-You might want to consider to leave space all around your new greenhouse, so you can fix any damage that might occur in the future or any cleaning of the sheets that might need doing (moss/algae growing etc).
We have foxes and have never had problem with them and our birds. They eat slugs too! They rarely dig up anything so maybe give him a chance, I did chuckle when he sneaked up on you. Emma the Wildlife Whisperer 😂😂
Very pleased for you Emma getting your greenhouse you will have so much fun with it you deserve it as you work so hard. I'm 72 and live in Yorkshire I've gardened for years l wish you were closer I would give you at least one of my forks after seeing yours so if your ever up here let me know once again good luck with with the G. House and make sure you fasten it down well 😊😊
🤗👍...if you buy the polycarbonate greenhouse, put a base of 6" x 6" fence posts down ( pinned to the soil) then fix the greenhouse to it so it doesn't blow away...cheapest option 😉 👍 Also, wire in each panel. 😁👍
Good advice. We did your tip after initially putting up on quite an exposed plot in a February. After the whole thing ended up elsewhere😅 With the polycarbonate panels, it being on the Alloment so not overly concerned with the aesthetic, I put that thick black tape round the frame of each panel. After the 2 recent 50mph storms it’s still intact and standing. Few lessons learned!!!
Hello Emma, I binged watched your videos yesterday, in an attempt to gain some calm in this mad world. I can see your progression on the plot and also the increase in your personal confidence. Keep going ♡
Hi Emma - Please take heed of the comments regarding the greenhouse panels flying out - I have a similar greenhouse and had to put strengthening bars across the panels to hold them in. Please make sure you give yourself a couple of weekends with help to erect it and be absolutely sure there is no wind forecast. I do a lot of DIY and I found the greenhouse build really fiddly. Also make sure you get it absolutely level otherwise you will struggle getting the panels to slide in. Hope these comments save you from a few curses!!! Good luck and keep up the vlogs.
Tying up your cauliflower leaves is essentially blanching the heads Emma, so the coloured ones will not be very coloured. Also, if you tie them as tightly as this, you are preventing air flow, which I'm guessing is why most have gone mouldy inside their little parcels 🙃. Keep experimenting, and good luck with the greenhouse prep! ❤
I'm so excited for your greenhouse! I know some people aren't keen on polycarbonate panels, but I hope it turns out well for you, Emma. My small greenhouse is wooden with a full wooden back and perspex windows. I have grown loads in it. I think if you anchor it down properly, it should be fine. Well done for taking the plunge 😊
How lovely to get a gift from fellow plot holders. Just a heads up regarding the greenhouse, I had a polycarbonate one on the plot I used to have, gust of heavy winds and the poly sheets would go flying!! There is one you tuber who had to put batons on either side of greenhouse to stop this problem. Keep up the fantastic work 👍🏻
oh i have the same green house, this will be the third summer coming up. i agree leave enough room to walk around it, and you WILL want someone to help you put it together, fallow the steps, it's a bit tricky, but you will love having it!
I can’t believe you leave your shed unlocked! Up our way sheds even with multiple locks get broken into for equipment 😔 you are so lucky at your plot that people put things in yours!!! 🎁
It's so true that to have a project like preparing for your greenhouse helps to make you feel motivated and happy - that's exactly how I feel with my allotment projects. I have a greenhouse gifted to me (still in lots of bits in my garden) so it will be useful for me to see you prepare and build yours. Good luck 🙂
That was a good choise to get the greenhouse. It was a really god price. Make sure you have the ground really flat and even when you put it up. Leave clear spaces around it so you can wash it off when you need to. Good luck!
Hi Emma, the greenhouse looks great, we got ours from the marketplace on Facebook and cost us £150 for two 8ft by 6ft greenhouses. It will be a great addition to you plot.😊
Hi Emma as you have chosen polycarbonate Green House it would would be beneficial if you secure the panels with clear silicone i had a smaller one and the kept getting blown out but have not had any further problems withe the silicone, hope you have a wonderful Christmas and wish you all the best for the new year. ❤
When you put the greenhouse up, prepare the ground well and if you can make a proper base for the frame to sit in that you can screw it in to otherwise the wind will take it 😂 You could get bricks off of Facebook marketplace, dig down around the frame and cement the bricks in, probably a couple of bricks deep, you can then screw it in to the bricks and it should be extremely secure.
How exciting Emma, your going to love it and you can sit inside it and watch all the wildlife that comes on your plot.lf you leave the door ajar or window you know who will be nesting in there 😊 Mrs Robin ❤
My partner built me a wood polycarb greenhouse. Just a couple of things to fix through 2 years. Through some huge storms. It's been fun and at the moment it's keeping a few garden plants safe from frost, can't wait for growing season again. ❤
@debyorkshirelass9674 yes we built our own as well, and it's lasted almost six years.A couple of things need doing to it but it was so well worth it.Have a wonderful week ahead 💞
When you chased off the fox it reminded me of why I want to get into gardening. I worry about everything, all the little bugs and plants... thought it might harden me up a bit. It hasn't. But *one* day!
Hi Emma good luck with your greenhouse, you will have so much fun with it, I have a 6x6 greenhouse and wished I had a bigger one, you will be able to grow so much in it,
Fantastisch Good work Emmas you the best te moostuin te opruimen the voor the greenhouse onkruid brambesen grasing thans the video Top week 🌾🌿🍂🧹🧢🧤🦺👍☕️🔥😅🎄🎁
Congratulations on your new greenhouse try to stay calm and don't rush it look at other people's greenhouse how they have boat is it down to the ground you should probably bolt it down to slabs or something very heavy like train sleepers❤
Hi, Emma, i also tried those purple and orange cauliflowers this year, i have had the same experience with them as you, i didnt tie up the leaves but ended up with munched on by slugs orange cauliflowers and one! Not too munched on Purple one 😂
Hi Emma. Be very careful with your polycarbonate greenhouse. The lady on the next plot to me had one and even though it was bolted down onto paving slabs in one of the very windy storms we had it ended up 3 plots away completely smashed. You are better off building it on railway sleepers even though they cost money it will save your greenhouse if you bolt it down. Good Luck. Mike B.
Emma, a greenhouse will bring lots of new garden opportunities. Will you be attaching the greenhouse to the ground as polycarbonate are nit as heavy as gladden greenhouses. Good luck and enjoy .....
JMHO, but I'd still reconsider getting a polycarbonate one... they're not much more than a glorified polytunnel, and the panels are dislodged much easier during storms. A glass greenhouse will get/stay warmer inside and extend your growing season more. Best of luck! (Oops, I made that comment before you clicked the BUY button, LOL! Regardless, I'm sure it'll be helpful in your gardening adventures!)
I would be very wary of a polycarbonate greenhouse Emma, especially that just of late we have experienced very high winds in London, maybe do some research on allotmenteers have have owned one.
If in doubt about the best foundation for your greenhouse why not message Charles Dowding I’m sure he would give good advice Or Ben Van Herm as a gardener podcaster you are probably know to them! You probably know of both of them but I’m sure they will give good advice 😇❤️👍
There is a lady allotmenter you tuber, little green shed, who has a fox visit her allotment daily and she never seems to get any problems with her fox. I am sure you would be ok. They only dig to find earth worms for food as hy are hungry. If you feed it it will have no thoughts of finding food and you can't be there 24/7 to chase it away. Maybe try being a bit more tolerant and see how it goes. Great video. So exciting getting a shiny new greenhouse. So pleased for you. Happy growing 🙂

