The hard candy one might be super fun at music festivals, you could let people take their favorite flavor. The necklace would get lighter the more you give away! 🥳
I’m Spanish and in my family we have this tradition that at 12 am on the night of your birthday we wake up the person and give them a lei with their favourite things on them and then sing happy birthday . It’s one of my favourite memories from my childhood .
"babe what's wrong, you've barely touched your snickers lei" 😂
I loved receiving this kind of Lei. It is so thoughtful and beautiful
Look at you at the end, all decked out in gorgeous candy like some statue in a shrine - love it!
Flamin' Cheetos Lei, Emmy knows EXACTLY what is near and dear to the Undergrad's heart, lol
Im polynesian and learnt something new! Its been a long time since i was gifted one of these leis but im so happy I will be able to make one now ❤
An awesome Pacific Island tradition done beautifully Emmy! 😍 Well done!
Hi Emmy,
Thank you so much for being here and making content for us. I'm having another rough one and I was about to do something and said "wait, I need someone here with me" and I went straight to youtube and typed in your channel, and now I'm actually crying in relief. You really do a lot to brighten my day and I know you do the same for others. Thank you so much for sharing your fun and love with us, I needed it so badly today.
You did a great job taking care of yourself by coming here and finding comfort!
I bet the kids were happy after this post. All that candy🍬🍫🍭
What a fun project, can be adapted to so many events. Edit for spelling)
Graduation season !!!
Even better than candy is all the amazing graduates standing up for humanity. Free 🍉 🍉 🍉!!!
This video takes me back to old school Emmy in the best way. I've always loved this kind of succinct content from you!
Emmy! I used to make these for all of my classmates except with Christmas candy. I had no idea anyone else did this. What a core memory you just unlocked for me!
I learned so much from your show. I love your show, thank you for teaching me so many cool things.
This is so adorable! I have never seen or heard of it. I wish I’d known in time to make one for my nieces and nephews, but you can be sure that from now on, I’ll be doing it for my daughters, student teachers, etc…Thank you for your original, fun content.
My wife and I had a Hawaii theme wedding. We invited families and wanted something to give to the kids. I told my wife about the candy leis we used to get in Hawaii. We used Hawaii/Japanese candies. They were a big hit.
Just when I thought Emmy couldn't get any cuter your thumbnail for this video is adorable.😄
Brings back memories when I was a child.
Those were absurdly charming!
Many got simular stuff when I graduated eh way to many years ago. We just tied a ribbon to the candy wraps so we don't use lots of extra plastic for nothing. It's allready wrapped. Or glue to the wrap and the ribbon. Also easy to eat with it all still around neck
very lovely, the colors are nice
Wow. Absolutely no one did anything even remotely similar for me. Truly. Never in my entire lifetime has anyone celebrated anything I ever did, nor my birthday. I cannot even imagine how I would react to such kindness.
Here we can buy the cellophane tubes or mesh tubes to make candy lei be creative you can put quarters, snacks, anything you can think of into a gift lei.
I've done this technique on a wire frame ($tree has several shapes) can be theme like the red white and blue i just did for 4th of July, Labor Day or memorial day! I'm leaving up year around bcz that's how patriotic I feel these days!
The will be cool for a birthday person or even a bridal party/bachelorette!
So festive and happy! 🌻😁
So cute! Love these!
Yay! Thank you so much for making this video Emmy!! 👨🏻🎓❤
Oh, my! I thought this was something that Guam, Hawaii, and other islands did during graduation! How wonderful to think that other countries do this too. 🎉🎉🎉
🍬🍬🍬 Time to celebrate! 🍬🍬🍬 Such a cute idea. Thanks, Emmy ❣️
These are so much fun to give 🥰
When we were kids, my mom made holiday wreaths using just two styrofoam wreath forms, a ton of hard candies, and a glue gun. They were on our double front door for the whole holiday season. 🍬
Love this!! Thank you!
So beautiful! FYI..... lei is singular and plural..... no "s" to indicate plural
This looks neat and a fun DIY ❤
So cute and fun! Wonder if there’s a way we could make it without all the single use plastic
I read the title as DIY lies 😂 to be honest, im actually excited it's candy lays 💚
This is so clever!
