Hi Friends. Please note that if you go for Elfin Thyme for that tight packed very very short Thyme it is bumpy so don't expect golf putting green but it is amazing as a grass replacement as long as you are okay with your grass replacement not being flat. I love mine
I bought the thyme from robertas , through QVC -could hardly wait to get it -purchased the red, pinkand white--when taking it out of the trays they fell apart simply because there was no root system--the gardeners had to have known their plants were nt ready to be shipped out to the customers but did not care --they made it look real good on QVC what a joke will never deal with them again
I bought this years ago, got purple. I absolutely love it but the purple flowers are very light more white but I love it put in places where weeds were awful and now very few weeds and very green. The polinators love it too.
Im planning on putting this in the back yard its super attractive... Would you have any recommendations for a shaded part of the yard that grows low like this and is tolerant?
@@tam6753 idk if you have already tried and got the answer to your worries. But if not, I have recently bought and planted seeds from ebay, and they sprouted fast, and grew fast. I even left some outside and it survived the snow. Well, most of it did.lol so, depending on the seller you got your seeds, they should do fine. I'm sure you already know this as well, but always plant a test bunch of seeds from ebay in a pot and allow them to grow a while to make sure they are what they were described to be and that no other seeds were mixed in. That has happened to me. I had seeds that were supposed to be one thing and they turned to be another, unidentified plant. And I've also had random sprouts from seeds that mixed in with my intended plant.
@@katalinacastanares4602 thank you so much for your kind reply. I didn't actually receive the seeds because apparently we aren't allowed to bring these plants or seeds into my country (wasn't aware of this rule). So the parcel was detained and destroyed by customs :( but thank you very much, and I hope yours are blooming beautifully!! :)
Anyone in West Australia have or know where to get these ?...Perth is very hot in summer & we have water restrictions. I’m currently growing Corsican mint in places but summers full sun is a lil too much for it. I need a grass replacement (horrid couch grass which NEVER DIES)..this thyme could be it if it genuinely is drought tolerant AND I can buy it here. Thanks in advance
I don't think so. Thyme is an herb - bees may be attracted if you let it bloom. It will choke out grass - reason I started planting in bare spots in my front lawn. I want it to eventually take over. You can mow it and it still looks good and smells nice, and softer than grass so you can walk on it barefoot. In a drought, it stays green. It's the perfect alternative to grass.
Go to any nursery. I live in southern ON. I have Mother of Thyme that I'm transplanting in my front yard to replace grass. It gradually spreads on its own and chokes out grass and weeds.
You can ask home depot to order for you from their local nursery. But might depend on your area otherwise directgardening.com has them too and they will ship.
Yes, bought this 4 yrs ago to plant where I couldnt dig due to huge long trees roots. It has controlled weeds and filled in pretty quickly. I got the purple, will say in zone 6 it's not evergreen in winter and the flowers are so light they look white. But for an area you dont want weeds that's sunny I recommend this. I do trim it in late fall because it will get ratty looking once flowers fade.

I’ve never had luck with QVC plants. Never looks like the pics and rarely grows. Very misleading advertising.

If I hear him say "they're deer resistant" one more time I will pour salt over his entire fields of flowers.
Mark Soares LMAO
Hahaha, and keeps pressing on those plants
will it creep into 4' tall grass and kill it off?
yes but..can you pat them? we love to pat our plants.
Good evening and do you have any red root thyme in your garden
Is this edible thyme?
Just bought 250 seeds of the purple on ebay for 8 bucks. I just worry how well it holds up to standing water around some of my flower beds.
Hi, I bought from eBay too but I'm scared that the seeds won't sprout. Did you successfully plant these?

ALL other websites say you can't walk on it as much as he claims. Light walking only, not if your kids want to run on it every day like grass.
Are they deer resistant???
Can you walk on it?
They must be on the hard sell honor roll.
Do you still offer the creeping thyme collection.... i would like the red and the purple .
I need it in cobalt blue! Do you ship international?
Can they tolerate Arizona climate at118 degree?
How to order?
Tell me!
Just bought a 1000 seeds. But im in a apartment where only one side of patio gets like 2 tp 3 hours of morning sun so I’ll see
I am in Johannesburg south africa..... Can I get this thyme here?
Marlene Lewis I bought six packs at a nursery in Cape Town last week, pink

Will this attract bees?

Does work in zone 5?
I’ve been looking for creeping thyme for 3 weeks
The over-emphasis on the light tapping tells me these aren't traffic tolerant lol
I live in there Caribbean, very unique. Where can I order these?
You can get 1 thousand seeds for 2.99 on etsy
does this harbor mosquitos or any kind of bugs?.. Will weed grow through them or will this grass choke it out?

Where can I buy this in Canada ?

That's awesome to know. I want to replace my lawn. Thanks for the info.
Suzanne Du4 Thanks for sharing your idea. That's great to know they can choke off the grass.
I have volves and would like to plant in front of house..will the volves (field mice) eat theroots?
Dynamite is the best way to get rid of voles. They eat everything.
@@danahart-stone6002 7 sticks of dynomite to be exact.
Sounds like this could get out of control and take over everything. lol It is pretty though.
Can they be put in partial shade?
brandy smith yes
This is perfect!!!
omg quit hitting the plants
How can I buy theses.!.?

Sounds rather invasive...grows through concrete!?
Tap tap tap tappy tap tapp squish squish tappy tap
does it choke out weeds? what about bugs??, I have nothing but weeds and clay/rocky dirt
I hear it will prevent weeds where it, the thyme, has spread.
