Almost every servant in the original Stay Night dies. Cu's death isn't something he experiences more than other servants. In fact, Herc is the one that holds the record for most deaths since the man literally brought extra lives to the grail war. This is all because of Carnival Phantasm convincing people that Cu is the ultimate butt monkey when in fact he's almost hyper competent. Even when he fought Archer and Saber, two servants with massive plot armor, he still pulverized them without getting touched while still "losing".
@Veneser Aban lancer under Kirei is statistically almost at his weakest, only higher than his caster self. Kirei actually runs two servant contracts and isn't supplying well to both. He circumvents it to a degree for Gilgamesh by feeding him orphans. There's also the issue that Kirei doesn't have that much mana. You've seen what servant he previously used to empower (100 face Hassan). Herc keeps killing Shirou and Saber because they face him more often and get themselves killed doing something stupid. Archer comes with the tools that can specifically bypass Hercules' defense. Herc might do better against Gil without Ilya there, but Gil would specifically search for and target Ilya anyways because he's literally been targeting anyone he can find while they're at their most vulnerable. Gil literally sneak attacked Medea of all people in spite of how weak she is. Gil would absolutely fight pragmatically against another servant (only being taken off guard and countered by Avalon in the Fate route).
Hey, at least in both Fate route and UBW route he died in badass way. Unfortunately not in Heaven's Feel. I guess in Anime and VN instant death works properly XD

I think the weirdest part of his exclusion is the fact that he actually was a PART of the Grail War this event is centered around, NOT FOR VERY LONG, MIND YOU, but he was THERE at least. Medea and EMIYA are NOT.
Funny thing is I used my one time full ascension on Cu without any knowledge of his role or who he was cause I never watched any of the anime at the time. I just chose him cause he looked cool and he's Irish like me.

I got Cu this last summer, then kept on getting copies to level up his NP to the max, so I went all “Heck with it, my blue doggo deserves the best” And went with it. I’m now twice grailed up on him, working towards level 85. He’s saved my skin throughout the main story line, I want him good and ready for the lost belts. He’s definitely worth leveling up.
Cu is secretly a 4* and unkillable Ive been playing for 2 years and I just realized that Cu is really good. Just wish I got him Leveled when fighting both Heracles in Agartha and berserker of El derado
Mans literally better than any Lancer in the 4 star group despite being a 3 star. He's literally a nuke alongside Artoria Pendragon ( Saber ), Enkidu ( Lancer), and Ibaraki Douji ( Berserker )
Advice for young players... When his dmg skill comes out don't try to get his health low as there is no point The skill without low hp is 20% which is basically a charisma when lowered its 50% but you don't need it since 20% should be more than enough

@@ZTL soloer if you give him just a few grails for sure. Survivability shoots up a lot with a team. He isn’t like Moth man where you can potentially last for ever in a solo, but he can last a long damn time with the right mystic code and some RNG.
Grailed him to level 90 and got him to Bond 10 a few days ago. I nicknamed him Cu Clutchain after her killed BOTH Xiang Yu and Consort Yu with only 150 hp left when I was going through Lostbelt 3
I don't have any good lancers other than Parvati so I was wondering how far I should grail Cu...I have him at 80 ATM...RN he's not doing enough damge IMO but I still love his survivability
One of the best low rarity offensive servants in the game. Great for getting that last hit in if your team didn't quite make it. I do wish his quick cards were a tad better, but he's pretty much the best emergency final line servant besides Herc. And he doesn't need a bond CE to do it either.
I guess his hits are passable since his skills are so good and he's gonna be getting hit alot to gen NP as well. Better quick cards would be nice for better star gen but maybe he'll get something to help that out in the future.
@@ZTL I really don't think he needs a buff. That said, better quicks would mean more stable card generation so if he's being used as a backline he can charge for that finishing shot without relying on starting charge as much or maybe go for a second if needed more easily.
But Hozoin is a different kind of soloer. While Cu just refuses to die, Hozoin is an absolute beast stacking his np and doing a metric shit ton of crit dmg. I love them both, tho. If one day I feel like, hey, I wanna crit a boss into oblivion, Hozoin is mah boi. If one day I feel like, hey, I just want to lmao watching a boss trying to kill me and miserably failin, then mah boi is best doggo. They're fun, they're good and hidden SSR for us, the f2p peasants.
Man for al most a year he was both my best lancer and my best servant I even grail him to lv 90 and max bond, and even now that I have his alter form I still use him if posible. He is without a question a hiden 5 star for all f2p and newer players.
I really want to grail cu but half of the player base already did so their is really no reason for me to grail him. Btw I’m loving these low star servant videos.

