@@ShanesCows It would help massively. Browser functionality can be a bit flakey at times and constantly having to close and reopen the app because of strange in browser behaviour should (he says) be cured with a standalone desktop application.
Thanks Shane! I like the quick summary videos of new features. I subscribe to the RSS Feed to get the Power Platform Blog articles but your show and tell is really nice to see it in action.
Definitely...did a usability test this week and didn't want users to see the app before the test, since everyone gets an email when they share it, that didn't quite work out 😂
Hey Shane love the videos, I’ve created some power flows for my work. I wanted to get your take on creating an uploading Overtime slots then having agents submit for them then be approved or denied.. thoughts?
Thanks Shane. How do I define user security roles to Dataverse in the modern sharing? Right now i am switching back to classic control to ensure dataverse security roles assigned to the users.
Thanks Shane! I have a general question regarding ALM an how you manage your applications. What do you use to export solutions, pipelines or do you use another method?
@ haha ouch. But what is the best practice, because for me ir would be Pipelines but I don’t know where to specify the connections :(, because I have a solution in a dev enviroment and when I deploy it to a prod enviroment the app should use production databases
I need help can't figure this out. I have powerapps for teams i have uploaded images in a gallery but i also need to be able to download them from the gallery. can you help?
Thanks a lot, Shane. Ever since I saw changes in GUI, I was looking for a video to know what has changed ... guess no one likes to read anymore 😅 so thanks to you ❤
The containers will show proper icon once you publish the app and open again. There is also issue with edit forms, which messes up the x property and the fill property of the combobox/dropdown included in a data card.
Do you have any videos on successfully embedding images from SharePoint libraries into an email (for Outlook AND Gmail) using Power Automate? Thank you!
This video is most of what you want but it doesn't work for GMAIL. :( th-cam.com/video/1N7PBDjTY1U/w-d-xo.html This blog post from Matthew covers gmail though :) www.matthewdevaney.com/easiest-power-automate-embed-image-in-email-method/
So I can no longer share my app with the entire organization? What if I want everyone to have access? Is there any way to do it? I got it that I can use the old view but if Microsoft removes it from the new one, probably that functionality will not be there in the future, right?
Yeah, not sure their answer for this one. I have never had anyone use "Everyone" in the real world. Most people use a security group like All Users or whatever it is called these days.
Thanks for the quick update. I do not understand whey Microsoft is so bad and do not finish all the preview controls. They start and leave everything undone while adding new features. Very unprofessionally.
Lots of teams doing lots of different pieces is what they would respond I think. Good news the containers got fixed. 😎 That seemed to be the most annoying change from the video.
great tips, thx & YES pls for video of using Copilot to build desktop flow AND if it does come about please consider further unpacking the option Windows users have to do local versions of desktop flow without extra licensing (CONCEPT - use Copilot to build a desktop flow that builds a power app...)
@ShanesCows What you comment in minute 4 about the containers that you don't like (neither do I), there is a way to know if it is vertical or horizontal, you can see it at the bottom of the design screen, to the left of the slider to enlarge the window. However, I just created a new application (tenant in Europe) and they appear again as before except the general container (Authoring version 3.24104.14).
Thanks for the tip. My immediate reaction is that I would adopt a naming prefix to distinguish among vertical, horizontal, & non-responsive containers. Currently, I prefix all container controls with "con" (e.g., conHeader, conMenu). If the image that you tipped doesn't do it for me, then I'll probably adopt new naming conventions like conv or cnv, conh or cnh, & conn or cnn.
Thanks Shane, always relevant videos. Microsoft is lazy to attend developers in Power Platform. Where's the option to control gradient colors in easy way (as known as no/lo code)?? Where's the improvements in navigation, selection upon controls (left side)...
Still not a huge fan of the modern designer. Seems some key features are not there yet, at least in our tenant. Hopefully soon! Thanks for this update video!!
It's maddening. On what planet would anyone think this is a good idea? Hopefully it does get address in a later build like Shane and others have mentioned.
Great video: what would be really handy would be a PowerApps desktop version outside of the browser with a proper debugger. That would be incredible.
Interesting, I don't know if the team has ever considered that or not. Hmmm

Awesome. Glad you liked it. 😎 Kind of fun to make a quick hitter.
I miss the option to not a send email during adding a Power app permission.
Agree, I was surprised it was missing. 🙃

is there a workaround for this? i don't want the send email option as well.
Edit: Nevermind. found classic sharing ahah

Very much like these types of short videos! Thanks for making!
Thanks and thanks for the feedback. More quick hitters to come. 🤩

I very much appreciate these quick update summaries! Especially with your hot takes! Do more! 😊
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks so much for the update Shane ❤ Yes please to the video about Copilot ✅
Thanks Wendy! 😎
Thank you for your sharing.
Happy to help, have a good weekend.
Thank you Shane. I love the video
Appreciate it!
Thanks Shane! I have a general question regarding ALM an how you manage your applications. What do you use to export solutions, pipelines or do you use another method?
We see everything. So it depends is the answer. Not helpful, I know 🥲

thanks buddy, looking forward to a vid on the power automate desktop recording features 🧐

Yes, it would be great with a video about "Record with Copilot" - Desktop flow.
Thanks - your videos are great :)
Thanks for the feedback, guess I need to dive into that feature more. 🤩
Please definitely make a "Record with Copilot" video.

I can't speak for everyone, but 'All Users' an option from my Manage Access user list.
All Users is a Security group in your Entra aka Azure Active Directory. It was a default group back in the on premises day.
New sharing option doesn't seem to have an option to give the user/SecurityGroup a security role...
Interesting. I hadn't tried that yet. I saw sharing still worked but didn't think about DV permissions. Hmmm. Did it work the old way?
Oh the container I haven’t seen yet. That’s gonna suck. Gonna have to vote to add that back!
I am hearing reports it has been added back. No one was happy about that change. :)

Glad you enjoyed the video. Lots of little things ripe for improvement.
Not sure why my home screen of PowerAutomate desktop I cant find record with copilot even I already update version to 2.5.
Has your company maybe disabled Copilot? Maybe it is a region thing? I am not sure.
@ I can use copilot inside Excel, PowerPoint, outlook, Still wait for Desktop Automate
"Record with Copilot" in PowerAutomateDesktop: yes, yes! I'd appreciate very much if you cpuld make a video on this topic.
Thanks

Hi Shane! hope you make a video about "Enterprise Keyword" integrated in powerapps that will be a great help
I think that is also called "Managed Metadata"? If so there we covered in this video th-cam.com/video/b4Fb57UsJLI/w-d-xo.html
Please do a video on User-Defined Types! Thank you!

thanks shane!!!
You are welcome. 🤩
Notice how in the new Power Automate designer the undo and redo buttons are gone. 🤦♂
Nice catch! Yeah, there a plenty more of the little Power Automate stuff I am finding. sigh. The pace of change is crazy.
Do you believe that soon the "Everyone" share will be removed definitly?
I don't know, hard to say if it was an oversight or purpose. 🤷
The containers thing is ridiculous, come on MS fix this.
Agreed. I have heard later builds have addressed it but I haven't seen it fixed yet.
It's maddening. On what planet would anyone think this is a good idea? Hopefully it does get address in a later build like Shane and others have mentioned.

containter icons - why???
Good news I am sitting reports they are starting to roll out new ones that make sense again.
