Does The Tomb ACTUALLY Suck In Black Ops 6?

- Today, because Tdawgsmitty “TyroniousCanineSmithinson” (famous internet content creator),for the hit video game, Call of Duty developed by Activison, had big business plans he was unable to attend this podcast. Instead, listen to a man approaching his late twenties @Ch0pper and a new up and coming @Stanley557 talk endlessly about minor details and mechanics in a video game sub mode from 2009. The Tomb, or (La Tombay) is the newest installment In Black Ops 6 Zombies that has made a lot of X goblins (the platform formerly known as Twitter) angry because it doesnt have enough Call of Duty Zombie in it. However, Stanley557 makes the case that it does indeed have enough Call of Duty Zombie in it, and ties in the interesting parts of the Chaos Storyline from Black Ops 4 in. In that game, Makoto the main protagonist, summons Orpheus and goes into the Mystery Machine where he faces off against Michael Jordan from Space Jam. Tdagwgsmitty plays basketball just like him too, so maybe thats actually were his big business meeting is taking place. Either way, watch these 2 grown men who absolutely love Cod Zombie say many words about how they love Cod Zombie

Stanley!! What a cool surprise
I definitely fall more toward Ch0pper’s side with gameplay being way more important to me than story, but it was interesting and eye-opening to hear the some thoughts from the other side of the aisle, really enjoyed the more narrative-focused chat
Love that Stanley is getting more love from the zombies community, he's a great guy
Stanley was great on this episode! I’d love to see more zombies only pods in the future!

I genuinely think to fix this mystery box issue, they just need to remove loadouts.
The only reason people like loadouts at all is just so Camo grinding specific weapons is easier, but Treyarch could always make separate Survival-esque modes that have loadouts and are meant for Camo grinding. Or perhaps Directed Mode could be the only place where loadouts are. Or maybe have players do a Side Quest to unlock their loadout.
In all prior games, I hit the Box quite a lot. It was only Cold War-onward where I basically stopped unless I was just messing around for fun.
It’s much more than just load outs. They also need to take away weapon rarity. Why hit the box for potentially a green or blue gun when I can just go buy the gun I want off the wall that’s already purple.
Not to mention just making all weapons viable in the first place. There are currently like 3 guns worth using. Every other gun just straight up doesn’t do damage. Another reason why hitting the box is pointless
Or make the camo process easier. The reason most people want loadouts is because it takes a while to fully level and get all the camos for a gun. If you could do an entire gun in 1 match it wouldn’t be much of a problem. You get it out of the box once and done.
I like the idea of having a 'favorite weapon' system, where similar to zombie build selection in your loadout screen, you can favorite a weapon. That favorite weapon would have a much higher chance to get drawn from the mystery box as oppose to other weapons.
Edit: The box is a core foundation of the mode. We can have the best of both worlds here. There is still that dopamine release when you get that 'favorite' weapon, almost like drawing the commando or hk21 in blops 1.
I feel like the easiest solution here is just have a load out that spawns on like round 10 or something similar to wunderfizz. Then you can walk up to and buy your load out weapon. This would make so hitting the box to survive early rounds matters again at the very least
Chopper finally found someone with the same camera quality
Haha! That’s so good!
Stanley is such a chill guy I still don’t understand the hate he got when he did milos pod smh. Have em back more often chopper!! This was fire 🔥
It may be a hot take, but I really like The Tomb! It’s my first ever round 200 map and I LOVEEEE the aesthetic! Everything feels so old and ancient! ❤️
Me too, it's my 1st round 100 in BO6. I really wasn't liking or enjoying the map at first but the more I played it the more and more AND more it grew on me. I lowkey love this map now
love to see positivity !!
thanks to the hand cannon glitch yeah, you absolute bot
Who are you?
This was a great ep, loved the extended zombies discussion!
Posting at midnight is daring asf lol I’m glad I caught this. A very well much needed zombies in depth talk 🔥 (PS. Make the pod episodes longer)
I personally like the setup for the Tomb. More so than Liberty. My only problem with the map is the grabby enemies (Amalgams, Mimics but more so Amalgams)
Amalgams never bothered me until there was more than 1 on the map in Terminus. They're a joke in Citadelle.
The Mimics aren't fun because they eat my lethal and tactical equipment while I try to do challenges.
@Ch0pper I'm glad I can say I started on WAW Zombies and still play to this day with BO6. Only game I ''skipped'' but gave a chance years later is BO4.
STANLEY, put a little red glowy led thingy somwhere around the juggernog machine to make it shine red!