If I had gun to my head and was forced to pick only 2 3 star servants to level, Cu and David would be them. Of course Robin, Ushi, Ricky Bedivere, Caesar and Hundred Faces as well. But Cu is top of the list.

Nothing against Cu, he's great for solo and stuff, but, I'll probably just wait for summer 2022 and a proper quick ST lancer to arrive to NA. Summer Yu might not be as immortal as Cu, but, she has some nice utility (20% targettable charge and party wide 3T 50% crit buff), pretty decent looping (good hit count/np gain per hit+20% quick buff and 20-60% NP gain buff), nice anti-male niche and better damage than Cu (her atk stat is 2nd highest among 4* Lancers and she has the quick and crit buff I mentioned before).
imo you should level heracles and use him for saber solos. i'd prefer to use him instead of cu but sadly i didn't think to reroll during the tutorial. disclaimer tho im still relatively new of about 4 months.
For Heracles to become a surviving Berserker he really needs to be bond 10 with his bond CE that gives him 3 unremovable guts. Cu is much more generic so you can give him any CE you want.
Actually my first servant leveled :) He, being last man standing (I don't have Herc), saved me more than few times, so even though I didn't leveled his skills up to 10/10/10, he is good. Well, now I have Mothman as last man standing, but Cu is also good. Especially when you are tight on party points. But unfortunately, he is not type of servant who is kind to novices.
Was thinking to grailed him when I started playing one month ago then Nagao happen. No need to say I ignore best doggo and become a simp. Currently she is lvl 94 and 4/4/8. Gotta farm more material and QO to max grailed to lvl 100 and 10/10/10. I really want to grailed him but holy grail are limited... A sacrifice need to be done. Ushi, assclap and arash already took the remaining to lv 90.

Cu maybe a roach but he can only do so much. He’s my back up servant in case shit hits the fan. More often these new bosses can wipe the front row pretty quick.
If you mean Proto Cu vs normal Cu. I'd say normal Cu is better if you want a Soloer/Last Man Standing. Normal Cu is more reliable thanks to his Guts and Disengage. Meanwhile Proto Cu is just a Lancer who does decent damage and is a bit tanky, but has nowhere near the solo potential normal Cu has. I recommend normal Cu more
Why level Cu when I have Scathach? Hell, before I got her I wound up getting Enkidu as my first rare Lancer, and gold lancers haven't stopped coming to me since I got him. Parvati (grailed to 90, skills 10/9/10) Enkidu (Leveled, not fully skilled) Scathach (Grailed to 100, 10/10/10, golden fous are getting added) Eresh (Lvl 80, swear I'll level her eventually) Bradamante (Lvl 50 I dunno when I'll get to her) Valkyrie (lvl 80, not skilled. Replaced by Parvati wholesale) Li Shuwen (lvl 1) Raikou (lvl 50, next lancer I need to level for her buster support capabilities if nothing else and cause she seems fun to use) Liz (lvl 1) God damn they won't stop comin! And I'm gonna keep rolling in Lancer GSSR's till I complete NP5 Scathach so I'm pretty sure that list is gonna keep growing, especially since most of the welfare's we're getting in the next two years are more fuckin Lancers.
K. I mean that doesn't really mean much, cause for all I know you only use lancers for archer boss fights, at which point sure I guess go for it. Game isn't hard, no reason not to use units you like even when you got someone vastly better in the form of Enkidu to toss at the issue. Personally I toss lancers at everything, I don't have Dantes so my Parvati is my best farmer with Skadi with Atalanta being a close second (and since Atalanta is only NP 1 unlike Parvati, Atalanta only comes out for Saber nodes) and for pretty much every non-Saber boss I toss Scathach at them cause I luv Scathach. Usually my boss setup is Double Skadi, Scathach then some extra supports that can hopefully help the person with class advantage that's also in the back line. Though with me getting MHX Alter now I might just toss her in the back line with some generic supports.

You said that you can use any servant you like, but if we are going by that logic, you are saying that you don't like cu. Because like you said, the game isn't hard, so why not use the servants you like instead of going for the easy option, except cu is the easy option in most cases. Personally, I haven't used scathach before as noone in my friends list has put her as a support.

