  • In this Grasshopper tutorial we will model the sunshades in another Type from simple way and different materials but a concept it's same . just you can do that via rhino and grasshopper by triangle grid and divide cell to Three parts , then creat point attractors like sun path and make influence with open and close these sunshades.
    This is a kinetic facade which open against solar rays / time

      Good question.. if you use a rectangle grid you will have 4 parts each cell but you have to improve script 😶

      Hello 👋 it's not necessary to use any additional plugin so you can create it in rhino or grasshopper the make a point alone it as a point attractor that's it..

      kangaroo good in this case and maybe just from network surface to create something like balloon distention

      Thanks for your comment and I think if you should to divide an octagon into triangles then you will have 8 items for each octagonal cell finally rotating those around edge axis ! If I understand well ! Tell me ok ?

      It isn’t necessary to use that adding component you can create a native arc then use evaluate curve to create point attractor then use it as a sun ☀️ that is it >>>

      This component has point3d function to create it onto surface and easy to change coordinates manually and with surface needs UV I think it’s easy to use

    Hi Great Tutorial! I am new to grasshopper and Rhino, for some reason every time I do it the triangle seem to rotate from one point and not pivot back on themselves if that makes sense. Wondering if anyone knows how to fix this?

      I see, but there is a problem with heliotrope. It seems like it only work for rhino 4&5 and I’m using rhino 6.
