I already did a parade video a few years ago that was better than this one. I guess this could have been good enough if there was some video of that tractor doing some actual work.
Riding it at the parade says a lot of you and the tractor's history. They're lots of reasons why they go to the parade with the oldest of their equipments. Feels like "look how I started, or my grandparents, or this is the hero (equipment) of the family or farm, or this machine fed/sustained my family"..is a matter of respect for what the eldest in the family did for us. And lots of people go and see their pieces of history! I tell you, I would not sell that piece of history ever. One day I'll get one.
I used to work on a lot of old Farmall’s and I would tell the other mechanics at dealership we’ll be gone and this old iron will still be here makes me feel good to see you taking care of that Farmall. It probably let some tired old horses retire!
The old tractors were overengineered because the designers didn't have computers, finite element analysis, etc. to refine the designs down to the minimum ounces of metal needed for parts to work and not break.
Tractors like that, they used them like mechanical draught horses, towing all the implements behind. Then, of course, they had the belt pulley for running standing machines.
The farmers round here (middle of the Netherlands) have a club of about 80 to 100 of these oldtimers and they make long tours around the neighbourhood a few times a year. It's great fun for all spectators because of their wide grins, but even more for the farmers because they pride in setting out routes along barely know roads and trails along fields and through the woods and other scenery. It's an awesome sight to see them racing by at quite a speed and then discover there are more of them, and more, and more..... it takes a long time to have them all pass by!

Nice! love old tractors. During the Summerin 1968-1974 my Uncle farm had a1939 WC Alice Charmers on his Farm in Minnesota. He had 4 or 5 different tractors that was my favorite. It was a farm for a Hobby, He leased his land out. Still was like Disney with all the animals and machines. love your enthusiasm with Machines.
Most impressed. The old girl was quicker starting than the pressure washer! and that was before you serviced it! I can't ever say I have seen an "upside-down" oil filter system before! you learn something new every day. And your golden boy is in his prime that was fun to see thanks

Love all your videos but the ones with these old farm workhorses really are special to me, and I’m sure to many others as well. They bring back a ton of memories to many different generations, and I don’t know about you but the sound of these old girls is a symphony of simplicity, music to the ears! Amazing how much these pieces of history could do with very little HP, but even more impressive was how these things could literally be worked hard and put away wet for several decades and need nothing more than some oil and a good cleaning of the carb bowls...which are hard as hell to find the glass ones when you actually break one and need it lol Nothing made today has the reliability and durability of the old machinery. And the putt putt as they breathe to life is utterly amazing (much like the music from your tandem International! God that beast sounds gorgeous! Probably the best sounding out of all your grown ups Tonka toys! I swear you could make a recording of you driving it around not even having to say a word and that would make for a great ASMR video lol. I’d watch it and probably play it as the best background noise ever as well lol) Anyways, enjoy and I hope to see more of these old tractors! Take care

Imagine, that when they made this tractor 85 years ago, none of the people that manufactured this machine are probably no longer with us. And yet, here the machine still is, running like new. They made old machinery run forever!
I don't think there would be a better owner for this Farmall than Andrew. After you serviced it and crancked the engine, I liked youe little smile when it started. Andrew, you work alone but you are definitely a team player. I'm a Canadian but I was proud to seeing you riding this beautiful tractor with the others on this 4th July parade.

Andrew, that is such a nice Farmall F12 you have there. Totally jealous. Those older tractors are such simple machines, easy to work on, and in their time, they were the workhorse of the farming operation. No hydraulics - big deal. If you had to pick something up - that is why God gave you arms. You had the tractor to pull the plow and other implements. Great video !!
My cousin in Canada has about a half dozen old Farmall tractors. I don't know how old, but I would say by looking at some pics I took at a family reunion a few years ago that they're maybe not quite this old.
Nice old F12,,,I have a 1938 F14. I have never seen a F12 with angled sterring shaft. Every IH book I read says all F12's had a straight sterring shaft from sterring wheel to the box. With the start of F14 in late 1938 the hp was increased to 14 & had a angled shaft like yours. You can put electric start on yours buy bolting a ring gear between the u-joints in front of the trans & making a bracket to hold a starter. Cheers
I had 2 F12s , a 34 and a 36. The angled steering shaft was only used on the F14 which started in 1938. Check the serial number for date of manufacture.

Throughly enjoyed it. Our town Lake Elsinore, Ca. used to have Western Days with a parade and event grounds when we were a small city of 2,500 but now their are days gone by. Great to see your Festivities, Blessings 🙌

I just busted up laughing when Andrew was yelling at his Dad an saying hey it started, it started right up and at the same time Andrews Dad kept on going an going as if he was on a Scenic Road looking at the fall color within the leaves.
Great to see this old gem still running, though think the front tires could be replaced, but then again you never use it expect for a parade. .but still...find it funny that Cody was voicing his idea about you cranking that ole girl..

