As a former high school drama troupe director: THANK YOU for letting your (older) kids do adult material! I always pushed as far as I could for my students (who were mostly 16-18) to do material that was considered a little mature or advanced for them...and it prepared them for their careers as actors! Casting directors and producers always seek out performers who have mature experience, and many high school students miss out on developing that maturity when they're forbidden to tackle any material like this. To the director and producer: Your troupe is EXCELLENT, very professional for their age, and handle the material like they've been doing it for years. Brava.
I also teach school drama. For me it's not that the higschoolers can't handle it, it's more that the audience is their parents and younger siblings. I always felt the school show should be a family friendly event. Drama class in contrast is free game for more adult material.

so much of legally blonde is on the lead and the fact that this girl is, at most, 18 is blowing my mind. That voice and presence is so Elle. I didn’t know myself that well at 18, let alone a character.
I think an argument could be made to the fact that being a character is much easier than being yourself. You know how the character will turn out, their character is developed, and you truly get to know them. It's much harder being yourself when so much is unknown. But a point well made regardless.

Right??? Blood In The Water (I'm assuming that's what it's called) was absolutely perfect, and he just nailed every single scene he was in. He creeped me out in the best way possible!

That I can see no one is talking about how the girl who’s playing Enid covers not grabbing her glasses at 50:36 “Bro I can’t even get my glasses I’m so pissed. “
I agree she's one of the best I've seen because she really seems to feel what Elle goes through so she's incredibly easy to empathize with. This also had my favorite Paulette and I don't say that lightly 🤗💜
a lot of her line delivery seems to be taken from laura bell bundy (which is understandable) but she still has a personal style and for a high schooler she's absolutely amazing. elle and paulette are the most difficult parts, especially in terms of comedy and they've both killed it. i hope they're doing well now since they probably already graduated.
Little detail I caught that I love and I think really speaks to all the actors in this show really knowing their characters: when Elle proposes to Emmett, in the background you can see Elle’s dad taking his wife’s drink and downing the whole ass thing in one go. This production is so, SO good. I have never seen such an amazing high school production of Legally Blonde, and I’ve seen a LOT. The two leads, especially, are incredibly well cast. If Emmett’s actor doesn’t go on to do great things in theater I will be extremely surprised. This whole thing was great, thank you so much for uploading it.
The guy who plays Emmett (Mitchell Sink) has already been on broadway! He was in Matilda a couple of years ago so I don’t doubt he’ll go back on broadway soon
I'm just putting it out there that Mitchell sink (Emmett) was ADORABLE and SO TALENTED. His voice? AMAZING. His acting? SPOT ON. Like did you see his little innocent smile when Warner asks Elle to do the bend and snap again? It was amazing! Everyone in the cast was incredible amazing and talented don't get me wrong! His addition to the little details he put into Emmett really made him come to life.
im so shocked by how good paulette was... everyone was so great, i can’t believe they’re high schoolers, but paulette needs to go straight to broadway!
The best highschool production I've ever seen!! Elle killed it!!! Need to be strong to carry a show like that and I was constantly impressed by her vocals. Emmett was probably the best I have ever seen since the original!!! Fantastic acting from Mitchell Sink! And Paulette was funny as hell. Hope to see you guys in something again soon
Elle, for having a lower voice, was amazing! I’ve seen versions with an alto Elle go south so fast, but her and the vocal director did amazing at making this work.
It's good like that because we can at least here what they are saying if they are laughing every 5 sec even to the point we cant here anything even you would get anoyed and eventually exit the video. I say the audience is good as it is (just an opinion).
Sometimes with things like this they purposefully turn up the audio from the mics and all other by noise down so that you can hear the performers. Essentially, it sounds quiet bc the audience is purposefully muted
No it's not just the mics being recorded, or over dress rehearsal, because you can hear some pretty loud laughter during some of the parts (like "Ireland"). So yeah, the audience just doesn't think it's funny I guess. I don't see how someone couldn't though
Most people in the comments on musicals barely talk about the pit orchestra. I’ll be honest this musical production was realllly reallllly amazing!! I couldnt believe this was a high school production. Till I listened closely to the pit orchesta.
