The 300 and 340 were NOT nailhead engines. 1966 was the last year for the Nailheads, 401 and 425. It is true that the 300 and 340 was replaced by the 350 in 1968 however.
A shame so many Europeans will never experience a nice big American car with a bench seat and a nice wide fold down center armrest out on the open road. Like sitting on the couch in your living room.
That is why every single car like that appearing on our Munich streets in the sixties and seventies was to us boys even more exotic like a then rare and fast Porsche, Alfa or Bmw. Exotic also were gauges and switches. And totally ignoring any superior technical sophistication the V8 song was our dream to auto heaven. 😉