Because he just won't die? I mean, he's like one of the top solo servants in the game, being able to even solo some saber nodes. Just to try different approaches to the game, I think 4 grails on Cu ain't a lot, specially being a lancer. My go to lancer is a lvl100 Lalter, but from time to time I like to change and bring the dog out for a walk an he's just so fun. Not saying you should grail him, but you wouldn't regret it.
he was my only usable lancer for the longest time. but on every boss fight i wished hed do more damage. now that i have summer raikou, parvati, fionn and bradamante i dont need him anymore tho.
Does Cu outclass Houzouin at everything? They are both 3* ST lancers. Both are basically quick servants (even though Houzouin has arts NP he mostly uses quick face cards, right?) I just don't know what Houzouin's niche would be
Houzouin is a fun servant. He's got good offensive steroids and enjoys support that lets him get the big boy numbers. Cu doesn't have the crazy high crit damage, but has solid consistent damage and very high survivability for boss duels/negating a few hits for the team with PfA.
Cu does not outclass hozouin at everything but he's better with survivability that's really all you need Inshun has crits and a tiny bit of survivability if you give cu the right ce and cc you're good
It's more that, cu kinda sucks lol. Most of the hype around him was born from Cu solos like Honako. In reality, newbies don't need him. You can solo all of fgo without him, due to friend support being better. Shimosa, the only place where having a raised Lancer is necessary for tomoe, can be cleared by any st Lancer raised. In cqs, we have so many examples. Tomoe from setsubun, Touta from gilfest, where cu cleared them. So did massive amounts of other servants, with literally no difficulty. And to cap it all off, all that solo potential is basically useless for 99% of what you do in fgo. Veterans or newbies, they'll just be farming so much, and then doing some easy clap cq that has a very simple solution. He's not bad, no servant is, since fgo is pretty easy. But there really isn't anything, any player, vet or newbie, might want to raise cu for, unless they like doggo boy.
Most friends don’t use ST servants as their go to servants. It’s usually the Aoe servants that gets chosen. So if you lack a good ST servants then Cu is your only good choice. Plus his 3 hit evasion and guts are great for boss battles.
Cu sounds great though there's just one problem I don't have him😭 I've been playing for a couplela months now and I still haven't gotten a single copy Every night I go to sleep begging for RNGesus to show me the silver lancer card only for it to be Cu prototype🥲
Me trying to NP5 Cu on NA after my first month of playing… 3 copies when rolling on Castoria banner. And 1 copy of Cu on my JP account. I just need 2 copies on NA and 4 more copies on JP. But almost every single silver servant is almost or is NP5 on my NA account XD.

He's very similar to Izo and Kojiro, supreme gold rarity tier kits that just need that little push to get them up to par stat-wise.
I am honestly surprised he isn't a 5 star, then again, he's a great free to play DPS servant to have who I plan to grail to level 90

imo you should level heracles and use him for saber solos. i'd prefer to use him instead of cu but sadly i didn't think to reroll during the tutorial. disclaimer tho im still relatively new of about 4 months.
For Heracles to become a surviving Berserker he really needs to be bond 10 with his bond CE that gives him 3 unremovable guts.
Cu is much more generic so you can give him any CE you want.
Actually my first servant leveled :)
He, being last man standing (I don't have Herc), saved me more than few times, so even though I didn't leveled his skills up to 10/10/10, he is good.
Well, now I have Mothman as last man standing, but Cu is also good. Especially when you are tight on party points.
But unfortunately, he is not type of servant who is kind to novices.
Two things:

Was thinking to grailed him when I started playing one month ago then Nagao happen.
No need to say I ignore best doggo and become a simp. Currently she is lvl 94 and 4/4/8. Gotta farm more material and QO to max grailed to lvl 100 and 10/10/10.
I really want to grailed him but holy grail are limited... A sacrifice need to be done. Ushi, assclap and arash already took the remaining to lv 90.
The problem with Lancer Cu is... he better off solo than to be in a team.
I actually hate when people say that cu is not bad in teams he can offer lots in teams granted he has no team skills but he can still help out
@@acnologi1115 Yeah, just because someone doesn't have team skills doesn't me they cant help. Cu is very good back line servant in case something goes wrong and you only have 1 servant left

Cu maybe a roach but he can only do so much. He’s my back up servant in case shit hits the fan. More often these new bosses can wipe the front row pretty quick.

