Comparison between Haval H6 HEV vs Haval H6 2.0L AWD and Corolla Cross 1.8X vs Corolla Cross 1.8X Hybrid. I do not claim ownership of the pictures of the vehicles used. A few points to note though:
- You are assuming constant fuel prices ... but we usually see fuel prices going up over a span of 5 years.
- The electric motor adds a nice kick in large hybrids when you get off the mark ... I'd argue that makes it a slightly more fun driving experience.
- In a city like Lahore ... with its smog ... it is in everyone's collective interest if we had more hybrids and electric vehilces 😅
Ev and Plug in hybrid makes more sense if charged at home with cheaper rates at night. BYD Sealion 6 and BYD Qin have upto 80km on a single charge, enough for a day of city commute. Enjoying my BYD Atto 3 for now. Full EV is the future

,if you say both hybrid and gasoline are sold after 5 at same prices then we can say one who bought hybrid haven't save any money

It's a good basic analysis, but i think the comparison should be extended to 10 years. If i buy a brand new car and take good care of it, I will like to keep it as long as it doesn't give me any trouble and it does the job. Whereas if i just use and abuse the car, i would like to get rid of it in 2 to 4 years when the paint is still shiny. Also, you need to add other costs. For example, non-hybrid will need starter and alternator replacement at some point, whereas hybrid dont even have these components. Additionally, in hybrid vehicles, there is no timing belt. Also, they have an electric water pump and an electric ac compressor (less load on the engine). Moreover, in a hybrid car, the engine is not running all the time as compared non-hybrid. Imagine the wear and tear in a non-hybrid engine after 10 years as compared to a hybrid engine. I am not biased towards hybrids, but all i am saying is that this comparison only considers fuel consumption figures, whereas in reality, this comparison can be a lot more complicated. I hope my comment makes sense.
Do take into account the cost of battery replacement compared to alternator, starter timing belt etc.
@adnanameenkhan6475 i agree that hybrid battery replacement is costly, but Toyota Japan has an official warranty of 150,000 km or 10 years; whichever comes first.
Most hybrids outlive this. For example, I own a 2008 prius, 270,000km driven, still running on the original battery pack, and I am getting a fuel average of 18 to 20km/litre.
Hybrid technology has improved a lot over the years, and with the right maintenance, they can easily last double the warranty life.

In my opinion the main advantage of a hybrid system is better driving characteristics it can add to an ICE power train. A well executed hybrid system can makeup for turbo lag as well as provide better lower end torque. I personally think not offering AWD in H6 is a lost opportunity even though it would make for worse fuel average but the car would offer a much improved driving experience which would more than makeup for it.
Dude you will sell the hybrid variant for the same price it was bought for or even more, meanwhile you save on fuel as well. Look at it as an asset which is cost efficient in terms of fuel, with no impact on ur investment. If you invest more with a hybrid car ull save on petrol. But if you invest in non hybrid car you spend more on fuel. Meanwhile u would be reselling both the cars for the same price which they were bought for. So ure frankly in loss with the non hybrid. But that is only if u have the top up money to invest in a hybrid version.
A car is never an asset.
but in our hearts we know and are attracted to the fact that the hybrid variant has more power and more features/options than the standard variant
Haval 2.0T and HEV have exactly the same features. HEV just has 2 more radars than 2.0T. And power delivery and drive wise 2.0T is better because it's All Wheel Drive.