This Enid is even better than Broadway. This is the Enid we deserve. This is my canon Enid now. Emmett stole the show. The expressions at 'Legally Blonde' were spot on, he manages to hit the right points that make Emmett, while keeping his rendition fresh. This Paulette was so charming and adorable, I didn't skip 'Bend and Snap' this time. When I saw Elle's face, I knew that this was an Elle Woods face. And her vocals were gorgeous too! Brooke had a few mic issues, but pulling off 'Whipped Into Shape' it not a feat, and I loved the 'Delta Nu' part. Callahan, Warner, Vivian, brought out the meanness in these characters. Even the supporting cast, how in the zone the boys were in 'Gay or European', the Greek chorus, the judge, the Parda people in 'What You Want', the harmony in 'Welcome to Harvard Law'... you all worked together to make an immersive story, while reinventing the characters. My love to all the people who worked in this, you all are so talented and have so bright futures.
@@rosiebiggin2561 yes he has played a role in almost every musical we have performed. And no, it wasn't Heathers, he played Jeremy's dad in be more chill
Because they have money to do this really well, get good props, set, lights and sound. therefore get very good actors and singers to audition and create a fantastic and talented cast :)
ahh! legally blonde was one of the first musicals i listened to, so it has a v special place in my heart & this didn’t disappoint ! - the ensemble absolutely killed the choreo! - take it like a man was executed so well - paulette 👏🏼 stole 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 show 👏🏼 - set design is phenomenal ! - brooke was still powerful despite her mic - there right there was beautiful ! - i loved this emmett as much i as i do christian borle’s - the dogs were amazing
its most likely a preforming arts school, and they have to get all parents of actors to sign a form agreeing that they know what they are coming to see, and what their kid is preforming in.
The one thing that makes me laugh so much is in all the scenes at the hair salon, you can see this dude at the desk by the door just watching everything go down, and in the scene where Elle is saying goodbye to Paulette he's just in the background mouthing "no"
Katie Evenson did they mic you at all?? I thought that maybe they didn’t because you have such an incredibly strong voice that they didn’t really need to lol
The girl playing Elle was better than half of the girls on "The Search for the next Elle Woods" You go, girl!! Also everyone was amazing, such great acting and singing by teenagers...
I've only watched the first minute of the show, and the orchestra sounds like pure shit. Did they even tune their instruments before the show? Some of those kids are singing off key, especially that guy sitting at the table. Elle Woods is doing the best job up there.
not necessarily. sharpay has the look of elle but definitely not the personality, she’s a bully and this role would probably be too hard for her considering she would have to be nice to people.
the actual song, legally blonde, brought me to tears at the climax. “some girls fight hard, some face the trial, some girls were just meant to smile” i felt that and i think the actress did too. this show was absolutely amazing, the choreography, the pit orchestra, the actors, the set, the tech, everything.
okay so i’m used to the professional production with like,, christian borle as emmett and let me just say while that one is still my favorite, this one was really good and this is a high school ?? my high school could never have that much talent, let alone budget for props and such damn
@@ashildrtheswift3028Summit is super into the arts; while the board doesn’t fund it, we have an organization - SPARC - which helps us fund such awesome shows.
This is by far the best production I've ever seen put on by a school. Everyone was so talented and deserving to be there. Even every one that had mic issues throughout it you could tell they pushed through it and still did wonderfully. From the band and pit orchestra to Elle herself it was so amazing. Costumes and the set were beautiful and on point. All these kids did the most amazing job ever and it was so much better than anything I've seen, Good job!
this is BRILLIANT!!! Are they really High School kids?!?!??!? I’m going in to my junior year and I don’t think my year group could pull something like this off!!! Also the guy who was Emmet has a beAUTIFUL VOICE OKAY BYE
Emma Jean Wow now that you said that, that makes perfect sense. He does look like a male version of Sadie. Congrats on your attractive and talented genes, Sink siblings 😂
Can I just say the guy in the blue shirt in Paulette's salon is so good and always in character, like at 1:51:03 he is on top of everything and just so into it like wth
I’d never seen Legally Blonde before and I actually squealed when Elle proposed at the end oh my gosh that’s so awesome!! The actors were all amazing in this! Very impressive
Everyone else has already said how impressed we are with this whole show but I'm just shocked they didn't actually take an intermission. They just like... paused for 2 minutes and then were right back at it?! Or is this just some very clever sound editing?
