Also fun fact: Burning Abyss (BA) is (like you said) a TCG exclusive archetype that eventually came out in the OCG. At the time, Beatrice wasn't a card yet. After BA was introduced in the OCG, they made Beatrice and first released it in the OCG before releasing Beatrice in the TCG. So it was a previously TCG exclusive archetype that got an OCG exclusive card, weird right?
TGS Anime they are fast and aggressive because since they special summon if you do not control backrow. So u make turn 1 dante(s) to mill and get a bunch of graveyard effects to get back resources and/or set up for future plays.
on top of constantly winning alot this deck just does not seem to get bad with time. No matter the meta they are still there heck they adopted speedroids and phantom knights and made them more competitive. Leading to a running joke of how Dante keeps on dodging the banlist.
TGS Anime consistency comeback ability and removal, any two will net you Dante which thins your deck and triggers melbranche effects, cir Graff and scarm are search and swarm, and their traps trigger your effects while popping opponents cards. Dante can essentially recycle himself like treatoad and Beatrice is a quick effect lavalval chain that can get out the fusion when she dies, they cut through their deck and keep recycling cards without needing the fusion spell or even running the ritual monster, so in short you just can't get rid of them
The graveyard is your second hand that you can easily fill with Dante. You can send the non-extradeck monsters to grave as costs and they still get their effect (other than Shaddolls for example). Also a new archetype called Phantom Knights, which are level 3 too, helped out. Last but not least Beatrice is such a good card, that its now limited to one in the TCG. Milling a card of your deck during your opponents turn is really good in BA.
@@TGSAnime The fact everything chains with each other and you can nuke the field and easily recover. Tourguide to the Underworld and Fiendish Rhino are combos that let you instantly get beatrice out. Along with other cards
The art of Dante at 8:16 was actually done by a friend of mine. Her name was Galactic-Rush and is now Ouroboride on DA, and she did this piece as a commission for a playmat. This is not the final version either, the piece used in the video might be a stolen/traced version of the finished product.
Still waiting for a Qliphort Trivia Video! :D BA is a pretty terrifying deck to duel against. They are fast, aggressive, can recycle a lot of their stuff, a lot of field presence, they have a strong pool for Xyz summoning - even after a lot of their deck was limited. They seem to survive any ban list - probably because no ban list really shattered them.
It’s been almost 5 years since this video came out and I’m here to tell you all that BA is still alive, topping events, and has gotten cards off the banlist.
burning Abyss is really good deck, with your the one playing it. to get over burning Abyss play cards like shadow imprisoning mirror, and Abyss dweller
After going through the divine comedy in school, with a teacher that made me hate it, I began to enjoy reading it on my own and after I found out a whole YuGiOh! archetype is based on this fascinating story I have had the need to make a BA deck! I just can’t seem to find the cards for it though -_-! Anyway, great video and “Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch‘entrate!“
It's a good deck that always seems to hang in there. Any deck where all your monsters special summon, and play from the graveyard as well as the hand, is going to be very hard to brick. Sekka's Light gives them a strong draw card by giving up the spell cards they didn't really use anyway. Underclock Taker and Borrelsword Dragon make for some easy OTKs.
I did a project on Dante's Divine Comedy two years ago for a college project for a humanities class. While I was doing research, I found out Burning abyss was inspired by the literature. I even use some of the cards artwork for the power point sides. I got an A on it and when the money was right, I bought this deck months later. I love this deck because of its theme. I couldn't care less of its competitive record.
Burning abyss monsters are really useful in a God card deck since they can be special summoned from hand when you have no spell or trap cards on your field. Making tributing for a God extremely easy since you still have your normal summon
fun fact: scarmiglione, cagnazzo, barbariccia and Rubicante are also important antagonistic characters in Final Fantasy 4 (Calcabrina also makes an appearance but isn't as relevant) also yeah, BA's are very strong because of how fast they can get rank 3's out, Beatrice's ability to disrupt the opponent's plays with her reactive and adaptable effect, the Cir/Dante loop to never actually lose your ressources, and to some extent their synergy with Phantom Knights as a rank 3 deck. (also speedroid terrortop is an awesome card)
In our rp room I use this deck and am the equivalent to the Devil or some sort of evil being that controls the “chaos realm”. It’s actually pretty fun to play
In Canto XXVII of the inferno, the Francisian monk Guido I da Montelfeltro recounts how he reluctantly gave advice to Bonifacio VII, only after Boniface had agreed to absolve him for the sin of his fraudulent counsel. As Guido recounts his story, after his death, st.francis arrived to claim his soul for the saved, but a black Cherub appeared to assert Hell's superior claim over Guido.

You must have never seen a competitive event last year or even some times this year... because this deck dominated many formats and many people dont like the deck because of it, people are clammering Konami in the tcg to limit "Dante, Traveller of the Burning Abyss" like they did in the ocg but they decided to limit Beatrice instead, Burning Abyss is still seeing a lot of play because of the decks, resilience, and come back ability in the late game
TGS Anime It is a pretty good deck to get back into the competitive swing of things, although both Graff and Cir are limited so playing Burning Abyss alone isnt the best way to go about things, splashing Phantom Knights (Yuto's deck in Arc v) is a route most players have taken, the deck is dubbed "PKFire" as a play on Ness of course, you can find a deck list easily by searching that name
Fun fact: Barbariccia, Cagnazzo, Rubicante, and Scarmiglione are the names of four Archfiends of Golbez, the elemental bosses of Final Fantasy IV
which I'm surprised he didnt mention due to him showing a picture of Rubicante
Calcabrina is also the Doll boss in that game
You just blew my mind LMAO this is great
damn you beat me to it i was going to comment the same thing
Also, a couple or random encounter monsters have the names of other malebranche, like a butterfly monster being named farfarello.

The two burning abyss monsters in fire lake are the same cards based off the two devil's that fell into the boiling lake.

Yes burning abiss is good, it's been tier 1 for 3 years (i think)
I lost it at "Cagna means bitch in italy" with related meme pic!
