My dog had fanconi syndrome which is a Severe kidney disorder. Every time we took her outside she would dig up dandelion and eat the roots. We didn't fill her up with all of the pills the vets wanted to sell us. She lived 13 years and the vets were completely astounded. She was active and healthy up until the last month of her life.
as someone who works in the vet field, I don't agree with everything in it as well as modern human med too. currently im getting into learning herbal medicine
Dandelion has a beneficial effect on the liver. The fresh stems of the flower, five to six pieces, chewed daily bring swift relief in chronic inflammation of the liver (sharp pain felt in the region of the lower corner of the right shoulderblade). As long as the plant is in flower, diabetics should eat up to 10 stems daily. The stems with the flowers are washed and only then is the flowerhead removed and the stems are slowly chewed. They taste somewhat bitter at first, but are crisp and juicy similar to a leaf of endive. Sickly people who feel constantly tired and are without energy should take a 14-day course of treatment with the fresh stems of Dandelion. The effect is surprising.
I do not currently have outdoor space of my own. Can I grow dandelions in a window box? I love drinking the tea. Would love to use other parts of the plant.
Absolutely I was just saved by Dandelion Root I ended up fighting some pain with Tylenol Well I was taking it for months 3x a day Stupid yes I know I should have went to a chiropractor The pain started in kidneys or liver not sure I was scared I got on dandelion it saved me Man was I in pain with a pillow over my mouth Within 2 days on the Root gone Lesson Learned Tylenol is no joke people
Awesome and informative video. I live for roasted dandelion root tea. I remember when I read Psalm 114 and the LORD said that that we were given olive oil to soothe our skin. Everything that we need the LORD has provided. We just have to search, study and grow.
Hahaha, I'm missing a few of those in my garden. Now I'll have to watch it again with pencil and paper. Thank you for also including the biblical herbs. New sub. and looking forward to more. Blessings to you from Linda, zone 8a Georgia.
I have most of these and look forward to adding the 3 that I'm lacking. Plantain is my go-to for so much. If you haven't made a salve with it or don't have it with you, just crush a leaf to bring up the juices and rub it on bites and rashes. Kills the itch and inflammation.
Mullein is a weed that grows all over my N. Idaho property. I dry the leaves for a tea that is anti- inflammatory, relaxing, helps with sleep, good for respiratory issues. One goal this year is to add more medicinal plants and make my own herb tea combos. Thanks, great video
@@CountryLivingExperience I have used it many times. A word of caution: if you get it wet after you apply the cayenne it will sting. I wait until my wound is healed, then wash off.
Two of my favorites are calendula and hibiscus. The cheerful orange and yellow calendula blossoms bloom in the spring. A poultice of the petals healed a very painful spider bite when everything else failed, including some expensive antibiotics. I also use hibiscus flowers for high blood pressure. A cup of the delicious tea at bedtime will lower my blood pressure, both putting me to sleep and, more importantly, keeping me asleep. Otherwise I wake up at 2am, fresh as a daisy. It’s a popular folk medicine and you can get bags of the dried flowers very cheaply at Mexican markets.
Cayenne pepper is a natural blood thinner without the horrible side effects of pharma blood thinners. I drink it with water or orange juice. Started doing this after getting a superficial blood clot in 2019, have been taking this for 5 years now. I was fortunate to find your channel & subscribed 😊. I am also in Texas zone 8b & a beginner gardener. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. God bless!
I like frying dandelion flowers in a thin tempura batter. Chopped fine and stir fried, the leaves loose their bitterness. There is a great coffee substitute you can buy. Dandee, is a mix of dandelion root and chicory.
I have dandelion growing everywhere I love the stuff when we need to mow I go out and harvest everything I can above the ground, and I have an Area where I grow them to harvest the root also. we use it ,and my ducks and chickens love it also ,I dry it and use it in soups and stews the kids just think it’s parsley 🤫🙂
Hey man, please do a part two of this video. Very good information in it. I live in Sweden and part of them I already have but didn't know about the medical properties, those I don't have I'll look after right now! Thanks for sharing this info and God bless you man!
Here in Brazil, our soil is very rich in medicinal plants. Recently I have been researching some and I have been surprised by the various applications in health problems, sometimes their effectiveness compared to that of laboratory medicines. amazing!
We have some friends who bought land next to us. We both love Elderberries so after their house is finished being built, we’re going to plant 2 Elderberry trees on our property line. (You have to plant 2 separate varieties for cross pollination).
Great content! We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the homesteading areas. This will surely give them motivation to try new activities like planting these kind of medicinal herbs. Thanks for sharing! 😊
I grew my own Self Heal last season for the first time! I made tinctures from it too...be careful with Lemon Balm, itll spread like crazy all over your place! The smell is heavenly , tho!!!!!!! I love it!
Awesome video. I hope you can make a series about medicinal plants. One powerful plant is Marshmallow (no, not those sugar bombs). It is very good as a tea to relieve congestion. I used to make a tea of Eucalyptus, Marshmallow root, and peppermint, and add honey after brewing when I would get bronchitis. Very soothing, and did help clear my lungs.
Just wonderful! Thank you! God surely does provide for our needs. As the song goes... “we’ve got to get ourselves back to the Garden,”. Enjoyed learning a lot from you. All the best & God bless!
Pine trees can also be used as an ingredient in homemade soap! Diced small and worked into the soap it adds those benefits you mentioned and exfoliates the skin.
I never knew about pine needles. That you can take them internally. I make pine vinegar to clean my house. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it. Now I have to gather some and make a tincture cause I have many tinctures, but not Pine. You have a blessed day as well.❤
Eucalyptus is a nice drought resistant tree for respiratory issues as well. But it's hard on your water table, so maybe either not such a good idea, or keep it down to a couple. They shed a lot too, but they grow super fast, burn well and copice well also. Frankincense and myrrh are dried tree resin. Both offer some nice medicinal benefits as well as a pleasant aroma.

