There’s no such thing as quick and easy. It’s either, quick or it’s easy, not both.
Since you’re here you cannot do it quick so probably best you just accept the easy method.
And for the record this is one of the best easy tutorials I have seen.

On the the second row, there is a key moment where you must turn tje cube, he doesnt stress it. Knowing, aftrr this mistake, you must go back to the beginning .
