mentioned Mercy the pig books. My son absolutely LOVED them! Can you recommend more books similar to these that you've read to Kylie? or her most recent favourite books?
Base 10 blocks are just like the golden beads, but are often much cheaper. The only difference is that you can’t decompose them. Cuisinaire rods would also work for the smaller bead sets.
Hi Ashley. Thank you for this video. I find all of your videos extremely helpful. My question is: How would you approach using reading resources in a bilingual home? phonics, letter sounds, syllabi are different (english vs spanish) and i want my daughter to be able to read both languages but I do not know how to approach it without being confusing for her or overwhelming for me. I Hope my question makes sense. Thank you.
Hi, with all the resources you mentioned, how is a typical day of homeschooling? How much time is devoted to each area of study, as well as work of practical life skills and outdoor time? I learned about Montessori years ago before I had my daughter. I have loosely implemented the Montessori method working my daughter. She loves learning. Where we live we dont have Montessori schools. She is just 2 weeks in, in a traditional school. Can one do Montessori at home and have the child go to a traditional school? Thinking Montessori would be supplemental.🤷🏽♀️
I'm trying to decide between the waseca program and the NAMC. For the upcoming school year. I would get the Waseca reading program and the Waseca biomes program or the NAMC. They are both a big investment, it's very hard to decide. *Can you give me your thoughts on which one is better? *Can you talk about the Math portion of the NAMC you are using or give a flip through of the math? Thanks for you great uploads!
Ashley, you are awesome. I just enjoy your channel now for so long, and i got so much out of it. Thank you so much. Do you know by any chance if the set from the beginning with the reading cards does also exist in different languages? We are from germany, i never heard of sth like it =) thanks anyway
Pls do reply. I have been following all ur videos since my child was 6 months. My child made a lot of progress that way. Thank you. Two questions My child is 25 months without a siblings. How to teach him socializing skills while homeschooling. The only reason I would want to put him in a school but fear of pandemic. Second, pls specify more learning and activities for 25 month old. I'm living in India.
Have you tried the abacus? I found it easy for my toddlers to count the numbers like the beads but doesn't take as much space, and my 3 year old daughter can do addition so easily now , i recommend it, but don't know if it's the best way yet
Thank you so much Ashley! I am also homeschooling my 4.8 years old girl. I'm looking forward to be certified in Montessori 0-3 and 3-6 since I also have a 2 years old girl and waiting for our 3rd baby next February. Do you have any recommendation about it?
Thanks for sharing ❤️🙏I have questions? How you choose book for reading ,if there something that you think is inappropriate for reading how you wold explain to kids ,and if it’s possible can you share those books that you read every day ,and favorite books of week or month ,thanks
Hi Ashley! Can you please do a video with activities for toddlers. I have a toddler 3 months younger than Mia, is there a possibility of you making a video? Like the ones you have about Montessori activities from 0-3, 3-6, etc etc… I think the last one a watched was for 2 years (I’m not sure but was with Kylie) do you already have one for activities from 2 years to 3? Maybe I missed it :(
Hi Ashley, as 'the wonder weeks' is science based and there are some elements that crossover into montessori, such as skills they are working on developing and recommend toys apparatus for this. Just wondering what your take on this is. Is this something you took into consideration when Kylie and Mia grew into toddlers and how did you overcome the fussy periods?
Hi Ashley, if i just want to homeschool my 3 year old in a montessori way, not to become a montessori teacher, is it enough to just buy this NAMC program? Do i need extra training beside this program? i have been informally learning about Montessori method, following your channel, reading books and blogs from other montessori teachers, now i come across the time to decide if i need formal training to homeschool my child. so i really appriciate your help here!! A big thank you to you in advance!
Hi Ashley! I'm curious, is the NAMC 3-6 homeschool program shareable between 2 families to offset the cost? Or is it a single use item. Along those same lines, if I buy it for my older son, would we be able to use it again with my youngest? Also, if we plan to continue beyond age 6, do they have a homeschool program for that age range? As always, thank you so much for all of your informative content...not sure what I would do without it!
An amazing video with so many learning resources... Great job Can you recommend any Montessori set of books for 3 years old ? I have taken admission in school but haven't got Montessori school for my 3 years old.. I keep on investing on Montessori resources which my child likes to do at home.. I am looking for books/curriculum for her if you can recommend? Love from India 😍
What hapaning question! Was mike already on board and familiar with the Montessori approach you decided to take with your girls or did you have to encourage and educate him in taking that approach? How did y’all get on the same page if it was something new for him?
