Hello. Is there any way you could show how does the backlight bleed on the white Palma show with light below 50% and dark mode on the Kindle App please? Many thanks, I'm torn between both models!
thank you so so much. I wondered about differences after researching on reddit. They kept asking of the person has a black or white palma 2. But I'm still wondering, is it the same issue as with the palma 1 that if you read in the dark the backlight is shining through the device itself? in the video it seems like they fixed at least that
In the dark the light indeed comes through the semi-transparent screen border on the white palmas (both 1 and 2), you can also check my previous video that is a bit more detailed.
Watch closely especially when I flip it horizontally it is visible, I have also shown it in more details and angles in my previous video when comparing 1st palmas. Anyway the choice is yours and maybe you will not pay attention to this line in the end, I'm just telling that it will be there on white palmas:)
It's definitely not worth upgrading but I wouldn't call it a flop. It's the same initial retail price and has a faster processor and a newer version of Android (personally I think the fingerprint scanner is totally unnecessary). I wouldn't spend to upgrade but buying for the first time it's certainly a better value than paying the same amount two months ago for the Palma. (That said, if I was buying today I'd probably advise getting the Palma for $34 cheaper.)
This is such a shame. I really appreciate you letting us know and testing this at your own expense.
This video is really helpful. Thank you for pointing out the issue of the white palma.
thank you!

Hi, I have already returned white one - for me the presence of black line was already a deal-braker.

I can't see a line on the screen at all because of the angle you're holding the device...

The Palma 2 is a flop. Only fan boys are raving about it.
Or those who own it and like it, or those who own the Palma2 and never owned the Palma 1. Not everyone is upgrading.
