It's sad to see a lonely tree. However even a lonely tree lives by God's mercy and care and love.🙏🙇❤🏡🌲

I woke up with Jeremiah 17:14 on my mind and decided to read the whole chapter. I so appreciate this explanation because I saw myself as that lonely tree because of hurts, pain and disappointment for relying on others who let my heart down. Learning to trust the Lord is where I am growing too now. God is not angry at us he is just telling us that it is best to rely on him come what may, he does not want us lonely or detached from his love and life.

I'm preaching in the coming weeks about being 'planted', and Jack's reflection here has provided such beautiful and timely insights to this powerful image from the Scriptures. Thank you so much!

It's nuts. You all read whatever you want this week into some old, adulterated texts. It's like reading Dr. Suess and saying it was a some crazy message from god.

He mentioned trees that would be found in the Judean desert. If the first tree is an acacia tree, what tree would the 2nd be?

Jack what version of the bible do you use and which one is your absolute favorite.

    • @N565VT

Hello Manny, I am always a little hesitant to answer the question only because my choice should not imply that I am favoring one translation over another. I spent more than 15 years teaching Greek and Hebrew to university students, so I can tell you that no translation is perfect. All have their advantages and disadvantages. And all are tools through which the Holy Spirit changes hearts and lives. With that lengthy disclaimer in place, I can tell you that I typically use the NIV translation.

Isn’t an Acacia tree used in building the tabernacle? The covenant box? Maybe the crown of thorns put on Yeshua since the covering over the box was made of Acacia. 🌳 💦

Yes, Dedicated to YAH! Thanks for pointing this out. 😊
