Just discovered your channel. I made a couple solo cross-country trips over the past few years, but I take a month and ride less miles so I can see more sights and enjoy the natural wonders. I love your determination. I wish I had started to ride at a younger age like you, but better late than never. I'm 68 and still have a lot of rides ahead of me. You go girl!
A few curse words and U-turns is what makes it an adventure and those are the moments we tend to remember for a lifetime and laugh about later. Beautiful video!
Man, I gotta tell you, I love your journey… and how cool to just saddle up and do it solo. The people, the conversations, the stories along the way are always epic. I generally choose to gas up the night before each day of riding. Roll out on the road around 5-6am or just as the sun is about 30 minutes from appearing, and finish up a full day of riding by about 3-4pm in the afternoon, a few hours before dark. That way I’m not rolling into unfamiliar territory in the dark, when your eyes can play games with you as fatigue starts to set in. Gives me time to unwind, hit a shower, grab dinner & relax. Congrats on having such a yearning to hit the dusty trail and see so much along the way! Whether it’s the Rocky Mountains or the plains across the Heartland, or hills thru Tennessee and the like, all this Landscape in this Country is epic in its own way. Thanks for sharing the travel.
Great ride, and wonderful editing. No long, painful shots of panoramas that don't translate to video. I love the way the music divides up the days, and sections of the ride (i.e. rain and sun). And, most of all, thank you for painting your pictures with the music, words, and video. Your vocabulary betrays the fact that you're more than a biker. I hear your free spirit flying and searching. Be brave enough to chase your dreams, and wise enough to know when they are within your grasp.

@@KillswitchQueen I worked in broadcasting for more years than I like to think about, and there were VERY high paid editors, at the network where I worked, who don't have the ability to put together a video as professional as your work. You should be very proud of yourself on a lot of levels!

Joining a bit late here, but just want to express my admiration for your guts and your persistence doing this marvellous trip! And mind you - I've only seen half of your first part. As far as age is concerned (comment on some comments below) I myself started riding in 1994. My first bike was a 1200 Sportster. Since then there's been 10 bikes of which 3 have been Harleys. My latest is a '06 Dyna (35th Anniversary Super Glide) that I bought this very autumn ('22). I turned 75 this summer and I can honestly say I never enjoyed riding more than today. One of our sons has joined me on his own bike since a couple of years and we've done some great long trips together. I fully agree on the saying: "You don't stop riding 'cause you're old. You get old when you stop riding". IMHO age is nothing more than an attitude. Once again - your trip and your stamina are both awesome! So is your filming and story telling! And your choice of background music! Keep the Faith and happy riding! / Peter (from Sweden, Europe) PS. Anyone interested in loooong motorcycle trips - I can really recommend the books by Ted Simon. His first is "Jupiter's travels". (4 years around the World). Many of you probably know of him, but for those who don't... ;)

When I can't ride a trike I'll go to a Spyder and when I can't ride that, well guess it's time to get a Segway and when I finally can't ride a Segway it'll be time to get one of those cute little mobility scooters. Wow, I hope you won't call me sexist to say you do NOT look your age!

I’m so proud of you! I did an New York to Alabama and another to Wisconsin, but that was many moons ago. My best one-day was 757 miles on my Bimmer. I almost needed a crane to get me off the saddle after that one! Ryde safe and we’re all waiting for episode two. Blessings!
Nothing but respect for you Queen, that's a lot of miles for a lil lady, on that type of bike is incredible, I did a trip from Vegas to Alabama then to Detroit back to Vegas via the northern route, on my Goldwing amazing ride, I too did it solo, just me and my gear, I'm ready for another cross country, but on my BMW gtl exclusive. Hang in there!

Great video, I'm extremely envious. Here in the UK I can ride from one end of the country to the other in 24 hours, well just about anyway. I would love to do an 11 day stretch from one end of the USA to the other. One day maybe but at 55 time is running out. Better get myself organised I guess, haha!
Do it TStyx. I've saved up and waited patiently for over 10 years to do a 5-month, 14,000 mile USA road trip on my Ducati Panigale. My dogs are 12 & 14 so once they've passed on, I'll be booking flights and air-freight for the following April - Aug. It the one dream, I've never let slip from my mind and once the time comes.... I'm gone!

Beautiful story and video, you went through my hometown of Kearney Nebraska, is saw the archway a great museum about the pioneers and western expansion, No not much scenery here but not much crime or filth either and you can still leave your doors unlocked at night, i really admire your courage to do a wonderful trip like that, it's on my bucket list, Wonderful footage you put together indeed, ride safe out there and thank you for sharing this.

