We need a Joey Diaz style series with this guy. His story definitely gives a humbled perspective. The Honeydew is my favorite pod of all time, and this was easily in the top 5 of all time. Maybe top 7, just because Joey had so many and he's a legend 😂

Man! I’ve always been a fan of Jason Ellis. He was always a legend in my eyes. As a skateboarder for the last 20 years, I grew up watching Jason’s videos and always enjoyed the guy. But man. What a heartbreaking story he has. This guy has been through the shit. It’s amazing that he can talk about these experiences so lightly and not let them really fuck his world up. I’m here because of this weeks episode - I’m a little new to the dew y’all - but holy mother of fuck, Jason Ellis is one of the most entertaining people I’ve ever witnessed!
There are many quotes to enjoy from this podcast but when Jason says....."I do yoga and my pants were on the whole time".....it fucking killed me. Legend.
Man this was a wild ride. I've never really been an Ellis fan, found him to be far too showy, on his show, and I didn't care to hear about him bragging up his drug use, and seemingly reckless lifestyle. I'm sure true fans, who've been with him, all along, have heard all of the pieces, to his story, and so this episode wasn't much of a surprise to them, but I sure am glad to have tuned in. It provided a world of insight, into the fragmented out of context clips I would catch, of his show. Dude has clearly reconciled a lot of trauma, and dysfunction, over his life. I truly appreciate the healthy attitude he has towards it all now, and the grace of which he extends to the adults in his life, who weren't equipped to be better for him, at the time. The growth demonstrated here, is astronomical, even from the last clip I'd caught 2yrs ago, on Faction Talk. Props to you Jason Ellis. Great episode Sickle-Cell!

It's important that Jason talk about his life experiences, it's dark but the truth needs to come out. So that he's not carrying it by himself. And people can recognize the signs of abuse. Good people need to be strong and smart, don't look away. We can do a lot to protect our children.
