- This was a learning experience for me, and hopefully for you. I think the images came out beautiful and the GVM lights were amazing, but the failure also came about indirectly from the lights.
I shot this on the Leica M11-P with the Voigtlander Ultron 75mm f/1.9 I was at iso 200 1/320 sec at f/3.5

The lighting companies should hire and there would be less junk on the market!
Thanks for a nice video John, and to your client for allowing herself to be filmed. I recently started following you, primarily through searching about Leica and M mount lenses - I think the Voigtlander. Anyhow, the fact that a UK based amateur landscape photographer is watching your videos of studio lighting - I think that's a compliment. 🙂 Cheers!
p.s maybe you should also buy a fluff remover roller for future clients, just in case? 😉
It most certainly is and I take that as the highest compliment
😂😂 I just finished removing it in photoshop. And yes, it was on my desk instead of used
they look very similar to the Inkee Goldcrow 60 something, but there you have a full-size Bowens mount integrated. But the results would be the same
It is very similar, but the Inkee Goldcrow 60 has a 142Wh battery, so it will last longer. However, you can't bring it with you on a flight (carry-on or check-in) due to regulations. The GVM PocketLight 60B has a 100Wh battery, meaning you can bring it with you as a carry-on, but not in your checked baggage. I would rather go with the GVM and wait for the accessories and the Bowens Mount Adapter. If you want a light that you can put in your carry-on and check-in luggage, maybe you should check out the WELLMAKING Portable 80W Bi-Color LED. The light is bi-color, small, and has an integrated Bowens mount. The battery separates easily from the light, but to use it at full power, you will have to buy special batteries.
Love the real world stuff! This is great.
Thank you Nick. Sucks when you don’t get the results you want but live and learn.
this convinces me to use strobes and speedlites
I am potentially interested in the GVM PD60 RGB version with no battery, thats PD Powered with the Fresnel and Barn Doors, especially if the Barn Doors fit on the Fresnel. My interest is in a small highly controlable, RGB COB, thats very light weight (hence the no battery version) because I want to be able to boom up to 2/3 metres with a telescopic carbon fibre boom. A small light LED means I don't need to take big heavy weight grip on location.
I have seen a picture of it and some video of it on a stand at NAB.
Thanks for the information.
The light comes with a Full Bowens Mount or is it a Mini Bowens Mount?
Mini bowens
