It just shows it takes teamwork to make it all happen and that everyone is working hard all the time . Keep up the good work and that is what makes championship. May our Lord be continue blessing you to safe travels everywhere you go.
Awesome video. Drivers move America 🇺🇸 Compared to Lance Scott i am "just a truck driver". There is definitely a lot more to being a truck driver for HMS than just driving. Much respect. Lance is right the hard part is occupying your time for the 11 hrs while driving to stay awake. Stay safe brother! Keeper between the lines!
Lance definitely seems like a character! He is so poised and confident. Definitely a big teddy bear! I heard he could sing a great Morgan Whalen song! ❤😉
Great video and to see a guy from Sussex County Delaware having a job like this is awesome! Lot of respect for what Lance has to do other than driving. If people knew what's involved in his position would make them realize it's not a cakewalk. Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
I’d Bet these guys are celebrities of the trucking world. I can’t imagine the trucker envy at truck stops when these dudes pull up. I’m hauling the #5 race car!!! Talk about pride. I mean, I would fan boy if I saw the HMS haulers. HMS is THE gold standard.
I don't think they spend much time at a truck stop, fuel, maybe food when needed and brake and bathroom. Races that requires co drivers that's probably driver change when stop to eat at night and morning
Hope this gets to were it needs too? I used to haul fuel. Would a segment on how the Sunoco Driver gets Race Fuel at the locations? He probably has an escort to card in/out after loading? It would give the RaceFan a behind the scenes experience. Mike R. 3/88
Done this for 8 years with a dirt track team always the first one to arrive at the track and last one to leave. Its definitely not for the faint hearted. 1000s of miles every week. Months away from family and friends. Eating not the healthiest food. Deadlines. While the rest of the team fly everywhere and stay in hotels. Can get burned out real fast.
Actually, not as much as you’d think. Not many truck drivers get paid what they truly deserve given how tough the job is. In 2012, the average salary for a NASCAR hauler driver was only $38,000/yr. That’s barely more than what you’d get paid working a retail job. That was in 2012 though. It’s probably slightly better now with inflation and higher cost of living factored in. Still not even remotely close to what they should be getting paid though.
@@ryanmorrison3699that statistic is highly skewed. The top teams are paying much higher wages + bonuses, living costs, ect. Much of those stats you find on Google take part time teams, teams who have multiple drivers, lower tier teams like arca and the modified tour into account. These guys are paid well.
I thought most of these teams had at least 2 drivers per hauler. Raceday for these guys is long cause not only do they gotta work the race but then, they gotta clean up and drive the hauler all the way back to the shop afterwards depending on where they are, if West coast swing then onto the next track after the car switch but even then. I could understand if they'd get burnt out after a few seasons...
Yeah, I'm not sure TBH... I first thought it was ZXU but that didn't make sense... 🤷 of course ZXL1 doesn't exactly make 100% sense either considering it's a Camaro ZL1 so I'm not sure what the "X" is supposed to mean but I'm sure it's got to do with the Chevy Camaro either way lol
Get your foot in the door with champion tire and Wheels the hardest working people behind the scenes from driving Air tightens to pit boxes and pit carts getting hauled to each race and moved to the wheels and even the gas for the impact used for pit stops and whatever else equipment teams need moved
HMS, I really hope you pay your hauler drivers well. For many years, these guys weren’t even making 40K for this excruciating work. The trucking industry still doesn’t value drivers anywhere near what they should.
The bad part is having to wear their underwear backwards cooking and cleaning up after the rest of the team. So important they put a Freightshaker under his butt to show their appreciation.
Any one who thinks this job is cushy doesn’t understand NASCAR racing and the grind of a race season these guys make stick and ball sports teams look like pee wee league
Being a 4 million mile Otr driver I can say I was never impressed with nascar haul truck drivers, most arrogant and full of themselves people I’ve met, You guys are no better than any other truck driver on the road and are a non essential part of the industry.
Hauler driver is racehorse of the team? You might be over estimating your worth. You're job is important, but racehorse of the team? That might be a stretch.
Lance definitely seems like a character! He is so poised and confident. Definitely a big teddy bear! I heard he could sing a great Morgan Whalen song! ❤😉
Worked at Hendrick for 14 years until retiring, greatest job I’ve ever had.
Very intetesting. I didn't realize they did all the side jobs- filling gas cans, generator, drinks & ice, etc. Important job.
That was an awesome little documentary of what it is to be a part of an elite racing team. Can we please get more of this content
Yes you can! Check out episodes 1-8 of the On the Road series for more!
@@HendrickMotorsports Any chance we can find that #5 Valvoline Trucker Cap? I want it.
Thank you Scott for everything you do. Once again great video cant wait to see the next one.
So good!! Loved this episode!
Bravo!!! What a great video!!! Love it!!!

Well I enjoyed that, love the money wagon name, perfect. 🏁
There is no race without them big rig drivers. Stay safe and much respect!

Wow that was awesome!
As a truck driver myself it a dream to do this for a living
I am so happy for people that get to do what they live and make a living. 🙌🏽🎉
Great job Lance

So Cool seeing behind the scene video's!!! All those men & women work hard at what they do!! Love NASCAR!!! GO BLUE CAR!!!! LOL
Thanks for peak behind the scenes. Question: what are popular brands and models of the train horns used on NASCAR haulers?
What an amazing company with amazing employees! Let’s go #5 & #24! Hopefully Willy B can win and move on to the Finale! 🏆🏁🌭
What a cool dude. Makes it look easy
I would LOVE to have this job!!!
Way to go man. You gotta love it.
Much respect 🏁🏁
Was fortunate to be at Vegas for the Kyle Larson win this year...The Hauler...he's a winner also.
Thank you for this content more of this please 🙏🏾 let’s go yung money 💴

You guys go non-stop. How do the drivers get a 34 reset if you're logging all the time you're working at the track?
Hopefully they get paid well for all their hard work.
They do

As usual. If a trucker wheels not turning nothing gets done. 🚛 Are needed around the 🌎🌍🌏
Wonder if those trucks get messed with by highway patrol or toll stations?
YOU'RE Awesome, brother!!
Come on...
:)
Why is there 23 11 on his polo shirt? The black hendrick shirt?? Seen this at track at daytona and was so confused?
That's not 23X1... It looks like ZXL1... so maybe for the Chevy Camaro ZL1? lol

I think you can figure it out with Google maps.

Be safe out there
I would love to do this
Can only imagine hours involved
Truck driver episodes would be cool
Wonder how all that work at the track works with DOT rules ?
Wow amazing dam hard dedication god bless 🏁🏁
So uuuummm when do they rest in between races?
Awesome
Living on what they pay you is the key, and “they” will always pay the least of whaat the market will bear! Greed knows no boundary

Money Wagon for Yung Money fits.
Money Wagon.
Badass
Wheres all tha Lot Lizards?!
January 2025 will mark 19 years driving experience, think they will hire me to drive for this team?
The shameless plug for valvolins
Sign me up. Would love to be a driver

Sure are beautiful ❤️