Thank you so much. Glad you are moving forward and building your homestead. I am thinking of getting bees too. I have just not had time to get them yet.
Thank you 🙏🏼 I would love to learn more from you about medicinal plants and herbs. Especially, for pain and arthritis. I want to get off of all the pain meds. I love your channel and subscribed, so looking forward to learning from you. My husband and I have wanted to start a little homestead, but I really need to get better and be able to function better to do the work involved. So, I'm very interested in going with natural remedies, because I've gone the route of our typical prescribed medication that I've found has caused more problems, so you are doing something very special, very needed, God bless you and your family! 🪴🌻
Same here - I've found making my own sz 0 turmeric capsules (etsy sells a machine to make #0 gelatin caps, amazon sells the caps) and getting Anthony's turmeric and collagen and adding about 1/8tsp hyaluronic acid (powder, bulk bags) to the tumeric caps with about 5 capsules of tumeric per day keeps the pain away. Also using 8000-10,000iu vitamin D (fermented cod liver oil, Carsins brand) 8000mg vitamin c liposome, and solaray Mineral Max & kelp for iodine (day time, take with meals bc they are fat soluble). At night I use a B5 and sunflower oil with passion flower tea (you can also do caps) help with deep restorative sleep (I always use a Deep Sleep Hemi-Sync meditation from Monroe Institute to obtain the deepest relaxation/REM - but they also have a pain relief meditation that is extraordinary). I take it collagen in a kefir, coconut oil, spirilina, soursop (also called gabana - Wal-Mart or amazon carry it dried in bags in the Hispanic medicine section), banana or apple, aloe, cranberry juice, moringa leaves, kale, d mannose (natural cure for uti problems) and konjac root powder to start the day. For direct application for pain, look to an extract of wild lettuce that you could down, strain the juice and dry in the oven. You can make caps out of that. You can also apply Voltan cream (diflonec I think is the pharma baggie), or by making a salve of plantain, comfrey, and calendula.
I wish I knew this before I had my gallbladder removed 30 years ago.😢 Blessings 🙏🤗 Ps. Cayenne stops bleeding too and floods the part that needs blood. Herbs were made for the service of men.
You can treat the loss of sensitivity in your hands and feet because of Polyneuropathic or other problems with Cayenne pepper baths (beware of open skin!). Take 1 soupspoon full of cayenne pepper powder for a foot bath. Stay in it 20 - 30 minutes. Rins your feet with clear water to remove the cayenne pepper afterwards.

