Grasshopper 022 - Sunshades ( Parametric Kinetic Facade )

- In this Grasshopper tutorial we will model the sunshades in another Type from simple way and different materials but a concept it's same . just you can do that via rhino and grasshopper by triangle grid and divide cell to Three parts , then creat point attractors like sun path and make influence with open and close these sunshades.
This is a kinetic facade which open against solar rays / time

Good question.. if you use a rectangle grid you will have 4 parts each cell but you have to improve script 😶

Some of ur steps r literally a way to extend the video and u literally work soo fast that we agree ur soo talented but teaching is always a slow process just try to figure things out n make ur work useful at the most ..

Hello 👋 it's not necessary to use any additional plugin so you can create it in rhino or grasshopper the make a point alone it as a point attractor that's it..
Is there a way to make each face of the cell curves like the valves of the heart organ? Maybe using Kangaroo?
kangaroo good in this case and maybe just from network surface to create something like balloon distention

Thanks for your comment and I think if you should to divide an octagon into triangles then you will have 8 items for each octagonal cell finally rotating those around edge axis ! If I understand well ! Tell me ok ?
solar arc is missing in my grasshopper what should i do ?
It isn’t necessary to use that adding component you can create a native arc then use evaluate curve to create point attractor then use it as a sun ☀️ that is it >>>
this is way to fast, if its for begginers kindly mind your speed

This component has point3d function to create it onto surface and easy to change coordinates manually and with surface needs UV I think it’s easy to use
hey , I'm writing a dissertation on daylight analysis on a kinetic façade and other stuff. i was using your façade script but I didn't know how to automate it with ladybug and honeybee. do you have any references or any scripts on it?

In this script I used diva as it is but you can do it by another way like ladybug and honeybee

Thanks for your comment and I used points attractor its effect are radially. But you can use curve attractor as you want to control it as right-left and top-bottom
Hey hi, great tutorial, loved it. How can we make the panels perforated with circular openings with remapped radius, so that the circles vary in sizes, the remapping part i know, but how can i have circles on the panels oriented along the plane of panel.

Hi Great Tutorial! I am new to grasshopper and Rhino, for some reason every time I do it the triangle seem to rotate from one point and not pivot back on themselves if that makes sense. Wondering if anyone knows how to fix this?

I see, but there is a problem with heliotrope. It seems like it only work for rhino 4&5 and I’m using rhino 6.
I use Rhino 6 too
