No wonder. Typhoon is now 20 years old fighter jet without much upgrade due to lack of budget or interest. J-10C is upgraded few times for last 20 years, as recent as 2017. So in current configuration, J-10C has technical edge over Typhoon. Fight jet technology is constantly moving target. Without timely upgrade, any advanced fighter jet will be overtaken by later development.

Not true at all the Eurofighter was originally a interceptor before it became a air superiority and later a multi role combat aircraft designed long after dogfighting was no longer possible. The J-10 is a poor copy of the F-16, which was designed almost exclusively as a dogfighter in the 70's.
Typhon is a front-line multirole fighter in the Royal Airforce and is actively being used in the current Red Sea operations against Houti targets in Yamen. The capabilities of Typhon can not underestimated as compared to any other top-of-the-line multirole fighters in the world today. Due to its capabilities, Saudis and Turkish Ariforces are looking towards Typhon. In comparison, the Typhon is a Western aircraft and superior to the Chinese J10 C in all respects. But PAF pilots are second to none and this could be the differentiating factor.

The main reason it's PAF experience with western technology nd eastern technology as well.
Men behind the gun or machine are equally important. PAF pilots are second to none and the differentiating factor in these or any other exercise or real missions. PDF F-16 Block 52 shot down Indian SU-30 MKI in February 2019 due to the combination of a good machine and a good man behind the machine. That is the reason china developed more confidence in Pakistan and offered its 5th generation J-31 to Pakistan. I am sure the Chinese will be proud of Pakistani pilots using the J-10 C and make it famous and superior in the entire world.

The PAF is probably the second best Air Force in the world. It has a positive kill record against Soviets', Indians and even Israel. Its not just about the jets. Its about the whole arsenal and mission planning which is decades advanced then Qatar. Qatar will lose even with a Rafale. The real match will be between USAF with their F18 Hornets and Pakistani with the J10C.

yeah, if the typhoon didn't start all the exercises in a very disadvantageous position it's hard to imagine it losing 9-0 given the in bfm the typhoon has many advantages over the j10 (better thrust to weight by a large margin, lower wing loading etc.) bvr is a lot harder to say but i honestly doubt what those people are saying is all true.

In WWII, your statement is true. Soon after WWII, fair. Beyond the 4th, 4.5 and 5th, the plane's capabilities have an overwhelming effect on the outcomes. These are BVR combats and missiles that can go 3-4 Mach and do nasty twist at over 9g. Once you get fired on, your skills can't do shit to save your life. If you can't see shit, shit matters. 4.5 and 5th are all sensor competitions. You'll be shot down before you know what hit you.

The F22 is the most advanced western jet and is unmatched by any country. The only way a Chinese jet could of beaten the Eurofighter is if the Typhoons had either awful pilots, old radar or poor weapons or a combination of all.

@@jaaydenhuynh its being replaced by an even more capable airframe as the new 6th gen airframe is put into service. The f22 and f35 are the only real stealth fighters that exist at the moment. Both Russia and Chinas attempts to create the same capability are laughable with a far larger radar cross section

The only canard plane that I acknowledge is the J-10s. All the other canard planes are ugly.
Realistically speaking... fighter jets these days especially the 4th Gen, 4.5th Gen & 5th Gen are designed to combat in BVR engagements and gone are the days when a dog fight is required unless ofcourse you are out of ammunation and the situation happens to be do or die.
This then comes to a number of factors as always.... The jet ofcourse, The pilot who is flying it and the missiles it can carry.... Meteor and PL-15 are both deadly weapons..
And the plus point is qatar also hve rafale ,and paf pilots knw the pro and cons of rafale so they r doing good job

I am highly skeptical. Under what scenarios did the engagements in this exercise take place? For example, was it beyond visual range or within visual range? All aircrafts have their weak and strong points. There will be scenarios where a Typhoon with its weapons package will excel over a J10, and at the same time there will be scenarios where a J10 with its weapon system can out perform a Typhoon. A good pilot understands the capabilites of his aircraft and will then try to utilize the strong points of his aircraft to gain an advantage over his adversary in an engagement. The pilot who can best utilize the strong points of his aircraft will be the victor. Unless the rules of engagement in this execise is known it would be next to impossible to come to any conclusion.

I know this for a fact that during one of the Anatolian exercises the Pakistani F16s won out on another nations state of the art Eurofighters during dogfights. During another multi national event in the UAE the French 'umpire' especially reached the Pakistani side with "you guys are killing machines" message. They had sported their oldest (upgrades) fleet against some of the world's most modern arsenal. So I think news like these where the PAF won't open up on hold water. their block JFs outperformed Qatari Rafale few years ago, but again, the Paksis never open up on their achievements. They are kept as surprises.

Long range: J10 equipped with the latest/better electronics, wider range radar, longer air-to-air PL15 missiles(J20 standard equipped).
Short range: J10 equipped with PL10(J20 standard equipped), could attack enemy at rear mirror/blind spots.

Turkey did well they didnt go for J10s like Pak, and put more efforts to upgrade F16s, this way Turkey saved billions of dollars. Pak is getting 'poor' due to its inefficiency. Pak cud also save billions of dollars by upgrading its F16s, instead of buying J10s and spending billions, 'shame' 😁