If you mean Proto Cu vs normal Cu. I'd say normal Cu is better if you want a Soloer/Last Man Standing. Normal Cu is more reliable thanks to his Guts and Disengage. Meanwhile Proto Cu is just a Lancer who does decent damage and is a bit tanky, but has nowhere near the solo potential normal Cu has. I recommend normal Cu more

Why level Cu when I have Scathach?
Hell, before I got her I wound up getting Enkidu as my first rare Lancer, and gold lancers haven't stopped coming to me since I got him.
Parvati (grailed to 90, skills 10/9/10)
Enkidu (Leveled, not fully skilled)
Scathach (Grailed to 100, 10/10/10, golden fous are getting added)
Eresh (Lvl 80, swear I'll level her eventually)
Bradamante (Lvl 50 I dunno when I'll get to her)
Valkyrie (lvl 80, not skilled. Replaced by Parvati wholesale)
Li Shuwen (lvl 1)
Raikou (lvl 50, next lancer I need to level for her buster support capabilities if nothing else and cause she seems fun to use)
Liz (lvl 1)
God damn they won't stop comin! And I'm gonna keep rolling in Lancer GSSR's till I complete NP5 Scathach so I'm pretty sure that list is gonna keep growing, especially since most of the welfare's we're getting in the next two years are more fuckin Lancers.
Except for scathach, I have every other lancer on your list plus fionn. Yet I use my lvl 90 cu more than them. Take it for what it's worth
K. I mean that doesn't really mean much, cause for all I know you only use lancers for archer boss fights, at which point sure I guess go for it. Game isn't hard, no reason not to use units you like even when you got someone vastly better in the form of Enkidu to toss at the issue.
Personally I toss lancers at everything, I don't have Dantes so my Parvati is my best farmer with Skadi with Atalanta being a close second (and since Atalanta is only NP 1 unlike Parvati, Atalanta only comes out for Saber nodes) and for pretty much every non-Saber boss I toss Scathach at them cause I luv Scathach. Usually my boss setup is Double Skadi, Scathach then some extra supports that can hopefully help the person with class advantage that's also in the back line. Though with me getting MHX Alter now I might just toss her in the back line with some generic supports.

You said that you can use any servant you like, but if we are going by that logic, you are saying that you don't like cu. Because like you said, the game isn't hard, so why not use the servants you like instead of going for the easy option, except cu is the easy option in most cases. Personally, I haven't used scathach before as noone in my friends list has put her as a support.

Just to try different approaches to the game, I think 4 grails on Cu ain't a lot, specially being a lancer.
My go to lancer is a lvl100 Lalter, but from time to time I like to change and bring the dog out for a walk an he's just so fun.
Not saying you should grail him, but you wouldn't regret it.

Does Cu outclass Houzouin at everything? They are both 3* ST lancers. Both are basically quick servants (even though Houzouin has arts NP he mostly uses quick face cards, right?) I just don't know what Houzouin's niche would be
Houzouin is a fun servant. He's got good offensive steroids and enjoys support that lets him get the big boy numbers. Cu doesn't have the crazy high crit damage, but has solid consistent damage and very high survivability for boss duels/negating a few hits for the team with PfA.
Cu does not outclass hozouin at everything but he's better with survivability that's really all you need
Inshun has crits and a tiny bit of survivability if you give cu the right ce and cc you're good
Cu has targeting no which can help beat those annoying evasion bosses.
Technically that lower hp = higher dmg mechanic goes all the way back to Rider yuri pirates.
Who doesn't already have cu? Why would he need a rate up?

It's more that, cu kinda sucks lol.
Most of the hype around him was born from Cu solos like Honako.
In reality, newbies don't need him. You can solo all of fgo without him, due to friend support being better. Shimosa, the only place where having a raised Lancer is necessary for tomoe, can be cleared by any st Lancer raised.
In cqs, we have so many examples. Tomoe from setsubun, Touta from gilfest, where cu cleared them. So did massive amounts of other servants, with literally no difficulty.
And to cap it all off, all that solo potential is basically useless for 99% of what you do in fgo. Veterans or newbies, they'll just be farming so much, and then doing some easy clap cq that has a very simple solution.
He's not bad, no servant is, since fgo is pretty easy. But there really isn't anything, any player, vet or newbie, might want to raise cu for, unless they like doggo boy.
Most friends don’t use ST servants as their go to servants. It’s usually the Aoe servants that gets chosen. So if you lack a good ST servants then Cu is your only good choice. Plus his 3 hit evasion and guts are great for boss battles.

Me trying to NP5 Cu on NA after my first month of playing… 3 copies when rolling on Castoria banner. And 1 copy of Cu on my JP account. I just need 2 copies on NA and 4 more copies on JP. But almost every single silver servant is almost or is NP5 on my NA account XD.
I mean I have prototype cu so that is something but he doesn't have guts status skill :/
