On the contrary, if you dont have log then its not old content for you yet. They need to focus on refining the years of dead content in the game instead of working on filling the game with new stuff just to keep you busy. There is too much wasted potential that they gloss over so they can feed you more mtx and unnecessary reworks on content that is relevant.

Bro, let's try to be logical about this, Having 500k worth of LP healing without losing an invent slot is powerful as it is. It gets even more ridiculous once you combine it with prisms. You can basically have infinite healing for the cost of a few prisms and 1 inventory slot. This is extremely unbalanced and will make designing difficult content harder when players have access to infinite amounts of healing Then it gets even worse when you combine the reavers passive with cinderbanes or bik arrow. Poison builds, which makes the reaver output more damage than a ripper demon while still having access to infinite healing. TL:DR, reaver has access to infinite healing and with certain set up also becomes the highest damage familer. This is impossible to balance.
Easily runs into the problem of a power creep. So rather than one overpowered thing, now you have ten. Which will impact all future content, as then it needs to be even stronger and even better (110 summoning will arrive one day), and it quickly runs out of control.

I am glad to see they're looking into making ezk not eof fodder anymore, it was always bizarre to me that a t95 weapon since day one was basically only useful as a spear enhancement. Also glad to see masterwork 2h may be getting a buff cause it stupid as it is now.
I would nerf the heal to 50%, so 500hp instead of 1k Lets be honest, if you set the autofire to 1 and drop a healing prysm, you ain't dying like ever, while still doing insane dmg, that shouldn't be a thing I'm just not a big fan of how long it takes for Jagex to nerf things, this should be addressed like a month after the reaver buff, not 2 years
imo i would take away the healing factor entirely and instead make it so it does damage based on when either the player heals or the reaver sacrifices life, atm it is a dps + healing familiar which is broken - it should be in the dps camp for the unique poison effect it can do.
Kind of speaks to how difficult balancing actually is. Unbalanced things can be ridiculously fun. Something in a game can also just simply be too good of an idea or feature, ironically making it become bad and a problem. Individual player fun Vs game health as a whole is not an easy topic to tackle, and ultimately players are very bad at grappling with the impact of power increases or shifts when it comes to their impacts on a games overall health. Blood Reaver rebalancing has likely been on the to do list for ages, but only really had it's priority only keep increasing when necromancy launched.
Ah the only gripe I have with this information/discussion is that when they released the t95 Magic dual-wield weapons they mentioned they would look into fixing DoT effects, not too thrilled that is on the back burner now. Otherwise this was great and I love all the ideas, especially buffing t95s so they’re not just thrown into EoFs, ah that always bugged me.
But what if we get more utilitarian / skill oriented spirits? They don't have to be combat spirits, we can call on anyone to help for anything, clues! rituals! gathering! etc.

Phantom Guardian is actually a decent conjure at Rasial, and I appreciate the niche scenario in which it fits. Besides the damage mitigation, by the time you've done your living death rotation at the start, Guardian should be at or near 25 stacks, giving you a free finger of death in terms of damage. Still hope that Rasial's skill tree comes to use at some point. Have him actually be a teacher for a change.
I feel like the old bosses shouldn’t directly have their drop rates adjusted. If anything possibly make it so they have a threshold for each drop that resets after you receive said drop, kinda like a bad luck mitigation mechanic that functions similar to the pet drop.
I think how they will change the reaver is by making not proc poison chance. Or they also might do is remove the damage on healing effect entirely, and potentially give it a brand new effect. Maybe it will heal you a small percentage on damaged done up to a cap. If they are wanting to do a more minor change, they could half the amount of healing the scroll gives when used or increase the cost of it.
Good to see the PVM team is starting to very closely follow that WoW design, just nerf things instead of bringing everything else up. What % of the population is actually doing PVM bossing that this warrants any nerfing? Just stupidity.

They usually take a minimum of 8 months before nerfing any type of current power creep changes so that us the player base to make full use of it. Nerfed animated dead, elite Dungeons bug where you could skip the dungeon entirely and farm the last boss, greater Ricochet, charm farming from glacor, effigies drop rate, Soul split when it came out, dreadnips, hunting skillchompas, Ring of Death are only a few out of 50+ mega nerfs
i feel like its the perfect reward to add as a bonus for completing sliskes endgame - you release sliskes hold on them and since as the player character you are making friends with the spirits it makes sense canonically as well
Oh yeah, the reaver is def busted. Plus, they implement late changes because they need to collect data on how certain additions impact the game. Def love old grinds getting easier. Grandpas will say, "When I played RuneScape, the abyssal whip was 2M which is-". Give it up fam.
That's incredibly annoying. I hate their random nerfs out of nowhere that no one asked for. Especially if they get rid of autofire. That just adds more apm to keep track of with other combat styles.