I wonder if any of the other old tractors in that parade had had their oil and filters changed? I loved that you took the trouble to remove the excess gasket goo to prevent it coming loose and blocking an oilway. That would be like the tractor equivalent of having a stroke. BTW I know you take pride in making good quality videos, but it would be hard to overestimate how much your channel followers enjoy any content. It brightens my day seeing that you have uploaded a new video, whether it be directly on TH-cam or via the Facebook group.

Tractors of the good old days...safety last! We had some of these old tractors when I was young...I miss them. It was good to see several of the old tractors in the parade lineup.

That is one very very sweet tractor you have there, started right up as if it was new! What surprised me was the amount of people that watched the parade, here in the country where I live, on a good sunny day, we might get a couple of hundred people or so at a demonstration/parade , so a lot of praise to all the people that watched, they also keep history alive by wanting to see this which make it much more fun for us that has a antique tractor Myself and a friend owns a TEA-20 little grey Fergie, we are going to renovate the brakes, needs new gaskets and such in the transmission, bought new fueltank for it, new hoses, will get a new radiator too, and then it will run as new again even that it starts right away now too :)
1974 started working for I H dealership 1982 became a Ford tractor dealership,then 6 months later we acquired MF tractors , the TE had power steering and Ford sweet talked Ferguson letting them copy the (Ferguson system) they did make the Ford-ferguson tractor for a short time . Ferguson probably said that’s why Henry got me drunk at his home that evening. Ford came out with the 9n, 2n and the 8n all flat heads and still no power steering! For loader Equiped tractors. The TE’s were way a head of Ford at that period. Ford tractors finally got there act together in the 60’s,70’s80’s90’s then Fixitagaintony got involved 😝 jst kidding 🙂 I’m color blind when it comes to old tractors. Take care and God bless
That was a really good idea I've used RTV sealant before but never thought about taking something back apart and cleaning out the ports to make sure that the oil would get through or gas that was a really good idea another great video those tractors when I was younger were used mainly for plowing and disking and they had wheels on the disc and a plow that she would pull a handle to lift them up and the power takeoff on the front we used to use a lot for running a grain augers for moving grain into the silos and into the feet then when we were doing feedlot cows good video and it's nice to see an old piece of equipment running still

When I was a kid we had a Farmall Super H. No 3-point hitch on that either, but it did work pulling a disc harrow, pulling a trailer, and plowing the driveway. Not saying that you should put the F12 back in service, but they can do real work.
They work well on flat land, but are down right dangerous on a slope, even if you have the front wheels spaced out as far apart as possible. The guy across from my shop was killed when one rolled over and an uncle was seriously hurt the same way. My dad had an old Ford tractor buck the front tires several feet off the ground on his ppty. He traded it for a 4x4 New Holland Boomer a week later.

that was some nasty looking oil, definitely needed a change , Ive heard the blue stable doesnt break down over time like the red stuff. the blue is the marine stuff. thanks for all the great content and dont change a thing

My Dad's Brother use to buy old farm equipment, repair and repaint them and then resell them. He made a very good living at it. He lived Binghamton, NY

Cool a Farmall. My bro-in-law inherited one on a property he bought and I thought it was awesome and got to reading about it and it’s connection to Chicago. I have since forgotten everything I read but it was really interesting
It's interesting noting how some locations only have certain tractor brands represented. Obviously, the Saugerties area had mostly IH, with some minor representation from Ford. There were no Deere's or blue Ford's in the lineup that I could see. Here locally, we have an unusually high amount of David Brown tractors, because of a specific dealer back in the 1970's. There's a lot Deere tractors, quite a few Ford's and IH's, but no Allis Chalmers or Oliver tractors.
We have lots of Deere, IH. Case, Allis Chalmers and a few MINNEAPOLIS Molines. You don’t see those very often. My hubby used to have a Waterloo Boy. Its in a museum somewhere now.
A quality video. I got to see you make a seal and I've never seen anyone use that stuff to do it. You are such a good asset to your community. You know what over 1 million people think of you on the internet and that's just the ones that subscribe! My sisters Australian sheppard is 5 yrs old now and he still won't bring back anything when we play fetch. You reach for it and he runs away thinking that's part of the game. I sit on the lawn and don't move and then he brings it back. I bought him a heavy duty frisby. I think it might be made by Kong. His other Kong toys are the only thing he doesn't completely destroy so everyone buys him that brand. As always, thanks for sharing these videos with us.

Yup. What amazed me was that none of the rtv stuck to the filter bracket: it was all on the engine block.
The last year parade was postponed-for no reason...

What you should do Andrew. Look for a wide belt-driven pump for that tractor to use on job sites or transfer liquids in remote areas.
@garrath cooper a saw mill for fire wood, would make more money in his area. Transfer pumps are cheap, and he does not move alot of liquids.

The F12 never had the elevated steering or the long brake levers but lots were converted later.