It did, unfortunately (edited to add - last year she was only doing remote learning through the school for a few weeks before we pulled her out, so her only “real” experience with school thus far has been the few weeks she was in this year before our Covid scare). It was a REALLY tough decision that we really didn’t want to do… But the good part is that she’s totally into it and loving homeschool. :) We included her in the discussion before we made a decision this year, and she was 100% on board. So I don’t think she feels any negativity toward the situation at all. ☺️
Question regarding Kylie's future schooling plans: covid permitting, and I kinda heard you mention that her school for kindergarten doesn't require payment - do you plan to keep Kylie in a Montessori school pass kindergarten? Do you plan on transitioning her to traditional school?
Yes, she said in this video that the school Kylie attends is public Montessori school so K-8 they don’t charge a tuition for those grades just the primary level

FYI
I am also a working mother. Now I'm working on a big project and to be honest, I need time for it too. Not midnight nor dawn...You know what I mean....
I'd like to hear what you'd do if you were in my situation.
Thank you,
Love you ALL!!!
This is such a helpful video! Thank you ♥️
Thank you so much.
My question is:
How would you approach using reading resources in a bilingual home? phonics, letter sounds, syllabi are different (english vs spanish) and i want my daughter to be able to read both languages but I do not know how to approach it without being confusing for her or overwhelming for me. I Hope my question makes sense. Thank you.
Love you’re channel so much
Thank you so much for all the resources and information! 👏
Thank you for this. Could you do a video of using some of these resources?
Something that I was looking for today... much needed 😍
Can you please do a video on suggestions of educational TV shows or apps? We don’t usually use screens, but when we do I don’t know what to put on.
Do you know if NAMC has resources and materials for bilingual language learning? Couldn't see if they did, just clicking on the link through YT.
Which of these resources have you started to implement with Mia? Thanks so much for sharing, very helpful video!
You are the best! Thank you
Ashley, you are awesome. I just enjoy your channel now for so long, and i got so much out of it. Thank you so much. Do you know by any chance if the set from the beginning with the reading cards does also exist in different languages? We are from germany, i never heard of sth like it =) thanks anyway
Great video!! Thank you!!!
Pls do reply. I have been following all ur videos since my child was 6 months. My child made a lot of progress that way. Thank you. Two questions
My child is 25 months without a siblings. How to teach him socializing skills while homeschooling. The only reason I would want to put him in a school but fear of pandemic.
Second, pls specify more learning and activities for 25 month old. I'm living in India.
Are there parks near you or other public spaces where children play? That's a great way for kids to learn to play together/take turns/etc.
Do you have to have degree in child development or pedagogy etc, to have a training?
This is such a helpful video! Curious if you have any thoughts on the Multisori M3 homeschool curriculum? Thank you so much!
How do you keep track of all these subject learnings and make sure you cover them all?
Great job
Can you recommend any Montessori set of books for 3 years old ?
I have taken admission in school but haven't got Montessori school for my 3 years old.. I keep on investing on Montessori resources which my child likes to do at home..
I am looking for books/curriculum for her if you can recommend?
Love from India 😍
What hapaning question! Was mike already on board and familiar with the Montessori approach you decided to take with your girls or did you have to encourage and educate him in taking that approach? How did y’all get on the same page if it was something new for him?
They have a video called Montessori at home: My Husband’s Perspective that answers your questions :)
Ashley that as Absolutely Awesome
Hi! Ashley, looking beautiful.
Hi . In ur vlogs u have been mentioning abt some course u doing on zoom.. what course is it can u share if its ok with u
Hello, how can I do homeschooling for my kids, should I apply to school district?
I had to look at the date. Didn't this same thing happen last year. Poor Kylie.
Her school is K-8 so she will continue in her Montessori school, beginning with kindergarten.
Hi,how can I buy fall bundle?
Do you still like the program you purchased for your toddler? I am interested in it but wanted to know you do you like it so far?
What’s Happening Question -Do you have access to a public/free Montessori school in your area? Please share more!!
Yes, she said in this video that the school Kylie attends is public Montessori school so K-8 they don’t charge a tuition for those grades just the primary level
Did Kylie ever show no interest in learning for an extended period? If yes, how did you redirected her to get back to learning again?
COOOOL 😻🤙
Do you have any resources or tips for doing Montessori at home with a child with Down syndrome?
Have you definetely decided that Kylie will not go back to school until next fall instead of rejoining school sometime this year?
What about her peers? Does she have any friends?
💙
