  • Peyote contains a compound called Mescaline, very similar to LSD. It acts on the Serotonin receptors in your central nervous system, leading to a variety of physiological effects!

What Is Peyote? A species of hallucinogenic cactus. It is found in the Chihuahuan desert around the border along the south of north america and northern Mexico. Peyote is generally illegal in most places, although there is an exemption for certain sacred and religious ceremonies.
How Does Peyote Work? Once a person ingests it, the body absorbs mescaline rather quickly. The effects may begin in under an hour and can last for around 12 hours.
Mescaline interacts with 5-HT2 receptors in the brain, which are also the targets of other classic hallucinogens such as LSD and psilocybin mushrooms. They are likely responsible for the “trip” a person experiences when using these substances.
What are the effects of Peyote? Vivid hallucinations, Visual Distortion, Auditory DIstortion, Synthesesia, and even time distortion. Peyote triggers an altered state of consciousness often described as happy, positive, enjoyable, illuminating, feeling like you are in a dream-like state. This can last for around 12 hours. As the body breaks down the mescaline, the effects wear off.
What are the risks associated with Peyote? Vomiting, headache, anxiety, or simply a bad trip. If you don’t feel safe and comfortable, a mescaline trip can be confusing & scary.
A good trip can be pleasant and amusing, but if you start to panic, bad trips can be terrifying. Overdosing on peyote is unlikely, although it can happen. Treatment generally involves hydration therapy to replace fluid lost from vomiting.

I think, it should be left for those in the NAC and those down south of the border. People who aren't introduced to it properly should not take it, it's very dangerous if it's not done in it's right environment. As one who has take part in these ceremonies, it is not meant to be 'pleasant' the effects are very exaggerated. The hallucinations are only if you overuse the medicine, it should not be made light of it's a very sacred thing and there's a reason why the medicine has a ceremony.

I took some Peyote tea and it was the strongest psychedelic I ever tried. I saw reality dissolve into a void of nothingness. For a brief moment I became a small grain of sand in a gigantic ocean that’s called the universe. The experience was terrifying, yet so beautiful and humbling at the same time. Visuals lasted for over 8 hours. Shapes, colors and sounds were magnified, everything was a work of art; like God used a painting brush to create the universe and we are all part of his beautiful work of art. I will never try Peyote again, I learned what I needed from this plant was like a teacher. Unlike mushrooms, Peyote It’s not something to be tried “recreationally”

one thing that I didn't see mentioned in this video is that Peyote is a rare cactus that grows quite slowly. it is also a very sacred cactus to many of the indigenous people of the chihuahuan desert, who are really the only people with a fair claim to the land where it grows. therefore, unless you are purchasing directly from these indigenous groups, or are invited to partake with them, it is a much better idea to purchase one of the other cacti that contain mescaline (san pedro, peruvian torch, echinopsis zamnesiana, etc) because the majority of these cacti grow much faster and are thus much more sustainable for commerial purposes, *and you wouldn't be taking from a small supply of sacred flora*

Recently on mescaline, I was rubbing my eyes with my towel after I had taken a shower, and all of a sudden in that "space" of rubbing my eyes, it felt like my mind linked with a time in my childhood where I was rubbing my eyes inside of a cafeteria lunch room almost 12 years ago. The memory was so vivid it literally felt like a time portal had opened in my bathroom. Mescaline is my favorite psychedelic. I've done it 4 times now, and it's still hard to explain the effects because they seem to change every time! All I can say, is please try it! You may just have one of the greatest experiences of your life! :)

I've done LSD a number of times. If you have, how does mescaline compare to LSD?

    • @Jlewismedia
      @Jlewismedia ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@jeroenconinx6121 It can be a bit more intense because it has a strong "body high", you feel very aware of not only your inner consciousness as on other psychedelics but a very strong sense for your body. It's a bit like lsd and a low dose of mdma (aka. candyflipping), so you have that desire to connect/express/etc. while absolutely tripping nuts. The process itself of making mescaline tea from peyote or san pedro (very easy process) makes it a whole new experience, just knowing you extracted the "experience" from the plant yourself changes your mood and attitude towards it and gives you a sense of connection. It's very hard to talk scientifically about it's experience because it does differ and there's a strong "spiritual" side to it. Just go easy if you make your own, it can be hard to judge it's strength and it takes hours to kick in. The first time I did it I accidentally ended up with a double dose or more because I thought it wasn't working, ended up having a good and life changing experience but it was a risky move.