Well I don't think it's an awful map, I do think that it'll age worse overtime. It doesn't really do anything amazing or terrible (other then the ending cutscene). It's just a filler map, one of the maps of all time
Fair stance on the map. I wish this was the community’s overall opinion. But you know everyone’s gotta exaggerate on the internet. Idk why everyone’s acting like this is one of the worst maps ever made.
@@kuribosI think you said it in your comment...it's the Internet! 😅 I'd say half the time they've played one game and had their mind made up already! 🙄
I agree, a map that doesn’t add or do anything new basically doesn’t have an identity of its own so it will just become as you said “one of the maps of all time”
Meee too I love this map
I think the only thing this map does well is the aesthetics. It’s the coolest looking map since like ancient evil imo
Is it just me or Ch0pper's camera looks a little better lol, could use a little more light tho.
Tdawg prolly said “they are going to talk about Zombies the entire time, im out” 😂
Bring on XpertFusion.
Something to think about as far as the map release go is to consider this. The dlc maps are coming in pairs. Citadel and tomb are both in avalon and deel with the more magical and arcane elements of chaos. The next 2 maps mansion and presumably janus towers are both in liberty falls and will be more similar to lab facilities that focus on the sci-fi aspect of zombies if we do recive 2 more maps it would make sense for them to be associated with the dark aether the new third element in the story. Also i have the theory that each pair will be 1 big 1 small. But i wont be able to tell till we have mansion and towers.
40:05 oooo finally a chance to mention this theory, my thinking for why they have MWZ be set after bo6, and vanguard before CW is because for classic zombies you were always jumping through time periods all over the place so for the idea of the new story was to have “crews” set in their respective time periods but for the player to experience them out of order so they can hide bits of information or show bits of information that are then addressed in different one of the other 3 time periods kinda making a more contained version of the time jumping we enjoyed in the past.
43:41 totally agreed it feels like this story will play out regardless of if we like it or not and I miss the interactive media of it
We need more Stanley! He's great.
Voyage of Despair W from Stan!
To their point they make about the mystery box right at the end, since cold war introduced the weapon upgrade system, I have always started with the 1911. Or in this games case the gs45. By doing this, I have made the mystery box/wall weapons useful again as I'm always buying them. I don't mind doing this, but I don't think I should have to hinder myself in order to have a greater sense of IG progression. (That being said I do hope we get the 1911s in bo6 so I can use them again). By doing this, I'm able to engage with the new systems while also getting more powerful slowly over time.
47:59 bo3 is not formulaic bro, you totally skipped over the setup process. All bo3 maps have different mechanics and all play different not even close to the level of formulaic as modern zombies. Shadows has beast mode, DE has zero-gravity, ZNS has plant system, GK has dragons, etc and the maps have unique specialist weapons to build and all maps have very different in depth PAP quests and power quests which is part of the gameplay loop. Modern zombies there are barely even power or PAP quests and there are 0 map specific mechanics. The setup process in bo3 maps are all very different, whereas the setup process in modern zombies is a joke it’s open map for PAP with basically no quest, not even a power quest, upgrade your gun you spawn with until it’s maxed using the same arsenal machine on every map, and buy every perk that’s it every map is the same. That’s what people mean by they play the same.
good old zombie conversation. uff.
The Mystery Box should have multiple non-infinite damage WW inside it. Imagine having the chance to get the Scavenger, Winter's Howl, or Rai-K through the box. They all feel special and give each playthrough more verity. Instead of only having the Ray Gun and map specific WW, you can get a verity of weapons for whatever play style you want.
A crossover you love to see! Great to see Stanley making it out there! And yo, I know the guy behind that theory :P
easiest fix for the mastery box is it guarantee you to get a higher rarity weapon than what you are holding, also making wonder weapons count as highest rarity
Hell yeah. Nice to see this guy again
The Goat557, what a beautiful colab
Liberty Falls should’ve been the big quest map, should’ve had a celebrity cast had the mansion with the under ground etc, Terminus should’ve been the smaller one especially since you don’t ever need to go outside the main island so
Not really, Liberty Falls is fine as it is, just a nice simple casual map
@ yeah but I’m saying it because of the story like they were talking about Liberty Falls cutscene doesn’t really fit with LF and even the Easter egg story doesn’t make sense
@@Fckituppp it'll probably make sense when we get to The Mansion, i mean before BO3's story didn't really make sense, until we got more exposition later on in the DLC's.
@ that’s true but they’ve been trying to not make the storyline not too complex since Cold War so it feels bit weird
@@Fckituppp probably because BO3/BO4's story was just all over the place.
The waves are TOO FAST PACED for this map to actually sit and enjoy the easter eggs and the map artwork.
