    Lecture Notes:
    1. Don't try to force the italian melody, let it come out naturally.
    2. Vowels - a e i o u
    3. Two sounds of e
    i. Open e, like in egg
    ii. Closed e, like in hay
    Tip : The e which you're stressing is usually the open e. If e comes at the end then it is closed e. Accent are exceptions.
    4. Two sounds of o
    i. Open o, like in Cost
    ii. Closed o, like in cozy
    Tip: Stressing --> Open O.
    Tip: ie --> open e (generally)
    Tip : TRUST YOU GUT.
    Good Luck.
    (Question: What is Good luck in Italian?)

    A very important and useful video. Every learner of Italian should view it.
    To Americans learning Italian I want to say this, though. Watch the shape of his mouth when he is demonstrating the various sounds. For example, how he smiles when he utters the closed "e" sound and how his mouth is rounded when he utters the open "e" sound. Put your mouth in the right shape and hold it there while you speak the vowel. If you do that it will help you get an "italian" sound vs "American trying to speak Italian."

    I speak French and Portuguese and I'm now beginning to learn Italian. I didn't learn French or Portuguese in a formal setting like at school or university; I picked them up whilst living there and with a lot of help from my friends. This really helped me because i realised when I was trying to read or practice Italian words I was pronouncing a lot of words incorrectly. I noticed when I was trying to pronounce some words I was saying them with a Portuguese accent coming through by stressing the last syllable of the words.
    Thanks, great channel.

    While my brain isn't able to decode the meaning of the language so far, my soul and spirit react to it in the same way as when/if something extremely pleasant (like a bouquet of beautiful flowers) is being given to me. :-)

    After lesson one yesterday I was listening to Italian and I heard what I thought was two different sounds for the vowel E . It drove me CRAZY . I thought maybe the speakers were either sloppy or they came from different parts of Italy. Thank you Manu for pointing this out .

    I LOVE your lessons. You explain everything so well. I especially like when you put the words on the screen in red and black. That is SO helpful! When looking at a word how do you know which syllable the accent goes on?

    • @italymadeeasy
      @italymadeeasy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ciao Kim! We are so glad you enjoy our lessons 🥰 in Italian, the position of the accent is flexible. Most of the times, the accent is on the second-to-last syllable, but it really varies word by word. We can only advice you to keep listening and practising and you'll start getting a feeling for the accent position 💪

    Ciao, Wow, sono sorpreso. Pensavo che sarebbe stato un grande incubo per me, ora sorrido. Sono un danese di 63 anni che vorrebbe trasferirsi in Sicilia con il mio figlio più piccolo, un maschio. Ha 27 anni e quindi vogliamo un nuovo inizio e una nuova cultura. Siamo stati entrambi molto malati e vogliamo allontanarci dalla Danimarca e goderci la vita in un clima migliore e in un paese bellissimo.😍
    Sono davvero impressionato da quanto sei bravo a far capire a qualcuno come tutto si incastra. Sì, sei semplicemente fantastico, un grande insegnante. Lotterò per questo, perché non voglio venire l'anno prossimo e rimanere completamente vuoto di fronte alla tua bellissima lingua. E voglio davvero poter parlare con le persone, anche solo un po', e capire meglio un po' della lingua.
    Non vedo l'ora che arrivi la lezione 3 domani.
    Ho ripetuto le vocali più e più volte per tutto il giorno e le parole che riesco a ricordare. Mio figlio ha riso molto e mi augura buona fortuna. Sì, ridi e basta, Emil, perché anche tu devi iniziare a imparare. E ovviamente lo vuole, perché credimi, lo conosco, non sarà come una pecora zoppa se sua madre può parlare con qualcuno. È anche volitivo e potrebbe parlare rapidamente un inglese perfetto prima di compiere 10 anni poiché abbiamo una famiglia americana e lo parliamo molto. Spero che tu possa leggere quello che scrivo qui usando Google. Altrimenti la prossima volta dovrò scrivere in inglese. Cordiali saluti Maria dalla Danimarca e grazie per ora.😊❤🍀🌻

    Pronouncing voices in Italian is not a problem for me as a native speaker of the Serbian language.
    We have the same vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and they are unchangeable.
    The only problem is that I can't say words quickly, It's like I'm stuck trying to run.
    But when I repeat one sentence more than once, it becomes completely natural to me.
    I'm finally going to be able to talk on the phone with my friend on a grate ride without anyone realizing a single swear word😊

    Is the open e sound pronounced where the back of the throat opens up more when pronouncing the letter ( you feel like you are adding more air to the letter or adding more height to the pronunciation) versus when the e is closed?

    As a swede I have advantages to! 😃 We have the same sounds for theese vowels. And we also have the R-sound. At least if you don’t come from some parts in the south of Sweden like Småland or Skåne. 😁 Å is btw the same as the Italian closed O. 😊

    Wow. One thing i really love about being a spanish speaker is how easily it is for me to pronounce Italian vowels but I will admit I need to look out for the O. Some words like Poco are spelled the same in spanish and mean the same thing. But spanish has closed Os while italian has open O and closed.