One thing I would add, is that with LSD, the visuals, thoughts, and feelings all seem to be coming from a drug. Whereas, with mescaline, everything seems to be coming from your own brain. It's like the drug is unlocking your brain's potential to see everything in a different way! It's pretty incredible! I love acid though too! 🙂

As with every hallucinogen, if your starting out and new to it. A small crowd, smaller the better, maybe you and a friend or 2. Inside or outside but a mentally and physically safe spot. If something bad happens or bad thoughts they can take over and turn you from a happy laughing giggler to panic mode. I live in the country and and always around natural. When we do them one of us always goes missing for a bit, myself included, Its because we go into the bush when things get to be to much or we start feeling bad vibes. The bush is your friend on this stuff but know the area, you dont need to fall off a cliff or into water. Like this guy said, dont fight it, your not going to over dose on mushrooms or mescal

I did high dose of mescaline on three occasions, In this case it was San Pedro cactus or huachuma. I have learned a lot from those experiences and I understand why people write books about their experiences. It showed me how to still my mind, connect with nature, become the observer , how to use all my senses, and learn from everything. The time had stopped and I’ve turned in to a stone. In my visions I was crucified, I stood next to god in heaven and seen miraculous things that made me cry tears of joy. It’s makes you see everything with your heart not your brain. It has to be approached with great respect and used in ceremonial settings, with proper preparation accompanied by experienced person and it will change you in to a better person. Purging (vomiting) negativity is a key part of the success.

    Melted and Disappeared
Like a spear in the fear
    Of death
    What’s left is emptiness
    A not knowing
    From the flowing
    Going toe to toe and
The brand is a Zen Koan
    Unsolvable to the bone
I came down after the peak
I sought a seat to sit and think
Every drink I took made me look
    I shook up
    Cooked up new styles
    With new files
    I smile
    As I practice the Dances
    I shall never forget
One day the threat will fade
    And the Psychedelic
    Will still tell it
    I Melt into trip
    Black Dragon Lock
    Controlled the block
    Before I took stock
    Of what was
    Does
    And has always been
    I sought to study them
    These
    Thoughts of Masters Passed
    Everyone brought their own experience
And left with a tear shed
    In reference I see everything

Leave our medicine alone! You left out how important this medicine is to our Indigenous people. Making sound like everyone should try. We've literally had to figut for our religious rights to use this in our ceremonies after it was banned by the government. Leave it alone and dont mess with it please.

This is a way of life
    One Way, One Way, Only.
These people know nothing on our way of life , know nothing on how to conduct oneself around this medicine or medicine people, you all know nothing of the protocols or the unspoken rules unless one has been brought up in this life.
This way of life is not a play toy or an experience to experiment with these medicines or sacred articles.
You all are treating these ways of life like a
    Rainbow gathering of false enlightenment.
This way of life is not
like a college degree where once you get
it you hang it on the wall and it's
    yours forever.
more it either is or it
    isn't your way of life,
in this moment, every one of you has to accept in this life. In other words,
    who you are
    or
you're not. This is our way of life, not yours.
so to let you all know that we are not
allowing any corporations, share holders , and investors to try and bastardize this sacred way of life.
We shall not allow corporations, board of investors, and insurance companies to violate and bastardize what was given to NAC by the Federal Government, these laws only apply to Native American Church,
any the chapters that have sold out these ways will be sued personally and any attempt from attorneys shall be bar grievances filed against them and the law firms that represent the said attorneys, any judge that attemps to overide Federal laws shall have judicial discipline complaints filed and any attempt to try and have legislators rewrite Federal law will be delt with in Federal Court.

MDMA borrows most of its psychedelic effects from mescaline. With of course a dash of amphetamines.
