- On 22 November 2024, the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, in collaboration with the FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, hosted the FAO in Geneva Fisheries Trade Talks. The event highlighted key findings and messages from the FAO's flagship report 2024 edition of the State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture (SOFIA) 2024. This comprehensive report provides a detailed overview of global aquatic resources, fisheries and aquaculture trade and analyses of issues like illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, as well as small-scale fisheries.
Panelists from WTO, UNCTAD and the Permanent Missions of Canada and Thailand to the WTO shared country-level practices, strategies and innovations to support the Blue Transformation vision and contribute to achieving the SDGs.
