Not at all comparable to the SmartDrive! The SmartDrive doesn't have downhill assist, rollback prevention, or hemi assist. It's controlled by a wristband, which is the biggest pain in the arse!! It can be great when it works properly, but it has consistently failed me when crossing streets and going uphill. It also bounces off the axle with the slightest bumps, like thresholds and curb cuts. I have hated it since day one and can't wait to upgrade to something totally different, finally, in the next couple of months. Jan 2022: ETA The SmartDrive now fails me multiple times each outing and as of yesterday, I can't use the damn thing at all because the stupid wristband (controller), which is only about 15 months old, won't charge or turn on at all. Thirteen pounds and $6000 piece of 🤬 JUNK!! There is an upside though, now my chair will be 13# lighter and easier for me to propel without that dead weight!
@@VulcanOnWheels you can adjust so one wheel makes up for strength differences. For example, my left is markedly weaker after a stroke and I really struggle with righthand turns and sidewalks slanted down to my left. With hemi assist, the left wheel will work harder so it matches my right arm strength. Does that make sense?
@@VulcanOnWheels I just trialed the M25 and absolutely hated it! The rep was bragging that there were 5 settings and 2 speeds, only one of which was okay to good for me, and with each change he made, I disliked it even more. I went from full pushes, to pushing 2-3 inches, to just grabbing the wheels. Each time, I said no, make it stop, make it stop! I felt very out of control, which worsened with each setting change he made. There would have been a BIG learning curve with the M25. The M15 I'd already tried was better for me than the M25, but still not good in comparison to the Yamaha I've wanted all along. The Yamaha is a better fit for me and my lifestyle, plus there's no learning curve. It's very intuitive and miles above the SmartDrive. Just about anything is better than the SmartDrive unless you're using it primarily outdoors or in big/long spaces indoors. I can't wait to ditch my SmartDrive, which has been nothing but problematic from day one.
The e-motion fits to many wheelchairs. However, to be able to make a precise assessment, we need to know exactly which wheelchair you are using. Your local dealer will also be happy to help you.
Great video but they should cut out the start, I minimised the screen as I thought I was watching an ad for prescription glasses!
Very impressive, I wonder how much each wheel weighs as my body is quite weak? 7.8kg each which is rather a lot but they do look awesome.
They weigh 25 lbs each and tbey stink
@@amymaher9243what’s bad about them?
This seems comparable to the SmartDrive. I wonder how they compare to one another.
1:48 *This* is optimal accessibility! :-D

Can I update the M24 to have assistance levels?
No, unfortunately this is not possible.
How to charge the remote control?
A battery is included in the remote control. This can be replaced by removing the cover on the back.
