On February 2nd, around 4:50 PM, I was riding my bike on Riverfront Road, where a large crowd had gathered for Goswami’s meetup. I was just passing by, wearing my riding gear, and riding at a normal speed.
Suddenly, a police car stopped in front of me. I wasn’t speeding or breaking any rules, but they still blocked my way. Out of respect, I stopped my bike.
Then, one officer took my bike key for no reason. Another officer pulled me into their car. They falsely accused me of doing stunts and causing the crowd to gather.
My helmet, which had a camera, was taken by another officer and kept under their seat. After that, they beat me up and abused me with bad words.
At the police station, they filed a false memo, claiming I was riding dangerously and not wearing a helmet-which was completely untrue. I was forced to pay the fine.
Then, they made me delete my camera footage, but later, I managed to recover it.
My Question:
I have paid my fine and don’t want to take any action, but I just want to know-why did this happen to me? And if someday, somewhere, something bad happens to me, should I call the police?
