This is very true. stronger balls are meant to help get the through heavy oil patters. If it is a light oil pattern the ball will start the hook and roll phase too early and burn up all of its energy before hitting the pins.
Just because you have a certain ball doesn't mean you can't manipulate it. You can have what you call a strong ball and a weak throw or rotation or release.
You should've shown how a weaker ball is performing in this lane compared to the gem, it would be a great way to sum the video (was actually waiting for it hehe)
Had this happen a few times towards the end of this past season. Lots of bad series brought my avg down from 200 for first time in years. Sanded my Phaze 2 too much.
@@janproshopchannel I have two of them and for some reason at the last month of the season, I thought it would be good to sand it down to 800 grit dull finish. It started hitting the 3 pin constantly and made me wonder if I forgot how to hook the ball. It was my thinking that I needed to sand down when I should have polished it.
Thanks for your comment! “Hook stop”(or Roll Out) is about hooking too early front to back, such that when it hits the dry, the curve doesn’t continue and goes straight at back-end. Hope it helps!
@@janproshopchannel Yeah most people think strong means it hooks more left to right. I had a storm summit and it was so strong that it burned up and rolled out no matter what I did.
wait a minute, what is the solution to the problem? I'm guessing a weaker style ball that gets into the roll phase just before the impact with the pins or put a higher grit surface on the ball that you are already using so it can get down the lane a little farther?
Thanks for your comment! This video aims to show the characters of a rolled out shot. If I stand at 35 boards and side hook in oil, viewers won’t be able to see any difference compared to normal shot. Hope it helps!
@@janproshopchannel yes so the problem bowlers have is they want to skip all the steps in know what they can do. They need to grow by practicing, learning from others, trying different equipment, and testing changes in approach, rotation. If they cannot identify what they are doing wrong, even videos won't help.
Bowling first problem is the bowler. The ball is the tool and the lane is the setting. 90% of bowling is the bowler. So easy to buy a ball and bowl on the same lanes as other bowlers. Biggest difference is the athlete. Lol
I amid that using a wrong technique in good ball is a common problem. Either we may change our technique Or change the ball on particular condition - I don’t agree that one is more important than the other.

This is an eye opener for me. I always thought a strong ball on dry lanes would hook too much but this has explained a lot for me thank you

I did, next video is coming
@@janproshopchannel awesome! Thank you
haha was hoping for that too. Still, awesome vid.
Weaker ball on light or dry lanes are better options??
Thanks for all your support!!
An excellent demonstration of this phenomenon! Thank you for the video.

Phaze 2 is not the type of ball hooking stop easily. Try solid asym and you will know the disaster.

Thank u I learned a lot from ur practice…😅😅
Great video as always!
Cover strength determines front to back, not really side to side.

Mind = Blown!
I thought my black widow 3.0 was trash
You aren’t the first one
This is Like 69, but I do agree with this actually since I tested this theory out myself on dry lanes, and it did NOT come back at all.

Bro you sholud watch all his videos, he had a video pertaining to your question..

U can adjust via balls or line. Or manipulate your release.

Just bowl better
@@ns671fr True but sometimes you’re fighting against the ball. I can make any ball work, but the right ball allows the most natural shot.
