- This week in worship we hold the awkward tension between the joy that we celebrate with because Christ is Risen, and the grief we hold because protectors and law enforcement systems continue to cause unnecessary deaths of black and brown people in particular.
It is awkward. And tense. And in these awkward and tense times, we are invited to lean on our faith. What are the gifts and practices of our faith?
Forgiveness. Reconciliation. Prayer. Changing our ways.
In this awkward tension, we are invited to remember our faith, to lean on our faith, and to practice our faith. Come, join in worship to both cry out to God and to rejoice in the promise that God does not leave us alone in our confusion and loss.
Gospel: Luke 24:36-53
Second Reading: Acts 1:1-11
Worship leaders:
Rev. Michelle J. T. Lewis, Presiding Minister