Damn this is incredible. Legit this adaptation is almost on Broadway level! The entire cast is extremely professional and talented, the orchestra was on point all the time and the stage settings were so well done. I'm blown away, just wow. I have a massive crush on the guy who played Emmett, he's hot and cute at the same time haha and the girl who played Elle smashed the entire performance, her voice is so nice. This was too good, I'm gonna watch it again lol
Not only is this not a school production, it must be an actual Broadway show. The talent of these kids is amazing! The whole production, sound, lighting, choreographies are exquisite. Great job!! I bet a couple of people are already professional actors and actresses (especially the dude playing Emmet).
Emmett (Mitchell Sink) is currently studying musical theatre at college, and he has a few broadway credits from when he was a kid. His sister is Sadie Sink, so the talent clearly runs in their family!
ChloetheChlam tbh I wasn't surprised because I live in a pretty wealthy area so it's rare to see overweight people and since clearly this place is wealthy with all the money for production I'm not surprised lol
There's a mic on her but its either not up high enough, not a good quality mic, or simply a different kind of mic than the rest of them which is making it sound different
this is amazing so far!! I've never seen a genuinely good high school legally blonde before now! great singers, good looking people. this is outstanding.
This is MINDBLOWING. I've only made it to Blood in the water which is where I feel many amateur productions lack (which isn't weird at all, Callahan is a notoriously difficult part and the song is so dynamic) but this is INCREDIBLE. This Callahan makes the song his own, knows he can't project the nigh notes so he does something else with them and it's so, so damn impressive and professional. I'm blown away by this whole production. I can't believe this is high school.

It’s called “There Right There” not “Gay or European”.
It's called "There Right There"...
There right there is my fav song from this
smallfry - might as well be called gay or european anyway because literally nobody calls it there right there
Elle, for having a lower voice, was amazing! I’ve seen versions with an alto Elle go south so fast, but her and the vocal director did amazing at making this work.
Shes probably a high mezzo, especially when you listen to her belt you can tell
did this audience have no sense of humor ??
It's good like that because we can at least here what they are saying if they are laughing every 5 sec even to the point we cant here anything even you would get anoyed and eventually exit the video. I say the audience is good as it is (just an opinion).
Sometimes with things like this they purposefully turn up the audio from the mics and all other by noise down so that you can hear the performers. Essentially, it sounds quiet bc the audience is purposefully muted
Yeah lol 😂
They might have filmed during a dress rehearsal
No it's not just the mics being recorded, or over dress rehearsal, because you can hear some pretty loud laughter during some of the parts (like "Ireland"). So yeah, the audience just doesn't think it's funny I guess. I don't see how someone couldn't though
Most people in the comments on musicals barely talk about the pit orchestra. I’ll be honest this musical production was realllly reallllly amazing!! I couldnt believe this was a high school production. Till I listened closely to the pit orchesta.
it’s probably a high schooler orchestra
the tone quality was uhhhhhhh uhhhhhh
The overture was a hot mess. I hope my high school does better with this
it is a very difficult show though
danny omg yes i play sax and i was listening to the pit orchestra and i was like oh honey noo
Wait Hoops' first name is not Eden?
XXX L it is Enid
Oh, I'm sorry. Editing it right away.
AGREED
yes oml
elle and emmitts harmonies UGHHHHH OMG SOFREAKING GOOD
hello paulette was the best one here. see you on broadway sis.
In the last musical that was at my school my best friend and my math teacher performed in only boxershorts
Alena Tewes eek
@@alenatws your math teacher-
Is that allowed?
Also was it heathers?
@@rosiebiggin2561 yes he has played a role in almost every musical we have performed. And no, it wasn't Heathers, he played Jeremy's dad in be more chill
Alena Tewes oh. Well at least your teachers don’t see drama as a joke at your school 😂😂
HOW IS THIS A HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMANCE? It’s like professional show material!