🍬🍬🍬Time to celebrate!🍬🍬🍬 Thanks, Emmy.
Oh we love a craft queen!!
You're so creative 🎉🎊
Love this😁
So cute for birthday parties: give them to the atendees as they're leaving.
Mmmmmmm snacklace!!!! 😅😂
Great idea !!!!
❤ Nice, so EASY to make..
YUMMY!! Love these.. ❤
I think I'd personally love the Flamin' Hot Cheetos lei!
Thanks Emmy.. so stinkin' cute!! 🍬
Great idea ! Thank U 🙏🏼
Oh so cute ❤
This is making me jealousss all over again lol my cousins all got candy/money leis when they graduated, but I moved away from hawaii before I graduated so I didn’t get the super extra celebrations 😩
I love this!! My step daughter just graduated and we just had her grad party over the weekend! But these are great!
I feel like with the jolly rancher one, you could cut up drinking or boba straws and use them as spacers or beads so you don't use so many?
Cute!!!! ❤
Great job. I will make my granddaughter one thanks
"🍬🍬🍬Time to celebrate!🍬🍬🍬" :P
Here at 1 minute 🎉 so excited for this video
These would be pretty cute as garlands too.
This was really cool
We used to make these when I was a kid in Hawai’i.
I’m going to make one and give it to my son for graduating 5th grade :)
Just made some last night for a little one's graduation!
Always wanted to know how to do this!!!!!!!
You're the best! 😂😂
I love your t-shirt!!
That's an awesome t-shirt 😊
🍬🍬🍬Time to celebrate!🍬🍬🍬
ok now a video of taking one candy out of each lei lol
Only thing I'm thinking about is the last time I had jolly ranchers (from a huge bag like that too!), and welding my teeth together to the point I couldn't open my mouth for about half an hour, those things are lethal... :P
I’m going to try making one with AirHeads for my sister. ❤
Those are great Emmy. Can you show us the various ways to make the different styles of money Lei? Thank you
Always appreciate your hard work and inspiration ❤😊💐🫶
That looks heavy 😂
I imagine the Tootsie Roll or Jolly Rancher ones would be nice keepsakes even after the candy is consumed. You wouldn't need to take it apart to remove eat the candy, and the leftover wrappers would still be colorful and voluminous.
I love it!!!! This will help me for next year 8th grade graduation. I’m wondering how can I add money to the airheads lei 🤔
Emmy!
How much fun this would be vitntage candies (such as Zots) be?!
Nice
It's almost June, graduation was weeks ago.
❤
When you take an Aithead from the ~paperchain, you've broken the whole thing?
How stinkin cute. I'm doing the cheeto one for sure
❤❤❤
I love your content, graduation is a meaningless event
I'm literally on lei duty! Thanks for tutorial!
Whoo hoo! C:
The airhead one was literally my favorite one ❤️😍
Greetings!
OMG...Candy Lei was my drag name!
What size chip bags are those?
Does anyone have any idea how long one should be for kindergarten so a five-year-old?
The ones with Jolly Ranchers or Fruit Tootsie Rolls must be heavy.
This is cute but my sensory issues could never
Don't fall asleep with it on. You'll wake up covered in ants.
Emmy, thanks for showing us how to do the candy necklace I love that.
Hey, what are you wearing? Eau du Toffo 😂
I wouldn't wear a chocolate lei myself because my body heat is too much!
I want to eat all yummy
Do people who live in hawaii actually wear leis or are they just to point out who the tourist is👀
People in Hawaii actually wear them, they are traditional and used celebrations and other events. May 1st is lai day.
Graduation lais are extremely popular. Like all the craft stores atm here are filled with supplies to make graduation lai. And you will even get lai made our of money for graduation.
There are even artists who make really complicated beautiful lei.
@@LifeLostSoul thanks for the heads up! I'd feel a bit awkward about wearing something like that if I were not a hawaii native, like cultural appropriation
oh, but "frito lei" was a missed opportunity for a Very Nice pun....
I dunno, I think the F-lei-min' Hot Cheetos looked like a lot of fun! Haha
That's hilarious!
🤣 Both good!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
😂
@@lenileaver3983 Hileirious, even! XD
