    Dr Evans congratz is Very good class for begginers. Just a point as spanish is my native language i would recommend that when you are writting/saying the date you can omit "el" before the number you can just say "Hoy es 3 de Marzo de 2018" :) but when you are saying your birthday or an specific date then you add "el" "mi cumpleaños es el 8 de Febrero"

      I disagree, I am not only a native speaker but also a teacher and I would never just say "hoy es 18 de noviembre", "el" is a permanent fixture along with "de" before the month.

    Yep.. some Filipino and Spanish words are similar. LoL... we read "Sabado" as with an accent in the middle a, not the first a though. A lot of our words came from Spain but with changes in spelling like "Kutsara" -- this is (Cuchara) in Spanish. "Kama" -- this is (Cama) in Spanish.

      Japanese days are from the five-elements of Chinese philosophy, no? Days are written in hanja in Korea and Kanji in Japan because they originated in China. Korea also had Portuguese missionaries, but they did not influence our language so much.

      @@carltonbrice6065 Yes they are. But I think you can also say they are planets. Also, ironically, in Chinese we don't use those elements or planets for weekdays. We simply say weekday 1, weekday 2, weekday 3......

    The statement about Bolivia being cold in summer is from a northern hemisphere perspective as it is actually Southern Hemisphere winter and therefore naturally cold.

      Yes, you have to say “El” for days and numbers
      Example: El viernes (on friday)
      El 3 de julio (July 3)

    Question, why aren't the first letter of the days not capitalized like it is in English? Ex. lunes vs Lunes. Does this rule apply to months? Proper nouns?

      Are you sure? I always hear Filipinos use English when they use numbers, days, and months. I had assumed there was no Tagalog for numbers, days, and months. For example, when they talk about money, they speak English. English became lingua franca rather than Spanish as in Latin America.

      @@carltonbrice6065 We actually do speak Spanish. Well, not literally Spanish. There is a certain part of history in the Philippines that they made English as a official rather than Spanish. I remember my Pre-school to Grade school teachers who teaches filipino teaches us Spanish words for our everyday life. Months and days are still in Spanish, but the Spanish numbers are used for counting money.

      @@carltonbrice6065 thats because. Philippines was colonized by spanish then americans. Thats why there is a mix of it. But in our filipino subjects. This are the words used as the days of the week. And in our english subjects. Then thats the common words you hear in the philippines comes in.

    Everything is the same in my language - Filipino, only differs in spelling as in
    Miercoles we spell it Myerkules, Jueves we spell it Huwebes, Viernes we spell it Byernes and Domingo is Linggo.
    For the months,
    Febrero, here is Pebrero
    Marzo - Marso
    Junio - Hunyo
    Julio - Hulyo
    Septiembre - Setyembre
    Octubre- Oktubre
    Noviembre -Nobyembre
    Diciembre - Desyembre

    You spell names of days/months etc sometimes starting with capital and sometimes with small letter - it is very confusing and I am not sure if there are any rules here?
