Scott kept saying “law of the land” and mentioned established case law. Scott, how did established case law affect Roe v. Wade? Also, Scott, study the history of writing the Constitution and read what it actually states NOT what you wish it stated. Roland is right. Scott’s argument was founded on what he and others think the Constitution states not what people in power have implemented based on their racist, sexist interpretations. If the Constitution was written as Scott said, then all POC and women would have been voting from the time it was ratified.

The American people who haven't been informed regarding how the Republicans have been doing such a thing with the help of the Supreme Court (mostly conservatives) who voted to strip "Chapter 5" from "The Voting Rights Act of 1965." It gives Republicans the power for gerrymandering, voter suppression, & the conservative who occupies the White House to pick conservative judges who have the authority to purge votes in certain states during an election cycle in the country starting back in 2013. 🗳 ✍️

The section itself was actually meant to be a temporary measure

And in 2013 the supreme Court removed sections 4B not section 5
And by removing that section they made it where the government cannot be using it discriminatory

You might want to think about that for a second. It is obvious why Democrats would want to have as many illegals voting as possible. They shipped in some 8 million of them in for this very purpose. However consider exactly who this fresh flock of resource consuming illegals will be competing with and displacing. That look like a good reason by itself to make it a good thing for you. The Democrats already have you as a block they never have to give more than lip service too. You have a dropping population, do you think that you will be their favorite people to bribe with government funds should they establish their new pets. I can see both sides of this debate, and I understand Scott's point of view. The IDEA of voting is just that, an idea, never to have any real legal legs, which is why the Right to Votes Act must be RENEWED every 25 years. My question is WHY is the Right the Vote Act not permanent? WHY does this act have to be renewed every 25 years?.... because as Roland says, white Republicans (and Evangelicals) NEVER wanted Blacks to have the right to vote in the first place, and by not making it a permanent law they provide themselves an opening at some future date to redefine or eliminate the Act for people who are not white. In either case, Black people need to understand the POWER they have in their vote and MUST get out and exercise this right at EVERY election if we wish to make change in laws that will lift our standard of living.

In order to get the bill pass you need the House as well as the Senate. The President only signs the bill. Vote blue down the ballot.

I am a Republican in the state of Washington. We have not had in person voting for thirty years. And we have been one shade for almost that long. We’ve had several elections that went back and forth and always landed on Dems. I would like in person voting , with picture ID, signature verification, paper ballots and proof of citizenship. Voter rolls need to be cleaned up every 1-2 years. This is the only way any of us can feel confident at all in our elections. And NO-voter ID is not voter suppression. Minority people are not stupid and it’s likely most already have a photo Id since you need one for most things these days (lease agreements, bank accounts etc).

They don't want to accept a school ID, your job ID, the ID you use to get into your apartment building etc. They want a specific government ID, but then they close the places to obtain that ID or move it far away. Also there are many elderly people that cannot produce the paperwork to obtain these government ID'S. I know, because my 85 year old black mother is one of them. We have to stop the notion that they want you to be able to use any ID. I wish the people in the media would speak about the specifics of the situation.
