Hi Sharyn, great videos, have you done a video on your diesel heater ?, just wondering as we have just picked up our Iridium 13, now to find a good location to fit the heater. cheers Rob

Hi Rob, the short answer is no. Had the van for nearly a year and only really used the heater in the last two weeks. Have found it really good and easy to use. The van must be insulated well because after using the heater for a short time inside stays warm for a long time. I'm not a fan of the location of the heater control in our van (it's next to the awning button near the step) and I think we will eventually move it or look for a remote control. Saying that, we only just started talking about it last week and I haven't researched alternatives yet. Basically, I don't like getting in and out of bed to turn the heater on and off. Pre-setting to turn on in the mornings is on my list to figure out - the instruction for our heater manual is not the easiest thing to read. When we make a change I will put it in a video as I enjoy recording our learning journey. Heading north on Thursday so hopefully it will be warmer than Canberra and I won't need to use it!
See you on the other side, Sharyn

Hi Sharyn and John can you share how much fuel you use on your mundi mundi trip ? Love your vodeos and cant wait every week to see what you post next.

Hi Marisa, we tow with a Prado and travelled approx 2900km. On average we used between 13.5 and 16 l/km depending on the road. Normally while not towing the car uses about 8.5l/km on the highway. We didn't keep the total amount that we used as the fuel prices were very high and we didn't want to know how much we spent. Hi Sharyn, great video doc of your trip. Can I ask a question regarding entering and exiting the venue. If you arrive on the early day pass are you more likely to get locked in? I’m wondering if you arrived later does that mean you are positioned on the outer rim making it easier to leave in the morning?

Hi Karen, I'm not sure it makes any difference to exiting, it's just luck. We think, and people might disagree, that they let the same amount of people leave each ring each time. So the innner (closer to the stage, early pass people) have less sites in their inner rings and they get through faster. On the day we initially tried to leave, some people were driving cross country to get to the inner rings because there were less people lined up in those lanes. At the end of the day, we let a van in front of us not knowing that he had eight friends to let in. Obviously, this stopped us moving for a long time. If you complain you are a 'Karen" but there is nothing you can do about it. Best thing we did was stay the extra night, it was beautiful. If you need to leave early I'd think about an early day pass, sit the van and car in the day park and leave after the final performance and just go up to Silverton. That's the only guarantee of not being held up. Sorry for not responding sooner, I've been off grid.

Martin and I have also bought a signeture iridium 15 S and are wondering how much you love your iridium and are you really happy with it ?

Welcome to the Signature family. We have an Iridium 13s and I love it. John is still working full time and I had to retire because of health issues so the 13 is prefect for me to feel comfortable about towing and going off on adventures by myself. After the Bash, we appreciate the set up even more. So many larger vans had the same water storage, same toilet cassette and they mostly preferred to cook outside anyway. So really we have less stress when backing in and towing, and all the comforts. Absolutely love it.