I am sure there are books out there. I just learn by watching and doing. I have learned from friends and going to seminars and reading different articles.
Sally, we’re no experts but if you are just starting out (which we are) we have found The Medicinal Gardening Handbook by Dede Cummings and Alyssa Holmes to be a great resource on plants, cultivation, harvesting and storage, as well as recipes and preparation for/of herbal concoctions. The great thing about it is it’s not a bible of overwhelming data but starts us off with something like 12 cultivated herbs and 12 wild herbs, and goes from there. If it fits, you might want to try it.
@@appalachianheartsong5487 much appreciated! I cook with tons of herbs but using them medicinally is so different, it will be nice to have more used for them. 😊
The Bible tells us that God has provided everything we need and stay away from pharmacopeia (which translated means "sorcery" and we all know to stay away from that). I'm new to this channel and fell upon it somehow; so glad I did! Blessings all 🥰
does anyone have a list of the herbs mentioned in this video? i'm trying to start my own garden but its hard to write them down while watching the video
Plantain as pain reliever? That's new to me. Please explain. I'm in Australia. We have narrow and broadleaved in our grass. I know it's antibacterial, antifungal and anti inflammatory. It can be used to break up bronchial coughs when made Ito tea. Juice (crushing it) to get rid of school sores/coldsores. Farmers use the juice on cuts, use them as bandaids
@@CountryLivingExperience true, I just thought you meant stronger like say poppy juice or willow bark (and people watching this thread, PLEASE research either of those extensively before using as both are potent and do more than relieve pain, you do not want to cause more harm then good). Chamomile is also a mild pain reliever btw.
Awesome video, appreciate your time explaining this...what herbs would you use to kill cancer please and what would you use for pain? Can this please also be sent to my email?
You're welcome. There are no herbs that just outright kill cancer. Ridding yourself of cancer naturally is a process of eliminating things from your diet and environment that feed cancer. Disease is the effort of nature to free the system from conditions the result from the violations of the laws of health.
Great video, really interested in growing some of these. Do you know of any books on these Medicinal Herbs And Plants? Wondering what interactions may occurr if some are mixed or too much used.
I can do a video in the future on that. Most can be used in teas, some in poultices, some in tinctures. It is an extensive topic. God bless you as well.
I really need to find someone who can help teach me everything I need to know about medicinal plants and how to grow them. I just wish I had a place to grow them and the money to grow them all inside a bunker. I also want to build a cave house and plant everything inside the cave.
Pine needle tea can fend off scurvy, which is lack of vitamin c...many pilgrims died from scurvy on the Mayflower and even after they arrived in america.

Awesome! Thank you!
Great info!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome !!! Anything in planting eyebright ?
My favorite video!

The Bible tells us that God has provided everything we need and stay away from pharmacopeia (which translated means "sorcery" and we all know to stay away from that). I'm new to this channel and fell upon it somehow; so glad I did! Blessings all 🥰
Amen and amen!
We own 1/2 of a mtn here in north central WA state. It’s heavily forested with Douglas Fir trees. Can I eat the needles?

Plantain as pain reliever? That's new to me. Please explain.
I'm in Australia. We have narrow and broadleaved in our grass. I know it's antibacterial, antifungal and anti inflammatory. It can be used to break up bronchial coughs when made Ito tea. Juice (crushing it) to get rid of school sores/coldsores. Farmers use the juice on cuts, use them as bandaids
You just explained it. As an anti-inflammatory, as it stops the inflammation, the pain qill quickly subside.
Wow
I was told that ponderosa pine is toxic. Of course, I live in a Ponderosa pine forest. Any info on that?
I have never heard that. I have drank it with no issues before.
Have you done the tinctures video yet? where can I find it?
I have not had the opportunity to do that video yet.
We just started planting comfrey for our garden and chickens. I hear it's got medical uses . Any thoughts? Or advice?
It does have great medicinal purposes. We did a video making a salve out of it.
Don’t ingest it. It’s a topical. Small amounts can be ingested but I wouldn’t chance it
Awesome video, appreciate your time explaining this...what herbs would you use to kill cancer please and what would you use for pain? Can this please also be sent to my email?
You're welcome. There are no herbs that just outright kill cancer. Ridding yourself of cancer naturally is a process of eliminating things from your diet and environment that feed cancer. Disease is the effort of nature to free the system from conditions the result from the violations of the laws of health.
Great video, really interested in growing some of these. Do you know of any books on these Medicinal Herbs And Plants? Wondering what interactions may occurr if some are mixed or too much used.
Thank you. There are many books out there. I glean information from several places including friends, lectures, seminars, books, and articles.
How do I identify the pine I have on my property in Florida ?
Usually your local University extension office will have online identification guides.
Thank you
Will you please tell us how to use the herbs for healing.
I can do a video in the future on that. Most can be used in teas, some in poultices, some in tinctures. It is an extensive topic. God bless you as well.
@@CountryLivingExperience thank you and GOD Bless you again and may GOD watch over you and yours.
I really need to find someone who can help teach me everything I need to know about medicinal plants and how to grow them. I just wish I had a place to grow them and the money to grow them all inside a bunker. I also want to build a cave house and plant everything inside the cave.
Bro u should also grow moringa आ
I do.
Pine needle tea can fend off scurvy, which is lack of vitamin c...many pilgrims died from scurvy on the Mayflower and even after they arrived in america.
Absolutely
What about comfrey
Yep, also a good one. I mentioned I will make a part 2.
Subscribed as soon as I heard Bible 😅
Dandelion stems reverse macular degeneration of the eyes!
Very cool
Sorry to bother you but after using Copper on my plants how long do I need to wait to eat the leaves that I spayed.
A few days and then wash them well.
@@CountryLivingExperience ok thank you very much.
Plantain works great for bug bites.
Absolutely!