Because they have money to do this really well, get good props, set, lights and sound. therefore get very good actors and singers to audition and create a fantastic and talented cast :)
romantic jerk thats theater for you, I’m in high school and they make us do it, it’s no big deal, it’s just part of the role :)
Iain Alvidrez is this your school?
Iain Alvidrez that’s Awesomes?!
Dude, for me you were the best part of the show. Brava to all of you!
WHO ELSE WAS SHOOK WHEN YOU FOUND OUT EMMET WAS SADIE SINKS BROTHER
I looked it up and it looks like it could be her brother... WHATS HAPPENING????
Yeah lol it really is her brother Mitchell sink, he has a pic with the girl who plays Elle on his Instagram
you should see him in this schools production of pippin. hes so good skskks
Well Sadie was Annie on broadway so, family of theatre kids.
Who is sadie sinks?
ahh! legally blonde was one of the first musicals i listened to, so it has a v special place in my heart & this didn’t disappoint !
- the ensemble absolutely killed the choreo!
- take it like a man was executed so well
- paulette 👏🏼 stole 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 show 👏🏼
- set design is phenomenal !
- brooke was still powerful despite her mic
- there right there was beautiful !
- i loved this emmett as much i as i do christian borle’s
- the dogs were amazing
I'm honestly amazed by this, especially since they didn't get any funding from the board
elle & emmet: spends a whole entire song playing dress up for emmet to look like what he wants to be
elle & emmet: *woah*
emmet:
*i look like warner*
That’s the best line to this day! 😂
The chemistry between emmet and Elle was so perfect omd!! Xx
Foreverkate99 I found both their instagrams they’re really good friends in real life xx

Super Nova I think you mean CELTIC MOODS!!!!!!!
how did they get away with all of this?😂 it was amazing but when my high school did it we couldn’t even say “ethnic movement”
its most likely a preforming arts school, and they have to get all parents of actors to sign a form agreeing that they know what they are coming to see, and what their kid is preforming in.
Karly Campbell lmao my school did bright star and we’re thinking about doing heathers
mattie hord omg
It’s a performing arts school so it’s super different than a normal high school
Why do y'all keep saying it's a performing arts high school, it's public
paulette was absolutely amazingly talented and elle was perfectly cast. but i love that the show wasn’t really censored
The one thing that makes me laugh so much is in all the scenes at the hair salon, you can see this dude at the desk by the door just watching everything go down, and in the scene where Elle is saying goodbye to Paulette he's just in the background mouthing "no"
1:29:18
Same
And whenever Kyle came in he was fanning himself 😂
The way he hangs up the phone and moves over to listen to Viviane talk to Elle about the party was perfection literally down to his fingertips 🤣💜
I love this, but that poor brooke :( her mic! i could barely hear her but she was so good
thank you!!
Katie Evenson did they mic you at all?? I thought that maybe they didn’t because you have such an incredibly strong voice that they didn’t really need to lol
Was that improv when the dog came out of the RV ahead of time? That was very professionally covered up! And LOL when they have trouble lifting him aw
I know- I love animals, so that made me sad. It made me think, awwwww, the poor dog messed up... 😟😟😟
I have a feeling that happened a lot during rehearsal but the dog was adorable omg
did she actually slap him that hard omg what a dedicated queen
Luke omg she did
HIS GLASSED CAME OFF
And I thought they were gonna do the kind of stage kiss where you put your thumbs on the persons lips and kiss your thumbs but nope
This cast did NOT come to play around I love it
#girlpower
THE KISS IN GAY OR EUROPEAN OML THEY DID IT RIGHT
They guy that plays Nikos has a really funny TH-cam channel I accidentally stumbled across it and thought he looked familiar
@@mikey__t glad ya liked it!
@@mikey__t Wait what's the Channel called?
@@Door316 omg i adored it - yall are amazing
Wait were you the kid that played Nikos? Because honestly that character was one of my favorite parts.
The girl playing Elle was better than half of the girls on "The Search for the next Elle Woods" You go, girl!!
Also everyone was amazing, such great acting and singing by teenagers...
