Stäuber - The MOST BEAUTIFUL unknown WATERFALL of Switzerland, Schächental canton Uri [Travel Guide]

  • I am presenting to you one of the most raw and untouched landscapes of Switzerland: This is the magical Schächental! This is the PERFECT IDYL: A cute village of wooden houses with the massive Stäuber waterfall (also known as Staubifall) in the backbround. The Schächental is very pristine and can be considered as one of the greenest valleys of Switzerland. It is located right in the heart of Switzerland in the canton of Uri. In order to visit the impressive Stäuber waterfall, you have to head to the upper part of the Schächen Valley. Take a bus from Altdorf that takes you to Unterschächen. Do not get out at the village; instead head further towards the Klausenpass. At the first 180° curve on the passroad (lower part) - station name is "Hältikehr", get out of the bus and hike for about 30 minutes. The hike is very scenic and easy. There is the Schächen river that feels so calming and then all the greens! After 30 minutes, you finally will reach what I call the most beautiful unknown waterfall of Switzerland. Immerse yourself into postcard-like Switzerland and get to meet this hidden gem, the Schächental! The Stäuber waterfall (Staubifall) is considered being one of the new Swiss wonders of Instagram. It's that waterfall that is allover the platform. Interestingly, it is still less visited; this even during Summer, when it's considered peak season. Thus, it's safe to say that the Stäuber / Staubifall is the most beautiful unknown waterfall of Switzerland. This waterfall lays on one of Switzerland's most beautiful passroads and can be well combined with the Berglistüber and Diesbachfall in the canton of Glarus. In general, this region, especially the canton of Uri is less-visited but full of natural wonders. Thus make your way to central Switzerland, to Uri!

      Hi Rascal. Yup, Lauterbrunnen is dreamy! I just went there yesterday and today. Was such an awesome trip. The Schächental is what I call the Lauterbrunnen 2.0, especially the side valley called Brunnital :)

      @DjemoGraphic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiii. Thank you very much for contacting me and leaving such a nice feedback! You should arrive from "Altdorf UR" and take a bus up to Unterschächen. Then get out at the station: Unterschächen, Hältikehr. That's also the parking where you need to go out if you are coming by car - You then need to hike around 30-45 minutes. It's not really steep and you won't need good shoes. Please keep in mind that driving up to the waterfall is strictly forbidden.
      For the schedule please check at www.sbb.ch - Have a great trip!

      Hi Sheena. Thank you so much for your comment. Don't worry; you can visit the waterfall by walk. It's all stable ground. You don't need to take any cable car. So just leave the trip up to Oberalp out; alternatively, you can hike though.

      Hi Sasha. Do you intend to go for 1 day excursion? And which month? You would have to drive back to Luzern. As I showed in the video, there is this parking lot at the first curve after passing Unterschächen to go up to the Klausenpass. Its free to park there; at least it was 2 years ago.

      @@sashas7465 hi Sasha. I think its not a good time to visit this waterfall in November. Its going to look blunt and even hiking up there might not be possible depening on the weather. In addition, the waterfall may have less power, being less noticeable. Also its a 4h journey roughly. 1.5-2 hours for one way. I suggest to bettet stay in the bernese Oberland to save your precious time that wud get lost on transportation. Mid November we have markets in various cities. Also you may go up to summits and enjoy cloud inversion.

You can just talk to the bus driver and tell him/her that you want to go to this waterfall. They will tell you where to go out. From that curve, you will have to hike 40 minutes. Easy trail!