Player base is getting older. Need the grind to be shorter or players will drop off. Agree with nerfing older boss content or increasing drop rates to complete logs despite what any reeee in their moms basement thinks. Would also suggest more things like darkscape again. Similar to what WOW does with its seasons. Is different than normal grind and allows for people that grew up playing to pick up the again. Ideas: For darkscape/other seasons, could charge bond for entry. Could also have everyone start at max stats for duration of the competition and give rewards to main account.

I am kind of conflicted with the EZK future update. In my case I slapped it into an EOF as a switch for my masterwork spear when I wanna stack bleeds then switch back to lengs. Although I am curious to see what they will do to make the EZK more better I will more than likely have to choose on whether or not to use the zuk sword more than the leng set but also buy another Shard of Genesis.
WoW has a great approach to deal with older content; legacy loot. Something between that I'd appreciate. Would also make GWD armour cheaper. Especially appealing for mid-game players :D
I mean I think they have the right mindset and are looking at things in a good way as far as balance and getting rid of grinds. It’s just a matter of how Jagex lets the mods implement stuff
1. Summon reaver 2. Insert scrolls 3. Set autofire rate to 6 seconds 4. Put down prism of restoration to keep it alive 5. Survive most boss encounters with minimal skill or effort, or afk almost anything 6. Profit $$$$

I'm still praying that we'll get a Greater Blood Siphon that is just AOE damage + healing without the need of a target, the number of times I'd be doing slayer relaxed and my revo bar will pop a Blood Siphon on a 5 hp enemy just for my conjures to kill it and cancel the channel is so frustrating. Edit: Also a Greater Bloat as a threshold ability with a cooldown, please, I beg of you. Edit2: Also on that note, I wish we just had more abilities in general - Melee, Range, Mage, they have a bunch to choose from. Necro-based Stun, Necro-based no-cost DOT, Necro-based buffing abilities (akin to Sonic Wave/Conc Blast/Berserker), etc..
Please make the collection log from Barrows dont repeat the drops for the first time to complete the log and change the chance of Vitalis pet and Vorago's thereshold. These old contents have a lot of hours to complete the log with no reason anymore.
I have mostly stopped playing this game due to the grind and changes. Game play should be improved not diminished in any way. The best relationships in life are consistent. Take care everyone!

HM zuk is still a major pvm challenge. I do feel like powercreep has made it easier, but its still up there. Hardest bosses remain high enrage glacor/telos/zammy

I've been thinking about the upcoming 110 skill updates recently now that retro Primal armor is available as a cosmetic for a stupidly high 2m DG tokens and all the Daemonheim melee armor has been graphically updated. I'm still pretty miffed about the decision to just reuse Dungeoneering assets despite the fact it makes no sense -- inside Daemonheim you can mine novite ore with Lv1 mining, but outside it requires Lv100? What the fuck is that about? Why put new content on Daemonheim after it already got a graphical rework (at least on the surface) and is also a new Archeology dig site? Point is, I have a sneaking suspicion Jagex is just going to keep tossing shit onto Deamonheim for the other 110 skill updates. 110 Woodcutting and Fletching will be tanglegum to gravecreeper trees, found on Daemonheim. Runecrafting will be making salve to soulbell weapons and armor by picking "new" flowers...found on Daemonheim. Nevermind the fact that the Elemental Workshop quest line is still unfinished 13 years after the last quest came out and is the perfect place to craft magic gear. Nope, just reuse dungeoneering assets and chuck stuff on the surface. Dust off your hands and call it a job well done.
Sure, why not just keep adding adding adding to necro and taking away from the other combat styles, because necro hasn't made the other styles or endgame pvm irrelevant enough yet by having more utility than all other 3 skills combined, and way higher damage than any of the other three.

And the new conjurer slaps at 25 stacks, do ur rotation with living death and a death skulls before and at the end of the rotation it has 25 stacks and you do 2 3 autos in 1 ability, people sleep on it. And imagine all barrows brothers next to you, yes please make necro the best style ever