This whole production was amazing, and the sets? Omg those are so cool and detailed, esp the sorority house
Leah Marie yeah this high school has incredible shows!!! It’s what they’re known for
I've only watched the first minute of the show, and the orchestra sounds like pure shit. Did they even tune their instruments before the show? Some of those kids are singing off key, especially that guy sitting at the table. Elle Woods is doing the best job up there.
I’m sorry you didn’t like it! The girl who played Elle is pretty vaguely related to me so I might be biased.
They even built stairs lol
Sharpay would kill this role
*Tea* ☕
And Mrs.Darbus would make sure Gabriella got the spot instead 🤦🏽♀️
not necessarily. sharpay has the look of elle but definitely not the personality, she’s a bully and this role would probably be too hard for her considering she would have to be nice to people.
@@arilovah it seems like u didnt watch every hsm movie
the actual song, legally blonde, brought me to tears at the climax.
“some girls fight hard, some face the trial, some girls were just meant to smile”
i felt that and i think the actress did too. this show was absolutely amazing, the choreography, the pit orchestra, the actors, the set, the tech, everything.
okay so i’m used to the professional production with like,,
christian borle as emmett
and let me just say
while that one is still my favorite, this one was really good
and this is a high school ?? my high school could never have that much talent, let alone budget for props and such
damn
And the fact that it wasn't even funded by the board, they had to fund themselves
@@ashildrtheswift3028Summit is super into the arts; while the board doesn’t fund it, we have an organization - SPARC - which helps us fund such awesome shows.
"Emmet nailed the pool boy" I sobbed. Why is this funny... God I'm so immature
The person who players Paulette is an ACTUAL QUEEN
The crowd did not appreciate this as much as they should have. Amazing production! Amazing set! Amazing orchestra!
This is one of the best Elle's I have ever seen outside of Broadway and the West End she is incredible. 😄😄
The guy playing Callahan is very much the vibe of that teacher who is definitely gay and has a husband and two chihuahuas
Eve McCarthy why are you right tho
why is that my principal
Chantal *gay or European* ?
we know that teacher
this is BRILLIANT!!! Are they really High School kids?!?!??!? I’m going in to my junior year and I don’t think my year group could pull something like this off!!!
Also the guy who was Emmet has a beAUTIFUL VOICE OKAY BYE
IKR!!! hes sadie sink's brother. shes in stranger things
yeah, he is her brother
Random Person yeah he is
He was on Broadway as a kid too!!
Emma Jean Wow now that you said that, that makes perfect sense. He does look like a male version of Sadie.
Congrats on your attractive and talented genes, Sink siblings 😂
omg I did some instagram stalking and the guy who plays emmet is the brother of Sadie sink from stranger things
Woah that’s cool!
WHAT
he was also bruce in matilda on broadway
why am i not surprised. talent clearly runs in the family.
whattttttttttt omg
I can’t believe this is a high school production. It’s one of the best amateur shows I’ve seen. Incredible. Love Paulette but everyone is spot on.
Can I just say the guy in the blue shirt in Paulette's salon is so good and always in character, like at 1:51:03 he is on top of everything and just so into it like wth

Avangeline Collett Fantastic? Yes. Broadway? Not quite.
His sister is Sadie Sink, so the talent clearly runs in their family!
the "whipped into shape" number was a mess but i was shook by all the skinny fit HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
ChloetheChlam tbh I wasn't surprised because I live in a pretty wealthy area so it's rare to see overweight people and since clearly this place is wealthy with all the money for production I'm not surprised lol
I really wish they miked the lead singer. Because you can barely hear her at all
Lmfao
ChloetheChlam the choreography was good but the just didn't have a mic on the girl playing Brooke or at least not a working one
There's a mic on her but its either not up high enough, not a good quality mic, or simply a different kind of mic than the rest of them which is making it sound different
Emmett probably nailed every performance but 1:49:00 is definitely my fave 😍
Very true
PAULETTE GAVE ME THE GOOSE BUMPS

Can we talk about how cute Emmet's smirk at 1:41:06 was (and then he and Elle fist-bumped my heart)

Vedran Iljazović is that the line? Ohhh I always wondered what the heck they sang then
This is MINDBLOWING.
