Let me get this straight: the Stormcasts are an elite order of Dark Souls protagonists who quite literally ride the lightning to execute the enemies of Space Odin, and longtime fans expect me to hate them?
Got my first army of them awhile back to get into AOS and have only kept on appreciating them to now fully loving their aesthetics and lore. Very Cool and have distinguished themselves from just being "sigmarines" to now wholly their own thing.
“Stormhosts can differ like Hallowed Knights & Knights Excelsior” Boy I’ll say, those two hosts of reforged merciful doctors vs ruthless witch hunters are as different as (Hallowed)night and day! …that joke’s funnier if you know Excelsiors use a flaring sun iconography of the rising Sigmarabulum(where Stormcasts are made) up to their white reaper Lord having a exploding sun mask.
Also I get why they made the Stormhost weapon & unit preferences bigger variables to go with the looser weapon rules as mostly cosmetics but for me Celestial Vindicators are frost and foremost master swordsmen favoring bladed weapons(especially Vanquisher celestial greatswords) to reflect how they hone themselves as living weapons and worship the Lord of Blades(the former Runefangs that made it to the Realm of Metal & gained sentience to meld into a order deity) ⚔️
When you get a chance can you do a video around the bone and briar box set please. I know it’s small but your lore videos are second to none and I would love to see your opinion on it.
Oh I missed the chamber order suggestion at the end. I vote: Warrior chamber as heroic intro Vanguard chamber to see the more flexible side of the Stormhosts with scouts & light cav Extremis to see our big dragon bois soar in Ruination to see “retired” soul-scoured ancients march back in, shrugging off the worst powers chaos can throw at them And Sacrosanct to note their renewed purpose in keeping the Stormcast souls stable after centuries of battle & resurrection over and over again Also maybe a side bit on the Relictors? Not really a Chamber but they have their own Temple of Ages and necromantic backgrounds to safeguard the souls back to Azyr 💀
Would Love to hear about the Knights Excelsior…the “cleaners” if you see them, it’s usually not good. Fell in love with them in Realms of Ruin…what was the humming you were doing?
Thank you! I was always confused by how these folk organized themselves. The 3.0 battletome chart just confused me more. Also, Hallowed Knights please!
I've had a Tempest of Souls box sitting in my pile of shame for a while now, with intent to one day paint them up as the start of my Stormcast army. (Yes, I know the Sacrosanct Chamber has been -banished to Legends- returned to Azyr; I intend to run the army in Age of Fantasy, so it doesn't matter). What I've grappled with is what color scheme I intend to use. Initially I thought going lazy and doing "Stonecast", and then I thought of doing a "Greycast" (a different thing). But I think I've settled on my own OC Stormhost concept: The Tarnished. What typifies the Tarnished is their origins as a rogues, liars, scoundrels, sneaks, criminals, and even some outright traitors to their former causes. Or otherwise warriors and other folk who employed what most cultures would consider "dishonorable". But, as is the Stormcast way, there came a time in mortal life of each member when they stepped up and did something unambiguously selfless (even if they'll still insist it was for selfish reasons). Like every Stormcast, they made the ultimate sacrifice, redeeming themselves in the eyes of, if not history or other Stormhosts, then to Sigmar himself. Basically, an entire army of scoundrels with hearts of gold. What happens when the Rogue shifts Alignment to Good at the last minute, and gets forcibly class-changed to Paladin. But still with a Rogue's sensibilities and approach to war. The Tarnished are Sigmar's tool for waging asymmetrical warfare. They don't break themselves against a castle wall, they tunnel underneath it. They don't meet enemy champions in open conflict, they ambush them in their tents or on the road. They lay traps, sap walls, bribe mercenaries to switch sides, and employ a complex web of underworld contacts. To other Stormhosts, the Tarnished are at best necessary evils, and at worst honorless reprobates, no better than the enemies of Order. Consequently, the willingness of Stormhosts to fight alongside the Tarnished is proportional to how pragmatic - or desperate - they are. For their part, the Tarnished think honor is a sucker's game. Sure, they're on the side of the angels now, and are committed to that cause. But if innocent people are under threat and the enemy have no low to which they won't stoop, it's senseless not to respond in kind. (They're also just generally more sympathetic to the "Little Guy", because they often WERE that person in their former lives. Few of them were the scions of noble lines, party to privilege and chivalry.) (For paint scheme, I'm thinking armor of Tainted Gold from Army Painter, and some mix of browns and dark greens for the rest. Maybe with some verdigris for extra tarnish.)
Have you featured Yndrasta? She's like an awesome momster hunter. I've only read her book though i wonder if she has any other books. Neve Blacktalon is like a.. glorified assassin lol. Please feature more heroes and on what book we can read them! Thank you!
Can you make a video of the ranks of a stormcast From celestant prime with Ghar maraz To lord celestant To knight arcanum To knight. .... and so on down to libartors and vindictors

They also go hollow in a sense
And they have dragons and cute bird-dogs! I don't get the hate either, they're rad.

The only faction I collect. I came in with SC and I’m going out with them lol
Weird right
Just won a Bronze in Armies on Parade with my Skaventide Stormcast and now I can watch more Stormcast lore! Sigmar has blessed my evening.
Congratulations!
@Hewrin88 thank you! I didn't even know until the stream was running and everyone was pinging me, so it was a nice surprise 😂
Love hearing about the Anvils of the Heldenhammer. Really hope to see their lord commander one of these days!

Voting for Anvils of Heldenhammer.
Just read the new book and they are really cool.
Homie, editing issue at 04:37, seems like you left an outtake in
Ah bummer, thank you for the catch
Merely Hallowed Knights chanting, surely. 🎶
I was sure it was intentional...
@@ce4879 ONLY THE FAITHFUL!
Yeah, multiple moments of you meditating
Anvils of the Heldenhanmer please.
I love the animated Blacktalon and I wish more people wanted to do fan-projects for the is universe.
Thanks for making this. Amazing faction!

I got introduced to this faction in Realms of Ruin. Great lore video, thank you.

I gotta go with my favorite Stormhost…The Astral Templars! It has one if not one of the most famous Stormcast, HAMILCAR!
My vote is for Celestial Warbingers, coolest lore!
Voting for Anvils of the Heldenhammer, been painting these since I started AOS 2 and a half years ago, such a fun lore faction
Astral Templars and Sigmar’s greatest champion, HAMILCAR!
Usually listening to these videos in the background- first time I noticed that one of your cats has a little bow tie and I’m smitten.
Have you featured Yndrasta? She's like an awesome momster hunter. I've only read her book though i wonder if she has any other books. Neve Blacktalon is like a.. glorified assassin lol. Please feature more heroes and on what book we can read them! Thank you!
Can you make a video of the ranks of a stormcast
From celestant prime with Ghar maraz
To lord celestant
To knight arcanum
To knight. ....
and so on
down to libartors and vindictors
Anvils of the Heldenhammer
Are you going to do the same for the Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords?
when their respective books release, yes :)
Awesome.
Does Sigmar still recruit new Stormcasts? That would lead to a potential conflict of newbs vs the worn out veterans.... Hmmm.
Astral Templars!
Hammers. Of. Sigmar.
Astral Templars
SIGMARINES!! 🙌🏾
As someone who listened to the skaventide book on audible all I can say is hope us a lie
👍
Bro lose the annoying intro. Just get into the meat of the video already