So inspiring. Definitely on my bucket list to ride coast to coast, though maybe through less of the flat, central regions of the states. Also, I have the same (Primus?) gas bottle, and just wanted to point out that you should leave some space in the bottle for gas expansion. There's a fill line on the side. Great content as always!
Love your vid - good stuff. Can't help but think you would have got more out of it had you taken some backroads, however. Nebraska, which you said was dull actually has some of the best scenic roads (the Sandhills Scenic Byway) in the country which run parallel to the interstate and make for much better experience (and warmer)!
Nice video. Do you think you'll dump that Dyna and move up to a long distance touring rig? I know some people like the Dyna for inseam/standover comfort, but the Victory Cross Country Tour actually has a lower seat height with a phenomenal full windshield and bombproof element protection, or there's always the Ultra Classic if you don't mind vibration, are comfy with its weight, and excessive engine heat in the summer.
I know this is almost a year old, Rokform and Quadlock make fantastic mounting options for you to mount your phone to your motorycycle. Rokform is my platform of choice because of the built in magnet, having my GPS out and available has saved me from being lost and alone in some wild places. Luckily I dont need it anymore with the FLHXS but it saved my butt a few times before.
I do a cross country trip at least once a year. It's good for the soul. Keep it up and experience our beautiful country the best way you can, on a motorcycle.
I've been itching to hop on the road for a cross country trip on my bike. I ride a Street Glide ST and hope to find the courage to venture out one day. I think the time is coming very soon and this video motivated the hell out of me. Ride on!

Welcome back on the TH-cam channel. I was wondering what kept you offline for so long. Long distance on bike is no fun to me...but discovering USA this way is probably worth the effort.
I recognize that route well! I-80 from Sacramento to Chicago. You should go for an Iron Butt! The best way to cross Nevada is at night. You don’t miss much. And a word of warning about the salt flats in Utah. Make sure you’re not heading into the sun either direction because all that white will blind you if the sun is in your face.
Nice road trip..I would recommend a little more wind/weather protection for the long trips; I'm getting ready for some road trippin pretty soon too... Empire Calif. to Amarillo Texas...planning a Florida trip but that one will be later next summer...

This is a FANTASTIC video! I love how you told the story, used the music, just everything about it! On another note, I loved seeing NE and Frontier in this! Lincoln is my home town. You're absolutely right about the scenery through Nebraska... pretty bland. It's a great state other than that.

"Nebraska doesn't offer much in its scenery. If you're wondering what it looks like from the interstate, this is it"... Shows pic of the Archway in Kearney. Ha. I've driven across Nebraska many times and the Archway is one of the high points. I've never stopped there, and I never will.
the most I've done in a day was 300 miles. I've got plans to do more as I'm going to be in a position where no one will be waiting for me at home soon, but cross country is a long, long way off for me and my little 883 wingmaster.
what to do when your riding in potholes on the freeway with semi trucks next to you at night? This really got me tense on my first 200 plus trip from nevada to California. Arriving at Hesperia with all the construction the freeway was in very bad shape. My shoulders were sore for about two weeks :D any advice for next trip... did you ever get sore? I rode my 2013 phantom shadow 750
Fantastic videos. I'm heading from N. Cali to Nigeria Falls, Canada side in July, then over to Maine, then back through the lower states. My first time attempting a trip across the United States at 63, I'd be interested in the route you took; it looks like Rt. 80 on the way out. Also, did you stay with friends or Airbnb? If Airbnb, which one's, were they motorcycle friendly.
Although I would love to go from NY to ÇA the trip seems so boring and seems to be just a fight throughout. I think I will let mit myself to beautiful sceneries and varied vistas, certainly not a straight trip with mega trucks. Does not seem that much firm to me. Did you enjoy it or was it just a challenge?
Going to eventually do one. Just waiting till next year when spring breaks so I get the full summer to enjoy the ride! If you have any tips on riding that far let me know. I could always use advice. Good luck and stay safe! :)
Living in the UK, there is no trip available to me that compares to the over 5000 miles across USA, could possibly do about 800 miles from south to north coast but all on heavily congested roads. I'd love to do a ride like that.....one day maybe.

No better time than now! Early summer is best to avoid TOO crazy of weather on the eastern states. It'll never be perfect, just go for it 🤘

i rode 3000 miles in june 2020. i was 68 yrs old then. i plan on doing it in 2023 again. I'll be 72 then. u got time.

You haven't ridden the right roads. Nebraska has some excellent scenic roads if you get off the interstate

the most I've done in a day was 300 miles. I've got plans to do more as I'm going to be in a position where no one will be waiting for me at home soon, but cross country is a long, long way off for me and my little 883 wingmaster.

what to do when your riding in potholes on the freeway with semi trucks next to you at night? This really got me tense on my first 200 plus trip from nevada to California. Arriving at Hesperia with all the construction the freeway was in very bad shape. My shoulders were sore for about two weeks :D any advice for next trip... did you ever get sore? I rode my 2013 phantom shadow 750
Fantastic videos. I'm heading from N. Cali to Nigeria Falls, Canada side in July, then over to Maine, then back through the lower states. My first time attempting a trip across the United States at 63, I'd be interested in the route you took; it looks like Rt. 80 on the way out. Also, did you stay with friends or Airbnb? If Airbnb, which one's, were they motorcycle friendly.

Although I would love to go from NY to ÇA the trip seems so boring and seems to be just a fight throughout. I think I will let mit myself to beautiful sceneries and varied vistas, certainly not a straight trip with mega trucks. Does not seem that much firm to me. Did you enjoy it or was it just a challenge?

Living in the UK, there is no trip available to me that compares to the over 5000 miles across USA, could possibly do about 800 miles from south to north coast but all on heavily congested roads. I'd love to do a ride like that.....one day maybe.
