I answered straight 10 questions in 1 AFSB Dehradun as "I don't know sir" and yet was recommended for 118 NDA! Be honest , be fair and stick to your strengths , don't beat around the bush.

As i started being aspirant for defence, I am here to learn stuff, but yeh i could understand that man's pressure. But yes the key take aways from this interview
- Dont beat Around the bush
- Be clear with thought and knowledge of specifically terms, Knowledge and particularly numbers
- Your vocab can backfire ! Use the words in manner of making other person understand in short and crisp way
- Your body language and para communication should be mastered
- Have an answer sync within the words of the question asked and don't cross the line of subject
- Have a sense of time while speaking. ( Best way i practise is storytelling at cafes Max:- 5mins )

I know it's too harsh for someone who is struggling but that's how it is bhai. I am sure it will help atleast others who generally start without any idea as to what is expected out of this interview and what is the real purpose of it. Then only someone genuinely can present his real personality there...

i remember having my interview just after GTO in the white dress and the experience was woww, i was asked 10 questions at a go and had to answer as many as i could remember

He is simply not prepared, he is not even aware of his own city and not able to describe things despite being asked straight. Next, when he is trying for 03 yrs he is still not aware of basic details of his aimed career, which shows his casual approach. On GK side also he is very much confused which shows shallow knowledge and preparedness and finall indicates lack of seriousness. Personal front also the candidate in my opinion is not even good at grasping the situations. He mostly beating around bushes despite being given straight questions shows lack of clarity of thought. Subjective knowledge also he is below average despite being given a simple calculation as a Maths student. Frankly saying a below Average performance. Most likely be Not Recommended.

What I observed from the above discussion, it could have gone in a better way but that guy himself dug a well and it was that running part from where the interviewer got the clue about the pressure handling situation of a candidate, to be candid all i would say that guy was not competent enough to answer confidently.

Speaking decent English is the most important asset any candidate can have. And no, i dont mean that one should be as fluent as Sashi Tharoor. But this guy was just blabbering. Classic example of how a random Indian speaks English. "Umm, ahhh, urrgh, umm".
And this guy doesnt have a basic understanding of the thing he says he is so passionate about. Is it that hard to remember transport planes.

This is not the roasting of cadets but the harsh truth which every cadet faced in real interview, I faced this and I knew that there is no problem in questioning of IO but there is the lack of knowledge which I felt when I was answered in my past interview in 19 SSB ALLAHABAD

Please take out the distracting material from your interview room like flags, banners etc. Keep it simple as it is there in SSBs. There is specific reason - The candidate should not get distracted/disturbed by any unwanted object.

@@MukeshYadav-cc9gnwhat suggestions would you like to give to a candidate who has got 4 months left and is done with written examination's preparation and wants to focus on his ssb from now only, considering he belongs to a small town in Bihar and has got education from below average school.
@@gravity.inescapable I believe that it's not about the average of the school but it's about individual personality and outlook and his sincere efforts that will matter most. For daily basis if he work on his personality and specially how to put forward his views than 04 months is good enough time.. SSB has almost a set pattern unlike any other exams which consists of vast material and subjects. So first he need to understand the requirements and then see where he fits in today and wherever it's lacking he need to work on those areas. Individual interview is the easiest task, as far as understanding the SSB is concerned and one need to be aware about himself, family, friends, life, city, his education standards and overall outlook towards each important incidents in his life till the time of interview. This is not the way an IO starts the proceedings. You get acclimatised made comfortable then the proceeding starts. Drastically different
I have been to ssb and it is not necessary that you are made comfortable by the IO always it can start like that also even my interview was like that