Don’t worry about chasing mr/ mrs fox away! Ignore comments. He/ she won’t care! You didn’t hunt him with dogs or snare him! A fox killed all my chickens and left them strewn all over the garden. I’m not a fox lover but wouldn’t kill one. Good luck with the greenhouse. Get loads of help in!
Congratulations on ordering your greenhouse I’m so excited for you, do make sure to make walking room around the greenhouse for keeping back weeds and to be able to maintain the greenhouse cleaning the windows and such. I don’t feel bad for you to keep the fox away from your allotments. They will start to feel comfortable digging and eating ip your garden and also start to have a family of their own to share your allotment with. Hope you have a great day and will see you on your next video

Next time when you tie up the cauliflower try sprinkling salt on head before wrapping . Not sure if this work but worth a try. How exciting to get a greenhouse.
I can't believe you did that to the fox!! So cruel especially the way you were so caring, he thought he had a friend!! Very disappointed to be fair kind of put me of watching you!
Love the greenhouse you chose. The deal is outstanding! I’m sure you will be so happy with it. Once you clear the area you should lay cardboard and/or patio pavers for the floor.
-You might want to consider to leave space all around your new greenhouse, so you can fix any damage that might occur in the future or any cleaning of the sheets that might need doing (moss/algae growing etc).
Made me smile when the fox appeared behind you. 😊
Awww me too was beautiful 💕 🦊 but I do worry they’ve become too trusting of humans.
You work so hard I am older but the stuff you do on your own is amazing x

Foxes are not a problem. People luv to give foxes a bad rap.
The hard part is not buying one,it's putting it together😂,that would make a great video🎉😂

We did this with ours, too. I works really good if you can do it.
A very wise man named Alfred Wainwright once said ``there's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.''
I would wait to assemble the greenhouse to springtime, just to let the worst storms pass over winter :)
happy december, Emma