I was so worried about the oil filter gasket. Then you pulled it off the next day and trimmed it to a perfect gasket! Nioce!
I wonder if any of the other old tractors in that parade had had their oil and filters changed? I loved that you took the trouble to remove the excess gasket goo to prevent it coming loose and blocking an oilway. That would be like the tractor equivalent of having a stroke. BTW I know you take pride in making good quality videos, but it would be hard to overestimate how much your channel followers enjoy any content. It brightens my day seeing that you have uploaded a new video, whether it be directly on TH-cam or via the Facebook group.

Tractors of the good old days...safety last! We had some of these old tractors when I was young...I miss them. It was good to see several of the old tractors in the parade lineup.

@@AndrewCamarata this was a great video. My father has several Farmall tractors (BN, 2 F-12’s, H, and an M). It’s really interesting to me even seeing basic maintenance done. It was great seeing it in the parade as well. It sure ran well. Thanks for sharing this.

That is one very very sweet tractor you have there, started right up as if it was new! What surprised me was the amount of people that watched the parade, here in the country where I live, on a good sunny day, we might get a couple of hundred people or so at a demonstration/parade , so a lot of praise to all the people that watched, they also keep history alive by wanting to see this which make it much more fun for us that has a antique tractor
Myself and a friend owns a TEA-20 little grey Fergie, we are going to renovate the brakes, needs new gaskets and such in the transmission, bought new fueltank for it, new hoses, will get a new radiator too, and then it will run as new again even that it starts right away now too :)
1974 started working for I H dealership 1982 became a Ford tractor dealership,then 6 months later we acquired MF tractors , the TE had power steering and Ford sweet talked Ferguson letting them copy the (Ferguson system) they did make the Ford-ferguson tractor for a short time . Ferguson probably said that’s why Henry got me drunk at his home that evening. Ford came out with the 9n, 2n and the 8n all flat heads and still no power steering! For loader Equiped tractors. The TE’s were way a head of Ford at that period. Ford tractors finally got there act together in the 60’s,70’s80’s90’s then Fixitagaintony got involved 😝 jst kidding 🙂 I’m color blind when it comes to old tractors. Take care and God bless

That was a really good idea I've used RTV sealant before but never thought about taking something back apart and cleaning out the ports to make sure that the oil would get through or gas that was a really good idea another great video those tractors when I was younger were used mainly for plowing and disking and they had wheels on the disc and a plow that she would pull a handle to lift them up and the power takeoff on the front we used to use a lot for running a grain augers for moving grain into the silos and into the feet then when we were doing feedlot cows good video and it's nice to see an old piece of equipment running still

So sweet! Thanks for posting that video! I love watching the old vintage tractors that still function. I'm sure you could still do a few things well with that.
When I was a kid we had a Farmall Super H. No 3-point hitch on that either, but it did work pulling a disc harrow, pulling a trailer, and plowing the driveway. Not saying that you should put the F12 back in service, but they can do real work.
They work well on flat land, but are down right dangerous on a slope, even if you have the front wheels spaced out as far apart as possible. The guy across from my shop was killed when one rolled over and an uncle was seriously hurt the same way. My dad had an old Ford tractor buck the front tires several feet off the ground on his ppty. He traded it for a 4x4 New Holland Boomer a week later.

that was some nasty looking oil, definitely needed a change , Ive heard the blue stable doesnt break down over time like the red stuff. the blue is the marine stuff. thanks for all the great content and dont change a thing
I've had red Stabil clot and plug up a carb, the Marine stuff is better. Seafoam is better still. I use 1oz per gallon in equipment that sits.

Cool a Farmall. My bro-in-law inherited one on a property he bought and I thought it was awesome and got to reading about it and it’s connection to Chicago. I have since forgotten everything I read but it was really interesting

It's interesting noting how some locations only have certain tractor brands represented. Obviously, the Saugerties area had mostly IH, with some minor representation from Ford. There were no Deere's or blue Ford's in the lineup that I could see.
Here locally, we have an unusually high amount of David Brown tractors, because of a specific dealer back in the 1970's. There's a lot Deere tractors, quite a few Ford's and IH's, but no Allis Chalmers or Oliver tractors.
We have lots of Deere, IH. Case, Allis Chalmers and a few MINNEAPOLIS Molines. You don’t see those very often. My hubby used to have a Waterloo Boy. Its in a museum somewhere now.

A quality video. I got to see you make a seal and I've never seen anyone use that stuff to do it. You are such a good asset to your community. You know what over 1 million people think of you on the internet and that's just the ones that subscribe! My sisters Australian sheppard is 5 yrs old now and he still won't bring back anything when we play fetch. You reach for it and he runs away thinking that's part of the game. I sit on the lawn and don't move and then he brings it back. I bought him a heavy duty frisby. I think it might be made by Kong. His other Kong toys are the only thing he doesn't completely destroy so everyone buys him that brand. As always, thanks for sharing these videos with us.
