Cool demonstration. It's kind of odd that a synth from 20 years ago seems to have more advanced sample options than what Roland sells today. This 'elastic audio' feature look very useful!
Hi! I repeated your preset 1 to 1 using a sample from the Arturia "Emulator II" plugin by uploading it to the Native Instruments "Form" plugin. Great sound!
@@theMIDImaniac I did! And I had so much fun and made a nice patch from a sample of one of my other instruments, and put together a little tune from that even. It was so much fun. thanks for the inspiration!
Screaming out my name & say sElastic Audio is next level!tick to the point - FOCUS! LOL I say the same thing. Elastic Audio is next level! I agree & I think the EMU Command Stations (I have the Proteus-2500 w 4 ROM cards) has some thing like it, because the way it can play the samples like a kick or snare at a low/high pitches but i won't sound distorted like when doing that on most samplers. Opens up all kinds of sonic worlds!
Happy New Year @johnAlchemy! Thank you so much. I also missed the HWJ-group. Just had some issues what kept me away from making music and videos. I have good hopes for 2023 ;-)
Great tutorial Rogier! Michael Cretu would have jumped in the air at his enigma time 🙃 The VP-9000 was already a great sampler, the V-Synth was a great further development.
@@Kosmokatze_de oooh!!! This is new for me! I was a huge fan of Sandra and Enigma too. Wonderful synth music with a typical sound. Thank you for that info.
That's a difficult question for my as I don't know the HD-DLX. Main question is: what do you want to achieve? What are you looking for? What sound/workflow. I love the XT and the V-Synth OG. I didn't love the GT because it was even more complex and just too much.
@@theMIDImaniac I'm more leaning towards my live DJ sets/mix projects, and creating sounds, not just ripping records to make musical collages.I kinda balked on the VSynth because when i got the money,I invested in other things. The last thing I got was the Polyend Tracker..
It is super easy to do basic sounds with. But it looks daunting as there's so so many options. I've had it for a few years and beyond classic synth sounds, I don't yet have the muscle memory to know "if I do X, it'll create sound Y" for unique capabilities the engine offers.
Welcome to the era of Roland when they started to release units with Operating Systems like this one. The MV-8000/8800, the VS-2400/2480 and the V-Synths are from that time and you notice it :D :D But you get used to it. In fact, modern machines or software do use these functions now too. That's why I understood the Maschine pretty fast.
I understand what you're mentioning. It takes some serious time before you understand the functions. In fact, the V-Synth combines old school analog synth techniques with new school sampling techniques and then this huge load of effects/COSM with numerous options. In this video I only touch the surface of the units.
@Devon Detroit It certainly looks dated due to the lower resolution and iconography; however, it is surprisingly logical and easy to work with after a bit.
Grateful to still have V-Synth tutorials in 2023, thanks and subscribed! 👍😊👍
YES MANIAC IS BACK!!!!So happy your back! I can't wait for more videos!!!
Wow! Thank you so much! I'm totally dedicated to upload more vids.

Hey Rogier .... 'The Maniac is Back' ... Thank you, another great inspiring tutorial video. keep them coming please, so helpful.
Thank you so much! You're always giving me support!
I will keep on uploading videos.
Mostly based on reactions like yours!

Keeping the V-Synth alive! I gotta make space and pull mine out now. Thanks!
Make space! Do it! It is such a wonderful instrument!

This is some quality content. That flute is iconic from tracks like Engima’s Sadeness (I think it came from the Emulator II library)
Thank you so much! Indeed, that flute is bringing back so many memories.
Roger my man good to see you! iam going to try it out on my v-synth as well. :DDDD
Heeey @bram9498! Good to see you too. Long time ago😅
Yes, try it.
I’m thinking about sharing the used samples on my website.
What a timeless sound!
Indeed! I was scrolling through my Zero-G archive and suddenly I found this sample. Memories!!
Sounds fantastic.... God i love my GT.. :-)
Keep that GT! I understand that you love that unit.
I couldn’t get with it but I understand that people love the GT.

Cool to see where version 1 of Native Instruments Kontakt got it's inspiration from.
That's nice to know! I didn't know that at all. What I do know is that Maschine is mostly based on the Roland MV workflow.
gahhhd i wish Roland would bring back elastic audio! if they threw that in a fantom it would be no question for me
🤘🤘🤘 we missed you ❤ happy new year !

Man that sounds good! Im gonna hunt myself a vsynth i think…😊
You should! You will love this unit. It has so much to offer!
Great tutorial!!
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
HNY Rogier!!🥂✌✌✌
Heeeeey @lookapi ! ! Happy New Year to you too!
Great video
Thanks a lot!

Thank you @Kosmokatze_de! For sure Michael would jumped but what he did was already mind blowing!
@@theMIDImaniac of course, certainly one of the musicians who shaped my taste back then. also the music with his wife sandra 😁

Thank you for this great video!!
Hope you can make a video on Roland U 220 rack to show how to layer sounds on this unit.
Thank you so much for your question. Unfortunately I don't own the U220 so I can't show that.
Yeah I’m GASin’ for a GT
Great video. A small note: Peter Gabriel actually played a real shaku rather than using this sample.
Wonderful addition! I didn’t know that at all. Great artist, that man.
Do you think the VSynth XT can merge well with the HyrdaSynth Deluxe or should I find the GT keyboard??In other words...Vsynth , HD, and PC chain..???

Does anybody know where to download the sample.wav from?
Hi will upload it on my website.
Will inform you asap.