Having the og point system would fix the box. There's zero reason to hit it since I can spawn in with a shotgun which is the most effective way to get kills. If we spawned in with a pistol and got points per hit then I would naturally want to hit the box to get an smg early game. Also, removing the ammo boxes would have the box another use, if I run out of ammo my option would be to buy a gun off the wall or hit the box. They'd have to remove the rarity system, ammo boxes, change the point system back to the way it was and simplify the load outs and the box would be useful again. And in my opinion the game would be more re-playable, but they'll never do that
og points system just makes the game too easy fr
27:37 for me its a mix of the story feeling like…. like if the movie the expendables had zombies in it and the fact that there isn’t any surprises even krafts baby reveal felt like an obvious connection to make post classic zombies Edward having this fatherly connection with maxis, honestly if sam didn’t have to be an orphan in this timeline I think it would have been maxis
18:10 idk why they only count ee completions, there’s tons of people who attempt them and die in boss fight or something. I feel like if they reach the boss fight that should be enough for Treyarch to say they’ve engaged with every step of the ee.
The Man, The Myth, The Stanley557.
Mystery box weapons should be packed at higher rounds. After round 10 pack 1, round 20 pack 2, and round 30 pack 3 or something like that
My GOAT what a surprise!!
IM ONLY HERE FOR STANLEYYYYYYYYYY LESGOOOO
48:30 bro had to load up Vanguard to appreciate bo6 💀
Good video, problem with the tomb is it feels so hollow and soulless. No intro cutscene and such a bad post EE cutscene is so obviously their VA and AI problem. Activision’s AI obsession is holding this game back so much. It was also so obviously rushed to get people back to the game after they’ve been bleeding players. It needed another month of TLC tender love and care.
Arent the vas still on strike though
@ Correct but that’s a pickle Activision got themselves in with this AI bs.
Make The Mystery Box great again. Omw should petition Treyarch to just straight up remove the Green Rarity from the box. Make it Blue and Above.
To me, the gameplay matters, but if there's a solid formula, then it's the maps and how they flow. Flow is essential to map design and most bo6 maps have great flow (terminus get kinda fucked by the water and separate islands
CHOPPA.
STANLEY.
i saw something on reddit saying this map is like a custom map which i fully agree with but even tho i agree with it im still having fun. its basically a really good custom map which i guess is a bad thing because its literally Treyarch making the map.
The ammo crates should go away and there should be a “perk” max ammo machine on every map. And because you buy ammo there (and it should be a max ammo power up you buy to make it more Zombies) and it should be the machine where you buy ammo mods… since its an ammo machine…
T looks different today 😂
Voyage of Despair W from Stanley!!! ❤
47:47 quantity over quality does nothing for replayability. Only allows the game to stay more relevant during its life cycle. After that, people play quality which is def not bo6. Bo6 will just end up right next to Cold War. People say “the time between ZNS and Gorod was long and DE didn’t come out until end of January”… yes, but it was well worth the wait bc they were cooking up the highest quality maps ever which the community replayed and still do over and over. Most people would have no problem waiting longer for a better map. Should always be quality over quantity.
Definitely clicked on this cause I thought dude was Zach Bryan 😂
1:06:36 I think its as simple as putting something bad in there. like they would never have a bad gun in there but what if you rolled the box and got a plunger that replaced your gun (melee slot ignored) or like a water pistol or something and it forced you to take it
Tdawg died too young. RIP 😔
other than voyage i think he's got a solid top 5 fr
I really wish the next black ops game wouldn’t be its own game but a year 2 for bo6…. I’ve spent so much time getting augments and camos… I’d really prefer more zombies maps on bo6 rather than learning a whole new system
Why is this podcast not on Spotify?
Compared to what we should be getting with 4 years of dev, the tomb is trash. Is it the worst map ever? No… but idk how anyone could appreciate a dlc 2 having 7 rooms, a lazy dark aether 2D skybox, 5 reused enemies, crazy boss spam, a reused downgraded ww, no PAP or power quest, reused music, a 4 step ee, unoriginal quest steps, a reused perk, reused golden armor vest, and some of the worst storytelling ever. They had 4 years to make this game. I would’ve much rather waited longer for a better map. Nobody wants quantity over quality. And treyarch did not market the Tomb as a bonus map so it should be treated the same as any other dlc 2 map.
Shame there’s no Tyronious Canine Smithinson!!!
17:06 totally agree
Isn’t this the guy that said weever>richtofen with his whole chest?

What is that description 😂
1:06:10 how are AATs being powerful an issue? Who the heck would want weak AATs like we have now, that completely removes that option for high rounding.
20:09 but I don’t think that the game is more repayable
I love the tomb my fav map , a little bit harder and not as on autopilot like the other bo6 maps .
