I've had more Christmases alone than with others. I don't mind it. I buy my favourite flavour of crisps, dip, a bottle of red wine and settle in front of the telly. I always make myself a tiny Christmas dinner. Some chicken, spuds, carrots and sprouts. Gravy, cranberry sauce and I treat myself to a piece of pumpkin pie. I eat alone, and I enjoy it. No worries, tomorrow is another day. Life goes on. 🙂🇬🇧🇨🇦

I have a Christmas tradition: I always hike in the woods. I need a break from all the people and get out in the woods where it's quiet and peaceful. If it is snowing, all the better. There's nowhere as peaceful as the woods in the snow when it's so quiet you can hear the snowflakes landing.

Feeling blessed this morning. Had my dog at the veterinary hospital yesterday, she was really sick with what turned up to be a bad bladder infection. $750 Australian spent but she slept with me last night and she's a lot better this morning. We'll be back doing our early morning walk maybe tomorrow. Love your videos mate, your positivity is infectious. What you share really does make a difference in this world. Peace and love my friend

I lived in Belmont as a young child. We rented a cottage at the foot of Winter hill. It was accessed up a winding private road with sheep roaming around. It was called Grange cottage and belonged to the local farmer. It's still there, but it's a big country house now. We were only there for about a year because my mum felt isolated, and she thought the house was haunted. This was after the plane crash when a plane flew into the side of Winter hill in poor visability. But it was a magical playground for a child, and I have lots of happy memories from my time there.

    • @primalengland
      @primalengland  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

That would be the plane that has a monument at Lead Mines Clough. I just Google earthed Grange Cottage. It really is out of the way. I followed the road back to the main road. I’ll keep my eyes open for the access when I go to my mum’s on Tuesday. ❤️

I must admit that I like Christmas for the goodwill factor alone. I have no other feelings but a feeling of inner peace. The decorations are just an excuse for a bit of bling.
My father was a lay-reader, and the only disagreements we had were over my going away from religion as I grew up. I see myself as an Agnostic, or as I describe myself, a ‘cowardly atheist.’ I hedge my bets.
Having said that, the best memories of Christmas were those of childhood, with nativity and church services.

We don't' celebrate christmas at all. Or birthdays or anniversaries or any set thing people expect really! We just give each other gifts whenever, or do nice things for each other as the mood hits! Folk think that sounds sad but it's ever so much fun, if you love those things, then do those things, but if not then there's not a shred of force that makes you HAVE to! Another great video, Nigel. You are the one channel that when I see you have a new post, I must watch right away. I see in my internet travels that a lot of people feel compelled to state their opinions like they are 100% fact, and if anyone dare challenge them then it's on to arguing and name calling. I'm just smart enough to know I don't know a great many things, and that there are many people smarter than I.
If I'm on the interwebs, I want to relax and have fun, so if I'm compelled to comment on a video, I try to be positive/humorous. I'm kind of the comedic relief in my family, and tend to deal with things with humor. But I have noticed that sometimes people take my attempts at humor the wrong way, so I try to be careful with my posts. Or maybe I'm just not that funny. lol

Lovely walk, 🍂🌞and yes, you are the centre of a very special community!🤗
To think about Christmas with this beautiful coulourful foliage is only a bit crazy. Indeed I discovered some adaption of the Flylady programme for me, adapted by a clever Scot in Copenhagen: Diane in Denmark. I have already started preparing for Christmas - 3 minutes a day. At the moment it is only assessing what you have/will have to replenish ...
But on a more spiritual than practical note: I look forward to Twelvethtide! In Germany we believe Wilde Hordes will fly through the nights, many smoke out their houses with incense ...
you do no washing/hanging, it brings bad luck to the house!
Some do tie special themes to each night ...
It is an especially spiritual meditative and reflective time!
(Maybe you could muse over assigning a theme to your daily walks, old hippie that you are?😏)
    Hugs for Molly 🍂🐕🤗🌳🐦‍⬛🍁

A tragedy in my life made me realized how inappropriate that greeting is for everyone, every day. Henceforth, I would make my morning trek around the department greeting the staff with an informal, soft, melodic, "Hey Ms -----, or Hey Mr ----", calling each by name. Later I was told by several employees that they appreciated me personally acknowledging them with genuineness instead of the expectations handbook greeting.