The only expense I have done on it it is of battery which costed 140k

You're totally getting it wrong. First you're comparing local Hybrid which to me you're right it's waste of money and to be honest hybrid SUVs doesn't have good fuel average anyway. So if you want to save fuel and going for SUV it's nonsense. 80 lac ki gadhi mai kya fuel save karna hai.
The real deal of Hybrid is in the Hatchback section. I bought aqua 2018 for 33 lacs back in 2021 the same car now costs around 50 - 55 lac. I drove it 40,000km if I calculate my savings VS a civic of that time. Given that I got 22 AVG and in reality I got more than this and consider fuel per liter even around RS 220 per litre. It's 4 lac for fuel cost / 40,000km
Compare it to Local 1.6 Altis that I was thinking back in those days as alternate had avg of 13 good case scenario. Corolla would have cost me 6.7 lacs / 40,000km
Both the cars have roughly the same value nowadays keep in mind I used to run my car at 180 on Motorways and still it got me avg of 22 overall you can't get that with Corolla never and in city you usually get 25 - 35 very easily. Battery change should never happen we have another Aqua at home that's 2014 and the battery is still running and even if you need to change its not more than 1.5 lacs if changing cells.
The real reason people go for JDM + Hybrid is insane resale value and quality. Use local corolla for 5 years and compare it with 10 years old JDM corolla JDM corolla you'll be amazed. Repair is easy, even parts are cheap I installed Cruistronics for RS 1500 in my Axio Hybrid 🤪for 800 I bought the foglight controls for my Aqua. My car got hit by corolla once from behind the bumper is still scratchless you can't say that about a local car. In terms of resale value JDM Hybrids such as Wagon R Hybrid, Nissan Note and Aqua they are unbeatable value vehicles.
So the hype is not for Hybrid but for JDM + Hybrid actually which our Pakistani people have misjudged and going crazy after Haval H6 which is a bubble just let it burst in a year when they realize they have bought an outdated technology for over a crore the new era belongs to PHEVS and in that Chinese are going to rule even BYD Sealion is outdated the new Sealion has DMi technology which is a game changer.
Bro aap na hybrid ko zaroori ha Altis 1.6 sa comparison kren Mera pas 2022 ma 35-45 lac ka budget iss budget ma mujhe aqua ya Prius milni thi jis ma battery tyres paint Matlab sub ka issues tha uss na expense increase krna tha and hybrid ki average long pr 15 to 16 ha max then I prefer Suzuki cultus bought it for 26 lac brand new from dealership believe me new cultus ki average city ma 17 to 19 ha and Motorway pr 120 ki speed pr bi 19 to 20 ha 110 ki speed pr 22 ha and 100 ki speed pr 23 to 24 ha Jo ka cultus ka size ka lehaaz sa and power ka lehaaz sa best I agree ka quality of Suzuki is a shit but cultus and alto he aesi gaari ha Jo apki proper fuel saving krti ha cross overs ma and sedans category ma hybrid Lena ka koi maksad nahi
@@MuhammadAbdullah030 The reason I'm comparing with Altis is because in 2021 Altis 1.6 and Aqua both were around 30 -35 lacs. Considered Suzuki swift but it has terrible avg.
Yes buying Prius in that range is not worth it only go for either Fresh import or Brand New. Might be Cultus has better AVG but please do check it properly lately Suzuki is doing big fraud in their meters it shows 6 - 7 + avg while in reality it isn't. This happened with one of my friend he thought Swift is giving 20 avg and when we calcualted it was around 14km/l so don't Trust that.
If a Prius is giving 16 AVG throw it to thrash can. From Aqua on Motorway I can get 24 - 26 avg but only if I drive 105 - 115 without cruise. In city it can get you 25 - 35 very easily. And if I drive on motorway around 130 then 22 - 23 AVG. On 32 litre tank I get 750KM of range which is ok for me.

19 is a very good avg if that's the case then why do even people buy 660cc? I loved Swift the new one and I was convinced to buy it but when I did my research found out meter doesn't show actual. Yes quality might be compromised but at least it'll be new.

15k km driven is not a realistic figure unless you have multiple cars at home.
People drive twice as much (30k), 3x (45k) and even 4x (60k) that figure.
In the case of Haval hybrid if you drive 30k (conservative but still a more realistic figure) km a year, in 5 years you will have saved up roughly 16.5 lac Rs.
Calculated at 15 kml fuel average to adjust for battery degredation and lower mileage.
This offsets any costs for battery replacement.
Basically with a hybrid, the savings are higher the more you drive.
Also the resale value of the cars has not been taken into account. Even after depreciation, the one with a higher starting price will sell for more than the one with a lower starting price in similar condition.
Corolla Cross is a bad example of a fuel efficient hybrid so I won't get into that. You can get better options.

I have a hybrid, the worse the traffic, the better mileage it does. So the hybrid will do it's best average for you in rush hour traffic.

You have made your calculations on the basis of 5 years period, extend it to 10 years and feel the difference. Moreover there is a psychological (positive) impact of having a low fuel consumption vehicle...