Hot take: I don't like the state of Necromancy atm. The way you upgrade the gear to 99 feels really weird and cheap. The way that it is spaced out makes little sense. It is HORRIBLY overpowered. SO much so that all the other combat styles feel off. I really think if they wanted to offer something this powerful like this, they should of made it as 99-120 magic and blended its training into other skills. The conjures come as part of over 99 training in summing. Darkness should be a prayer. Same for threads of fate. Deathmark, ext. The runes are over 99 and self explanatory. the Spells and damage come from 99+ magic. It just feals... off. I also believe damonheim should be a minigame. and NOT the main method of training. Personally I think that killing bosses should be how you train dunganering. With the kills per trip without teleporting be the "streak" modifier.
Na the AFK nature wil be the way the healing triggers a poison attack. If you want niche uses that is fine but you have NOT been doing the game that way for a long time. Even items you had a chance to do that with are so confusing things like Necklace of Salamancy works on DIno's apart from Raksha, Dragon Slayer not working on all dragons, Those volcano monsters. There are SO many items in the game that should have a revamp if they are going down this direction. Bosses are currently THE most important content in the game as they are the things that require the most interaction from players. Having these items and NOT haveing a consistent way to tell where they work is just wrong.
Thank God they will nerf the boss count, some bosses are too insane and time-consuming to get the full log done and drops of all old bosses feel greedy to cost per-use armour guns potions auras make more expensive then actually drops price
Neither will cryscape. And reddit-bitchfitscape. If something is OP, it should be nerfed. Especially if it is something easily abused by everyone with a functioing monitor. I am not always on board with niche .000001% of the playerbase nerfs that make something less enjoyable for the majority of players (basically I hate the high level pvm community balancing philosophy), but something like the blood reaver requires clicking a pouch and letting it do its thing and it has been known to be kind of broken for a while.
Yawn, what a surprise, Jagex once again ruining something after it has been in games for years. The FSOA was ruined because it was 'overpowered' (if you had every single best in slot end game unlock), then they released necromancy which is wildly more powerful with little more than the base T90 gear that is super fast to unlock. Then they release T95 magic that has a set effect that is unusable in group content. These people are utterly clueless.
I called the hero conjure thing foreverrrrr ago like when necro first came out and I'm hoping it does come out. Literally just pump out cool neat miniquests to unlock a hero and they could have so many of them and make it super awesome. Something like how you have all of the spirit ashes in elden ring where you just pick whatever one would work best or like the most. For a quick of the top of my head example to unlock the guthans hero conjure you could have to have done all of the main quests that involve guthans then you go on a miniquest helping him resolve his past and trauma with Ahrim maybe something combat related around that and then you have to sacrifice a full set of guthans armor to get an item which you just sacrifice at the well of souls to unlock his conjure and add his soul into um. Also super glad about the EZK refund I put mine in the eof back when it was stil like 3.5 billion gp and was super meh and upset about not really getting to use it like a real weapon :( new stuff being straight eof fodder is big dumb

Player base is getting older. Need the grind to be shorter or players will drop off. Agree with nerfing older boss content or increasing drop rates to complete logs despite what any reeee in their moms basement thinks. Would also suggest more things like darkscape again. Similar to what WOW does with its seasons. Is different than normal grind and allows for people that grew up playing to pick up the again. Ideas: For darkscape/other seasons, could charge bond for entry. Could also have everyone start at max stats for duration of the competition and give rewards to main account.

I am kind of conflicted with the EZK future update. In my case I slapped it into an EOF as a switch for my masterwork spear when I wanna stack bleeds then switch back to lengs. Although I am curious to see what they will do to make the EZK more better I will more than likely have to choose on whether or not to use the zuk sword more than the leng set but also buy another Shard of Genesis.
WoW has a great approach to deal with older content; legacy loot. Something between that I'd appreciate. Would also make GWD armour cheaper. Especially appealing for mid-game players :D
I mean I think they have the right mindset and are looking at things in a good way as far as balance and getting rid of grinds. It’s just a matter of how Jagex lets the mods implement stuff
i didnt even know reaver could auto heal lol, i just never used the scrolls as i thought the rapid fire poison was its main feature

I'm still praying that we'll get a Greater Blood Siphon that is just AOE damage + healing without the need of a target, the number of times I'd be doing slayer relaxed and my revo bar will pop a Blood Siphon on a 5 hp enemy just for my conjures to kill it and cancel the channel is so frustrating.
Edit: Also a Greater Bloat as a threshold ability with a cooldown, please, I beg of you.
Edit2: Also on that note, I wish we just had more abilities in general - Melee, Range, Mage, they have a bunch to choose from.
Necro-based Stun, Necro-based no-cost DOT, Necro-based buffing abilities (akin to Sonic Wave/Conc Blast/Berserker), etc..
Please make the collection log from Barrows dont repeat the drops for the first time to complete the log and change the chance of Vitalis pet and Vorago's thereshold. These old contents have a lot of hours to complete the log with no reason anymore.
I have mostly stopped playing this game due to the grind and changes. Game play should be improved not diminished in any way. The best relationships in life are consistent. Take care everyone!

HM zuk is still a major pvm challenge. I do feel like powercreep has made it easier, but its still up there.

