I SO LOVE that Kiran was given a blonde wig for the short battle scene he was allowed! That’s love right there! He’s IN!!! So very iconic & cool for him & everyone who got to be a privilege to be a part of that. The blonde wig was BEAUTIFUL, by the way!!!
The best thing about these videos is that they even exist. Other movie productions have done behind the scenes videos too, but like both the trendsetter and pinnacle of excellence he is, Peter Jackson has done it bigger, better and cooler than anyone else just for us geeks.
Orlando Bloom hasn't aged a day since LOTR, when I saw the clip of just him before hand I thought it was from LOTR not the Hobbit XD He look's exactly the same
I cracked up so bad. Didn't see it comming the first time I watched this. Loved it. Dear good old Orli in easy clothes with his wig on.... haha great ending to a great blog. Nice to see more inside stuff. The blogs are loved.
god I love the people working on those movies. Great to see Orli back in the wig. Ending of this blog was EPIC! haha and the Shouldn't you be directing a movie? comment nailed it
Well that isn't true. Legolas is not 4000 years old. He is way younger. When taking a closer look at Tolkiens information about the wood elves and Thranduil and about how Legolas has never been in lothlorien begfore it is safe to say Legolas is younger then 1000 years. He is younger then Arwen. The youngest of the better known elves in Tolkiens works. Still, he would be older then 500 so yeah, it does make sense for him to be there. :)
I love the fact these NZ vlogs always have a sense of humour. This is like Peter's other vlogs for LOTR and King Kong etc. Amazing amount of time and work that goes into these films. Can't wait for it's release. Interesting to see the cameras working at 48fps, this is what Mr Cameron is currently pushing into cinemas, and should improve the immersion massively. :)
When they were showing the trailors I was looking for Orlando's and hoping he would show up and let us in the trailor.. I feel somewhat sad now that I found out Legolas was there the whole time..
Really want to see Jackson do Silmarillion next. Would love to see the hosts of Valinor march upon Melkor in Angband, and see the rise and fall of Numenor.
Forget Legolas! I wore a huge grin start to finish, but I froze up when I saw Luke Evans. I can hardly wait to see his Bard -- or Tauriel, for that matter!
this is why people support good movie productions Lord of The Rings is an amazing sequel i remember seeing the fellowship in movies and it was worth the 3 hours its truly a good Movie and everything about it is awesome. takes an Army of people to make a movie. It truly shows how many people are needed to form such great movies
I refuse to believe that they are 'shooting' the Hobbit. In all likelihood they were just lucky to have a camera man at the right time at the right place in Middle-Earth ;)
He's the son of Thranduil, the Elven-King of the book. Therefore, it's probable he was present. He just wasn't mentioned by name. Apart from the king, none of them were mentioned by name.
Ahaha. I waited for Orlando to show up and then at the end, I was like; "HE WAS THE CAMERAMAN THE WHOLE TIME!" mind = blown.
"Shouldn't you be killing Orcs or something?"
"Shouldn't you be directing a movie?"
- EPIC WIN for Orlando against Peter. lol.
I wish Orlando was not in the trilogy. I think Simon tolkien laughed and didn’t think Orlando made a good elf at all and I agree.
The Kiran as Legolas part is hilarious!
"Shouldn't you be directing a film?"
That sass from Orlando
7:58 Thorin being taller than Gandalf looks crazy 😂
I love these blogs!

Kiran being Legolas was absolutely brilliant! :D
Weta workshop are a collection of some of the most talented and dedicated individuals on the planet - anything they work on is golden.

He is an elf after all.
5:11 Lord of The Ring,, beautiful memory~
As soon as I hear Kiran I got sooo excited, love him!
It's amazing how many people are involved in the making of the movies! Did it really take 7 some years to make it?
crazyskullz1021 no 2 years but they had been planning it for a long time with guilmerro del toro. There were sooo many people involved in it
Thanks for bringing us behind the scenes. That was amazing. My mind is officially, blown!

I love seeing all the actors with charcter’s beard, long hair dressed with hoodies and glasses 😂
I love the fact these NZ vlogs always have a sense of humour. This is like Peter's other vlogs for LOTR and King Kong etc.

Cool the barrel part is one of my favorites
12:41 Moment of epicness. LEGOLAS!!!
okay well especially the last part (no spoilers for those who havnt seen the video) shows how good peter as a director really is
We spend a lot of time being short.
They wanted us for our bodies.
Amazing.
these blogs entice me to want to watch the movie even more. good marketing strategy :)
When they were showing the trailors I was looking for Orlando's and hoping he would show up and let us in the trailor.. I feel somewhat sad now that I found out Legolas was there the whole time..
Love the dice in Peter's ride !
omg m so excited; i have never anticipated any other movie like this in my entire existence. m so excited.
KIRAN!!! Lord of the scale doubles, he has returned to us! =D
The Elves of Mirkwood do feature in the book, so it is entirely possible for Legolas to have been involved, he just wasn't named
They have to put all these Blogs on the 2nd Blu-ray. And I want an extented edition!!!
The Hobbit!!!! Peter Jackson, Crew, and Cast, amazing stuff
''don't look at me directly in the eyes'' Hahahahaha
This is so amasing. Imagine being a part of this
legolas wasn't in The Hobbit, but very excited to see how Peter incorporates him into the story.
Orlando... please reprise your role for the ENTIRE movie!! Please! Get Peter Jackson to let you!
Really want to see Jackson do Silmarillion next. Would love to see the hosts of Valinor march upon Melkor in Angband, and see the rise and fall of Numenor.
Very very interesting, great ending too.
Forget Legolas! I wore a huge grin start to finish, but I froze up when I saw Luke Evans. I can hardly wait to see his Bard -- or Tauriel, for that matter!
It's amazing how Orlando Bloom hasn't aged much. Good work on getting him to play an elf all those years ago casting!
I was gonna say, I like that they use some of the same scale doubles!
this is why people support good movie productions Lord of The Rings is an amazing sequel i remember seeing the fellowship in movies and it was worth the 3 hours its truly a good Movie and everything about it is awesome. takes an Army of people to make a movie. I refuse to believe that they are 'shooting' the Hobbit. In all likelihood they were just lucky to have a camera man at the right time at the right place in Middle-Earth ;)
Awesome!!! I loved it, it made my day and more!!! The ending was the best!!!
The guy is still quite young. While in your young years you don't change that much.
Haha, LegoSASS.

He's the son of Thranduil, the Elven-King of the book. Therefore, it's probable he was present. He just wasn't mentioned by name. Apart from the king, none of them were mentioned by name.

I love the background music
Ending nya KEREN.

Even more obscure: Thumb's up if you knew that Kiran was the body double of Jen in The Dark Crystal.
