My daddy died when I was 3 years old, my great grandma gave me a record with this song on it. My mom and I would sing it in the car driving down the road with tears streaming down our faces. Still makes me cry when I sing it 57 years later. Some day I will hug my daddy in heaven. Can't wait.

I have not lost my dad. But my grandpa died. And I saw my dad face it made me cry!!
I lost my dad on March 28, 2015. He was only 56. Even today, I still catch myself wanting to call and tell him when something happens. It makes me sad, that he's not getting to watch his grandchildren grow up. He was so proud of them.😪💙
My dad died when my daughter was born he got to see her tho ....imiss him and see alot of her in him .memories in my heart will be cherished.He taught me about the Lord most important .love u Dad.

I too pray every night that I might see my dad again, my dad passed away June last year he was in a care home for dementia, although he had dementia he still remembered and loved his family, covid robbed us of seeing dad in the last month's of his life, I am still heartbroken 💔I don't think I will ever get over it.

I lost my dad of a massive heart attack on July 23, 1985. He turned 64 on April 10, 1985. I miss him so much. I lost my mom on July 9, 2006 to pancreatic cancer. She had waited 21 years to be with him again. I was an only child so it’s still hard for me. God bless you.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is a really beautiful song and I just learned that I have cancer and a few other issues but I'm not worried for I kw my papa will be waiting for me when it's my time so I go thru my life as if there no pain nor hurt I Carrie on so my 10 year old and other kiddos don't see me in pain

Me to I lost my dad in 2015 i realy miss him so much
My Mother has always played music with her guitar since we were small kids. As we all got older her wish was to have a cassette tape made with her favorite songs. She included my 6-year-old daughter in it and they sang this song. She had some 50 or so tapes made and they sold out at one of her gatherings in the parks she would play at. My daughter sang that part so beautifully as she always got a standing ovation. My daughter now is able to play this music for her children now. Such a beautiful memory. God bless everyone.

This song reminded me of a past memory of my 5yr old daughter who passed away a month before she passed away. She had Cystic Fibrosis and was was concerned about what would happen to her Mommy, DADDY, and sisters when she went to heaven. It was avery weird? a question and very hard for me to answer. We lost her back n 1973, and to this day I 😢 her still but I know that she is free of the disease and watching over us.