If you put a fsoa or ezk in your rod that’s your decision and your fault. There shouldn’t be a refund for that

I've been thinking about the upcoming 110 skill updates recently now that retro Primal armor is available as a cosmetic for a stupidly high 2m DG tokens and all the Daemonheim melee armor has been graphically updated.
I'm still pretty miffed about the decision to just reuse Dungeoneering assets despite the fact it makes no sense -- inside Daemonheim you can mine novite ore with Lv1 mining, but outside it requires Lv100? What the fuck is that about? Why put new content on Daemonheim after it already got a graphical rework (at least on the surface) and is also a new Archeology dig site?
Point is, I have a sneaking suspicion Jagex is just going to keep tossing shit onto Deamonheim for the other 110 skill updates. 110 Woodcutting and Fletching will be tanglegum to gravecreeper trees, found on Daemonheim. Runecrafting will be making salve to soulbell weapons and armor by picking "new" flowers...found on Daemonheim.
Nevermind the fact that the Elemental Workshop quest line is still unfinished 13 years after the last quest came out and is the perfect place to craft magic gear.
Nope, just reuse dungeoneering assets and chuck stuff on the surface. Dust off your hands and call it a job well done.

Sure, why not just keep adding adding adding to necro and taking away from the other combat styles, because necro hasn't made the other styles or endgame pvm irrelevant enough yet by having more utility than all other 3 skills combined, and way higher damage than any of the other three.

I mean i can see them change the heal it has because it is overpowered in a sence that i could really just keep u up a 100% at a time but yeah scrolls will fly out, i bet they will reduce this to 500 or just drench it down to 250. And the new conjurer slaps at 25 stacks, do ur rotation with living death and a death skulls before and at the end of the rotation it has 25 stacks and you do 2 3 autos in 1 ability, people sleep on it. And imagine all barrows brothers next to you, yes please make necro the best style ever

Hot take: I don't like the state of Necromancy atm.
The way you upgrade the gear to 99 feels really weird and cheap.
The way that it is spaced out makes little sense.
It is HORRIBLY overpowered. SO much so that all the other combat styles feel off.
I really think if they wanted to offer something this powerful like this, they should of made it as 99-120 magic and blended its training into other skills.
The conjures come as part of over 99 training in summing.
Darkness should be a prayer. Same for threads of fate. Deathmark, ext.
The runes are over 99 and self explanatory.
the Spells and damage come from 99+ magic.
It just feals... off.
I also believe damonheim should be a minigame. and NOT the main method of training. Personally I think that killing bosses should be how you train dunganering. With the kills per trip without teleporting be the "streak" modifier.

If you want niche uses that is fine but you have NOT been doing the game that way for a long time. Even items you had a chance to do that with are so confusing things like Necklace of Salamancy works on DIno's apart from Raksha, Dragon Slayer not working on all dragons, Those volcano monsters. There are SO many items in the game that should have a revamp if they are going down this direction. Bosses are currently THE most important content in the game as they are the things that require the most interaction from players. Having these items and NOT haveing a consistent way to tell where they work is just wrong.

Thank God they will nerf the boss count, some bosses are too insane and time-consuming to get the full log done and drops of all old bosses feel greedy to cost per-use armour guns potions auras make more expensive then actually drops price

Neither will cryscape. And reddit-bitchfitscape. If something is OP, it should be nerfed. Especially if it is something easily abused by everyone with a functioing monitor. I am not always on board with niche .000001% of the playerbase nerfs that make something less enjoyable for the majority of players (basically I hate the high level pvm community balancing philosophy), but something like the blood reaver requires clicking a pouch and letting it do its thing and it has been known to be kind of broken for a while.

Yawn, what a surprise, Jagex once again ruining something after it has been in games for years. The FSOA was ruined because it was 'overpowered' (if you had every single best in slot end game unlock), then they released necromancy which is wildly more powerful with little more than the base T90 gear that is super fast to unlock. Then they release T95 magic that has a set effect that is unusable in group content.
These people are utterly clueless.

I called the hero conjure thing foreverrrrr ago like when necro first came out and I'm hoping it does come out. Literally just pump out cool neat miniquests to unlock a hero and they could have so many of them and make it super awesome. Something like how you have all of the spirit ashes in elden ring where you just pick whatever one would work best or like the most.
For a quick of the top of my head example to unlock the guthans hero conjure you could have to have done all of the main quests that involve guthans then you go on a miniquest helping him resolve his past and trauma with Ahrim maybe something combat related around that and then you have to sacrifice a full set of guthans armor to get an item which you just sacrifice at the well of souls to unlock his conjure and add his soul into um.
Also super glad about the EZK refund I put mine in the eof back when it was stil like 3.5 billion gp and was super meh and upset about not really getting to use it like a real weapon :( new stuff being straight eof fodder is big dumb
