Annapurna Base Camp - Part 2: Battling Leeches and Rain in a 20 km Trek

In this thrilling and challenging second part of my Annapurna Base Camp series, my adventure takes me on a 20-kilometer trek from Pitam Deurali to Choumrong. The journey proves to be an ultimate test of endurance as I battle the elements on a heavy rainy day.
From the very beginning, the rain proves relentless, pouring down on me as I venture through the lush forests and steep trails of the Annapurna region. With every step, I am met with muddy paths and slippery rocks, making the trek all the more physically demanding.
As if the rain wasn't enough, I have to combat another formidable adversary on this expedition - leeches. These tiny creatures, fueled by the damp conditions, eagerly attach themselves to my skin, testing my courage and resilience. Each encounter with these persistent bloodsuckers becomes a small battle of its own, adding a thrilling element to the already challenging journey.
Despite the heavy rain and unwelcome leeches, the stunning beauty of the surrounding landscape never fails to captivate me. Towering mountains, gushing waterfalls, and vibrant flora create a surreal backdrop that keeps me motivated to overcome every obstacle along the way.
As the trek progresses, the trail leads me to the village of Choumrong, a welcoming sight after a grueling day of battling the elements. Here, I find solace and a chance to rest, reflecting on the difficulties faced and the incredible resilience I've developed throughout the journey.
This second part of my Annapurna Base Camp series stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of adventure and the determination to push through adversity. Despite the heavy rain, treacherous terrain, and relentless leeches, the experience proves to be an unforgettable and exhilarating chapter in my trekking endeavors.
