In season 1 there were like 5% of nowadays playerbase if not less. It was way easier to be in the top, competitive was just born. If you see a game from the first lol world, you can tell they are playing randomly, only mechanically and a bit of coordinated teamfights. There was no wave management at all, rotations and swaps for objectives were not a thing.

This departure video was a lot better than the ones I've seen. Being a TSM fan, they just do a short message goodbye then some montage of plays I've seen a hundred times. It was good seeing Rekkles talk personally about each of the years gone by and his experiences, etc. Really good video.

Chased glory and joined our nemesis, to get pointed out, blamed, and shoved out the back door. No matter, you still are one of my favourite players and I hope you get to come back to the LEC and lift that Worlds trophy.

You know it might have something to do with how long he was in the team for and what he was for the team. Rekkles was in FNC for a very long time and was the icon of the organisations LoL team. Meanwhile he was on G2 for a year and was never an icon of the team, being surrounded by players that had had a lot of success on that team. You would expect different farewell videos because he was a different thing to each org

I started playing league when he just joined fnatic. After I understood how the games works, I liked the way fnatic played so much and they all seemed so charismatic to me
@@bekisroilov2278 Yup i also grew up playing league and when i started watching EU LCS he was barely of age to play in LCS, i remember watching Puszu play Varus for FNC before Rekkles could join, that iteration of the team with Rekkles was always so charismatic, and it's funny cause G2 is exactly what FNC used to be, a team that always gave you the impression that they always had fun, after the Huni/RO era they never had another team that genuinely seemed like they were having a lot of fun playing together and it's kinda sad.

The only one I can think of would be Bang and while he had higher peaks and more prestigious achievements thanks to winning worlds he was not relevant for as long as Rekkles and now look where he is.
Issue was that rekkles was the symbol. It’s not how he plays and it’s probably what was holding the team back. They’re all fantastic players, but players like bwipo and selfmade can’t shine if they’re supporting Rekkles. Rekkles actually said exactly that, the change was for the best.
He is geniune wholesome guy while being at the top for many years and have amazing drive for success.I don't know what not to love lol. It's insane how he manages to get 20k viewers with submod only chat everytime he streams and his community as wholesome as he is.

Hyli needs an ultra aggressive ADC that follows his plays, and Rekkles needs an omnipresent support that slowly prepares plays and peels him like a madman. I still remember when I first started playing league, one of the most impressive plays I saw was Rekkles kiting like crazy on Tristana. I remember I thought it was incredibly cool, and decided I wanted to main Tristana back then over 3 almost 4 years ago. I have followed Fnatic and watched all of their games since then, Rekkles has been my favorite player all of this time. For someone who was there when Rekkles first started making a name for himself, it will be so weird to watch him not wear black and gold. It's like Messi leaving Barcelona. You can't believe it until you see it. Martin is already a legend, and he still wants more. If that's not the mindset of a true champion, I don't know what is. My hopes are skyhigh for Worlds 2021.
I’m so excited to see what he can do with these other 4 players. This is by far the biggest collection of individual talent a Western team has ever put together, and G2 is such a proven powerhouse, Rekkles has never had a better team.

Wunder has been styling since Splyce, Jankos is the GOAT Western jungler, Caps is one of the best mids in the world (and the best in EU by a margin), Rekkles has been EU's most stalwart ADC for nearly a decade and playing out of his mind, and Mikyx has been the best supp in EU for years with 2 autofilled ADCs
@@Whales1992 They were an incredible team in 2015 but the competition in EULCS at that time was nowhere near the same level as it has been for the past couple of years in the LEC, and the LPL teams weren't at the same level they have been in the last 3 years, so the global competition has risen as well since then. G2 and Fnatic have forced each other to be better teams - Fnatic didn't really have much competition in 2015 summer split. It felt great to win every game, but in hindsight without a team to challenge them and expose their flaws before going into worlds they were never going to win. That's why in the last 3 years Fnatic and G2 have had so much success at worlds. This new G2 is far beyond what 2015 Fnatic was - in fact the 2018 Fnatic was far better than 2015, G2 2019- 2020 was better than 2018 Fnatic, and now with Rekkles on that squad it's easily the strongest team (on paper) to ever come out of EU.
I still remember when he went to elements and all of us who were diehard fans in his stream cheering him on for it, this time he's moving over to a real super team I wish him success man.

