  • Today I'm sharing a review of the Sezane Scott Trench Coat. I was looking for the perfect classic trench coat to add to my capsule wardrobe. In this video I talk about design details, fit, material and care. I've also written a full blog post that goes into more detail and has some similar sustainable trench coats. Let me know if there's any other brand you'd like for me to review!

    It's really nice that you reviewed the trench coat after having it for a while. It really gives me an idea of what your experience has been like I think! I usually buy from Sezane since I like the quality of the clothing and the styles (although I will say I'm a little picky when shopping as well). Not sure if I'm really gonna get a trench coat or not but I definitely appreciate how thorough your review is!

      Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful! Yeah, a trench coat is definitely not for everyone but I'm quite a fan. ☺️ I like the quality of Sezane too.

    Hi Jessica! Just FYI, in France, what we call Khaki is actually a brownish green :) I've noticed in America Khaki refers to more of a beige color (which always confuses me).

      OMG I was wondering about why the khaki looked greenish Thanks for the explanation.

    I really love the redo of the colours and furniture in your bedroom/office. They really capture the colours that you also use in your minimal wardrobe. Everything is so soothing and beautiful. It inspires me to create a little bit more beauty in my own office. And as well, to create a little more beauty and gentleness in the colours that I use in my wardrobe.

    I already have this coat but I still really enjoyed your review! :) With regard to the little details: there is also a little extra strap buttoned to the inner side of the belt that keeps it attached to the secret inner belt loops that are located in the center of the back, so that it would be very hard for the belt to slip off :D I really appreciate this kind of attention to all the little details!

    I've been looking for a warm toned trench and they are surprisingly hard to find! I was looking at the Everlane classic which is currently sold out and second hand Burberry, but this one seems to have a lot of the details I'm looking for. Great review!

      Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful! And I know what you mean, it can be surprisingly difficult to find the right color. I've linked some similar options on my blog post, including a gorgeous Cuyana trench. 🤗

    It looks very nice on you! I just received mine in khaki color in size 32. Love the fit, but did not receive a dust bag:/ Is it water protected? I mean if exposed to rain. Material does not feel like water resistant. Best regards, Kristina

    Hello! Thank you for your review. How would you say the fabric is like? I prefer a sort of stiff and durable fabric for trench coats on the outside and I'm worried that the fabric is soft and malleable

  • @alexandrapatricio2727
    @alexandrapatricio2727 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really find your trench coat beautiful. I also prefer the more stiff and classic ones and this looks beautiful on you. I just bought one from Marks and Spencer, also to the classical side but in a cheaper price. I am almost eagger for Outomn in order to wear it.

    I just recently purchased two trench coats and the thing I notice about trench coats is that they are oversized. At least the ones I got. I normally wear a 44R in Suit jacket/Sport coat. I got a 44R in a trench coat and it doesn’t look bad but it is roomy especially around the torso down. It fits my chest up to my shoulders perfectly. Now I just recently got into Trench coats and found out they are supposed to be oversized. Now the other trench coat I got in a 42R and it fits me perfectly but I still like the 44R fit to even though it is roomy it gives a different look when I wear it. In any case good video and I will be subscribing.

    • @JessicaHarumi
      @JessicaHarumi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You make a great point! I've started shopping by fit rather than sizing for other pieces in my wardrobe too, as I typically like a more oversized fit. I do think a trench coat looks better oversized. This also helps with layering it over bulkier pieces like knitwear. Oh and btw, love your Kerry James Marshall profile pic! 😄

    hi jessica, lovely review! thanks for providing further insight into this lovely piece. have you had a chance to wear this in some drizzly weather? how does the fabric respond? i see that it is cotton, but also dry clean only, which surprised me a little bit. does the coat repel or resist water at all in your experience?

    • @JessicaHarumi
      @JessicaHarumi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Erica, I'm so glad you found it helpful! I would not say this trench coat is waterproof or even water resistant. It's more ideal for transitional weather. That said, the cotton is quite heavy so if you wear it in a light rain you'll be okay for a bit. I hope this helps.

    Hi! Love your review! When it comes to sizing, when you say size 6, is that a pants size or dress size? I'm a size 6 in dresses and size 14 in pants so I'm not sure which one to use... Thank you 🥰👍🤍

    • @JessicaHarumi
      @JessicaHarumi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the sizing is a bit confusing. I believe it's comparable to dress sizing or anything you would wear on top. I always recommend consulting the sizing guide for the measurements associated with each size, seeing as each brand is different.

    • @JessicaHarumi
      @JessicaHarumi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jen, thanks and sorry, I'm not able to measure the sleeve circumference but they were pretty standard in my opinion, not too wide, not too tight.

    I like that one but I like the rain guard flap on the back. Provides more structure, I recently bought a preloved Burberry mens black quilted trench but wanted a lighter khaki color in women's. I found a Ralph Lauren trench on sale but I really like your coat..enjoy😊

    Unfortunately, Sezane is becoming a fast fashion brand. Their clothes are very expensive considering the overall quality. They offer new pieces every week which for me is not better than other brands like Zara, H&M, etc. Some of their clothes are made in China as well as other brands. I purchased one item from them and had to return it. It was a bad experience. I had issues with their Customer Service as well. The cardigan came in a box without any wrapping. A few years ago, I purchased a pair of shoes from Massimo Dutti. They were so carefully wrapped! They even added a beautiful cotton shoe bag and the invoice was in a nice envelope. The trench looks great on you though!

    • @JessicaHarumi
      @JessicaHarumi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience shopping with Sezane. I also consider them more of a slow fashion rather than a sustainable brand for some of the reasons you've mentioned.

      I tend to agree. Brand which cares about environmental should not release collections every week... So far I was lucky with quality. Best regards, Kristina