Be funny if you guys rebranded the episodes if chop or tdawg are missing!
Its just lazy slop, you can enjoy it but it really just have no reason to exist, just a filler map with unoriginality strapped to it
So who wrote that description 😂
They need to bring fun back to zombies. Like cool maps. Another celeb map. Anything fun. All of it seem like boring. Kinda.
The Tomb is really fun though, it's one of the only male recently I've went to round 100, because of how fun it is, you probably don't find it fun, because you don't prefer the new mechanics, which is fine.
Yoo Stanley the goat
I think everyone just LOVES to complain, The Tomb in terms of core gameplay is an easy 8/10 by Cold War standards, BO3 is still GOAT, but we’re never getting that quality again
I think your completely missing the mark on what people mean about maps being the same in bo6 chopper.
We have the same selection of killstreaks on every single map which makes the high round strat the mutant injection on every single map which basically completely kills all variety for high rounding.
the loadout system and point system incentivise you spawning and sticking with the meta weapon every single game in a linear progression that never gets switched up and makes gambling at the box obsolete.
every map has the same weapons selection, enemies, features, equipment etc when all if not most of this used to be unique per map in bo1-bo3.
It just makes all these maps feel like layout changes and it just completely kills replay ability unless your a camo grinder because these maps in bo6 are simply arena changes to use the same shit in
Zombies has devolved
Can't upgrade staff in public matches big L
No hate but... Who wrote the description lol
28:47 to be fair thats all of bo1 they just did it more interesting than bo6
Tee torg smighty
It's average, not really replayable but not horrible, its like a 5/10 right now
I miss the cipher, the morse codes, the environmental story, and game mechanics that integrate the story, all of which made the community feel like detective unraveling, this elaborate puzzle. Bo6 feels really shallow and straightforward, with no real mystery or interesting development, just a mishmash of things that came before it that sometimes contradicts itself.
Current Treyarch lacks any creativity and imagination, they got really lucky having Blundell fill the void in BO3 and BO4. Kevin Drew can take ideas from Chaos all he wants and implement them into BO6 but if you have no creativity or vision for the franchise then its not really gonna matter. Its honestly shocking they borrowed Chaos and managed to do nothing interesting with it because its the easiest win you can possibly get
Y'know that he's not the one writing at Treyarch? Craig Houston is the one doing the writing, he was one of the main writers since WaW, and also co created Chaos, so he's the one who mainly brought nack Chaos, Kevin is just one of the directors for the game.
1:02:16 You wanna fix the mystery box? Starting pistol and classic point system, it’s that simple. Modern zombies is trash.
Holy frick it’s stanley557
No it doesn’t. Next question
people didnt listen when everyone was mad about bo6 zombies before it came out everyone just wanted to call people haters for that
Stanley so based
1:07:18 Mystery Box should always have a weapon at a higher rarity than what you currently have. Making it a resource trade off of points in favor of having to get less salvage just for it to feel like there is more relevance
Then you would just pay 3k and have a orange gun if you start even at green. No way that would work. It wouldn't really be a mystery box if you knew what was going to come out of it.
This would NOT work. The point of the mystery box is a random chance at getting something good with the risk of something worse than you have or not worth the 950 points
Amonguss!!!
The tomb is the closest thing we’re getting to classic zombies
14:43 ok so hear me out, I listen to this movie podcast called the weekly planet and they have a rating system of best movie ever worst movie ever or just a movie and long explanation short their conclusion is that just a movie or Fine as you are calling the tomb here is worse by far than being the worst movie ever. with a great map you obviously have a great time, with a bad map you can at least enjoy how crap it is but with a map that is just fine there isn’t anything to latch onto so the majority of people will end up with a negative impression of it. the tomb is all reused elements that we enjoy in theory but without a connective glue of new ideas and exciting stories it all feels so bland and pointless.
Dont say anything too hash because no name here will come after you and your family…

The tomb Fckin sucks. Not the top 10 worst maps or anything like that. But, It's not good apart from the atmosphere everything else is 💩
it's got a fun gameplay loop, just loading up and playing the game is the most fun on the tomb imo
Just watch no name here will make a video defending this game from you guys …
Here first again boys
It’s terrible
H2m mod is back. The new horizan modern warfare mod. Check now tdawg.
This map, imo, it sucks! The only time I find myself enjoying The Tomb, is when the Origins music plays. But it just makes me wanna play Origins. The constant boss spam after round 40 is so cringe. Idc what the excuse is. The spam is cringe. The problem is the elites themselves aren’t even hard ??? They’re just SPAMMED, because they know the zombies themselves are ZERO threat.
This is a typical nostalgia chasing zombies player comment
