    all these scientists and researchers are always talking about how they do these things because they want to help humanity. but some how, they always seem to forget who's giving them the money to do these projects. and the ones giving them the money are NOT interested in the least in helping humanity.
    they are ONLY interested in helping them selves gain tighter control over the rest of humanity. those funding these scientists and researchers are NOT decent human beings. they are among the most depraved.

    Treating depression with extreme techniques like drilling holes in skulls or implanting chips might grab attention, but they miss the bigger picture. True healing starts with the basics: food, sleep, exercise, and inner work. These are the real medicines. Sure, medications and surgeries might offer short-term relief, but they’re Band-Aids on a deeper wound. If someone’s diet is junk, their sleep is chaotic, and they never move their body, no medical intervention will bring lasting results. You can’t fix a foundation with fancy tools alone-you need to rebuild it from the ground up. Focus on what truly sustains the body and soul.

    • @bobros1337
      @bobros1337 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +13

      I agree to some degree BUT telling clinically depressed person that they should exercise and sleep better is just dumb. They can't do that, I used to have depression and nothing besides meds helped, I had a stay in hospital. It's not as easy as sleeping better, eating better, exercising. Sometimes you need medical help.

    • @QueenetBowie
      @QueenetBowie 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      Kind of an over simplification. I know plenty of people with depression who live healthy lifestyles including sleeping well and diet and exercise, and they’re still in a very dark place. There are deeper issues at play for a lot of people. Those are helpful, but they’re also not a magic pill.

    Mind hacking is the delicate dance between discovery and invasion, where the thrill of unlocking human potential meets the threat of manipulation. In this digital age, the mind becomes both a playground and a battleground-capable of transformation yet vulnerable to unseen forces. How we navigate this space will define the boundaries of our autonomy and humanity.

    The title "Futurist" should have a disclaimer with it that says... imagines and says things that are not entirely based in fact but sound cool. Let me just say this, YOU will never be able to relieve your memories the way she is saying. A brain recording to create an actual simulation that seems real is the best we will do there but to go in your mind and play a memory and experience like it is life again...NEVER. That isn't how human memory works. It is a network of connections that weaken over time. A distant memory you are fond of actually has very little side detail to it in your mind after decades.
    Go ahead and try it for yourself. Remember something very important to you, focus on it, and then try to remember the weather, the time, all of the people that were there, what season, what clothes you had on, or your pet at the time. The list goes on and on of minor details you'd think you'd remember but those should do the trick really. There is a caveat here, though... and that is your brain retains memories it finds important for 7 years and if you do not reinforce that memory and the surrounding connections, it weakens the connections formed to the point of deletion of the memory over time. The more cycles, the more the brain weakens unused connections. The farther in the past...the less detailed the memory will be until the memory itself, starts to lose connection. And once a neuron has an I'm open sign... it is open real estate.
    So, your memory is literally full of holes because that is how the brain works to stay efficient. Ever wonder why you can't remember everything? That's why. Your brain has to delete useless information, or it would have filled up in your youth and you wouldn't be able to remember anything else. If you truly want to remember something in full detail, then every 5 years you should sit and imagine it in every detail you can remember. That reinforces, but who does that, right? Anyhow...the future called...said this lady gets paid too much.

      That’s such a great project, tho I kinda dislike the technical circumstances. People should have "visiting museums" on their list of normal socio-cultural activities. And psychiatrists should orient patients towards all sorts of group activities (biking, dog walks, animal shelter building & maintaining, mountain trailing, etc etc) that are organized as natural convivial social activities, less as "therapy". But there are many sufferers of depression whose underlying bio physiological pathology requires advanced medical intervention. Sending them to the museum would be a slap on the face

    Externalities like sustainable technology, social support, and limiting poverty is the right answer to stopping depression. This tech only makes the world a more dangerous place, and at a accelerates the rate of that instability. Do something worth doing like informative mapping of network states needed for curing disease, rather than claiming depression is caused by network states, because the real root cause is more weighted in the direction bigger of externalities that induce these states. If you don't factor in real causes, you will only be masking them, and lying to regulators by claiming that you are solving problems. It takes a rational mind that looks at real world cause and effect relationships, rather than using peoples biometrics to enact psychological nudges by harassing people every momentum through information technology (you are not solving problems, you are hiding from real problems).

    Conveniently disregarding the past 50 years of psycho-analytical and neuroscience marketing - we can already detect a user's mood, biases, and statistical likelihood of future decisions. AI just makes technology accessible to public users. Villainizing AI and begging for regulation results in regulatory capture by mega-corporations.

    The first part talks about the ability to change your beliefs and the scientist's horror at the risk of losing control over them, but isn't this already being done remotely by companies like Meta? They don't need direct access to my brain, just my time, because they've applied all of science to figuring out how to do this. And then the second part and the Meta company is right there - but why?? How did it get there? Isn't it funny? In a world full of scientists with truly noble, sincere goals that are about to be told... the tape is always cut off.

      To the degree that it would be infeasible to simulate humans (I think that would likely require neuromorphic chips instead of current hardware) the AGI should probably become our keeper, care for & take joy in our wellbeing. We’re so much smarter than birds but I’ve never heard anyone say "we’re here so birds are now obsolete". If simulating humans (phenomenologically not just functionally!) becomes possible then AGI would probably unlock the ability to experience what it means to be human, instantiate all sorts of simulations, maintain countless virtual human lives. It depends on whether there’s any value to the social dimension vs one single unified mind.

You vote for people that will represent you and the one with the most votes gets the job as a peoples representative but the government is run by professional people with specific jobs you don't vote on. this works if the majority of wealth is concentrated in the hands of lazy heirs but not when smart inventors start creating imbalance by changing the game too fast to adapt.

    Remember that company Motif (Motif neurotech) and the CEO Jacob Robinson. This seems like a company that will go down in flames in a few years when it's proven that their tech is just an electrostimulant and offers no tangible benefits. You can tell that the CEO seems almost desperate to answer any question in a positive way and as generalized as possible.

    Oh? Eyebrow raising ideas about brain enhancements. Keeping in mind that when it comes to our biology I am a layperson, what troubles me is as we are working on amplifying/enhancing beneficial elements of the brain, what costly ones, possibly unforeseen and difficult to manage changes might arise. We have world leaders and a future world leader who are hosts to harmful pathologies, yet who are under the impression that they are fit. What if those aforementioned categories of human beings have access to brain enhancements. That makes for a future that will greatly increase human suffering. As like with LLMs, some technologies appear to create far more costly effects to a greater number of people, e.g., job displacement for almost every skillset, than beneficial ones. I would love for people who have health challenges to be aided by various technologies. I do not wish to witness people with harmful pathologies, e.g., psychopathic personalities, become enhanced. Will there be mechanisms in place to stop even world leaders with pathologies from gaining access to brain enhancements.

    Science might work, but it's unnecessary. PersonalisedTRIGGERS can get you into flow state immediately. Once psychology engineering/software gets going these lames will be history.

      The whole point of the lockdown was to build a control grid. Mind control was the apex of the experiment. Reducing people to drones, like something out of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