Now think about hyli and selfmade joining G2 too that would be the world champion for sure

The one player who was always there for all this is Rekkles, hurts my heart as much as it hurts my heart seeing bjergsen retiring since i'm also a TSM fan. BUT if there is one player who has earned the right to make such a big change it's rekkles. He just deserves the best if he thinks he can't beat the best with fnatic. Or how weak. G2 will most likely have no competition now in LEC. Well, that is a two edged sword. Like in NA, when in every season there is just one team that is so much above the others, and that team won't get better or stronger, in time it will just drop to the level of the other 9 teams. If Fnatic signs Nisqy and Upset, well, I don't think they will make it to playoffs, let alone keep G2 on their toes and make them play at their best.

@@bekisroilov2278 Yup i also grew up playing league and when i started watching EU LCS he was barely of age to play in LCS, i remember watching Puszu play Varus for FNC before Rekkles could join, that iteration of the team with Rekkles was always so charismatic, and it's funny cause G2 is exactly what FNC used to be, a team that always gave you the impression that they always had fun, after the Huni/RO era they never had another team that genuinely seemed like they were having a lot of fun playing together and it's kinda sad.

Issue was that rekkles was the symbol. It’s not how he plays and it’s probably what was holding the team back. They’re all fantastic players, but players like bwipo and selfmade can’t shine if they’re supporting Rekkles. Rekkles actually said exactly that, the change was for the best.

Hyli needs an ultra aggressive ADC that follows his plays, and Rekkles needs an omnipresent support that slowly prepares plays and peels him like a madman. Both adjusted to each other at worlds, and we know how that turned out for TES botlane
Rekkles deserves the best of the best and if he thinks that he can't have the best in Fnatic it's fine. Me as a Fnatic fan I want the best for him because he already give us a lot of things. I can't even start to comprehend what he went through with this decision. But to be offered so much money and even shares in the organization and still go for what you've always wanted (Worlds title). That, I can respect!
It won't be the same without him on FNC, but maybe also FNC management may want to think about it for a bit. There may be something that they are doing wrong because, apparently, for the best players it's not all about the money. Carlos does something better.

I still remember when I first started playing league, one of the most impressive plays I saw was Rekkles kiting like crazy on Tristana. I remember I thought it was incredibly cool, and decided I wanted to main Tristana back then over 3 almost 4 years ago. I have followed Fnatic and watched all of their games since then, Rekkles has been my favorite player all of this time. It is sad to see my favorite player leave the org I like the most but I hope we can see him carry somewhere else as hard as he did in Fnatic.

Wunder has been styling since Splyce, Jankos is the GOAT Western jungler, Caps is one of the best mids in the world (and the best in EU by a margin), Rekkles has been EU's most stalwart ADC for nearly a decade and playing out of his mind, and Mikyx has been the best supp in EU for years with 2 autofilled ADCs
@@Whales1992 They were an incredible team in 2015 but the competition in EULCS at that time was nowhere near the same level as it has been for the past couple of years in the LEC, and the LPL teams weren't at the same level they have been in the last 3 years, so the global competition has risen as well since then. G2 and Fnatic have forced each other to be better teams - Fnatic didn't really have much competition in 2015 summer split. It felt great to win every game, but in hindsight without a team to challenge them and expose their flaws before going into worlds they were never going to win. That's why in the last 3 years Fnatic and G2 have had so much success at worlds. This new G2 is far beyond what 2015 Fnatic was - in fact the 2018 Fnatic was far better than 2015, G2 2019- 2020 was better than 2018 Fnatic, and now with Rekkles on that squad it's easily the strongest team (on paper) to ever come out of EU.
I still remember when he went to elements and all of us who were diehard fans in his stream cheering him on for it, this time he's moving over to a real super team I wish him success man.
Rekkles is more than a player, he puts so much emotions into everything... you can see it by the way he treats people around him and how he loves the people he plays with. He's more than a player, he's a person.

The one player who was always there for all this is Rekkles, hurts my heart as much as it hurts my heart seeing bjergsen retiring since i'm also a TSM fan. BUT if there is one player who has earned the right to make such a big change it's rekkles. He just deserves the best if he thinks he can't beat the best with fnatic. Or how weak. G2 will most likely have no competition now in LEC. Well, that is a two edged sword. Like in NA, when in every season there is just one team that is so much above the others, and that team won't get better or stronger, in time it will just drop to the level of the other 9 teams. If Fnatic signs Nisqy and Upset, well, I don't think they will make it to playoffs, let alone keep G2 on their toes and make them play at their best.
