@dvar4917 how am I a liar? It's my opinion. I'm not saying Jansen sucks. I'm just saying I prefer Kirk. Here is why. Jansen maybe faster and have a higher slugging %. But Kirk never gives up. He runs everything out even if he doesn't stand a chance. That's great incase of an overthrow. Kirk also has a better batting average. Jansen has 24 more at bats and only 4 more hits than Kirk this season. Fielding wise I prefer Kirk. Career wise Kirk is more competent. Less error per average. I'll take Kirk over Jansen anyway

Hey, as someone who nearly exclusively plays franchise mode, there are a couple things that could help you. First, the overall ratings for the prospects are their overall's at the time of being drafted, with their potential's being their "ceiling" or max potential (position players that are 18, with an overall at ~80 have a high chance at having a 99 potential). Second tip, hiring staff (both coaches and scouts) is very important. For scouts, ideally all of them should have high scouting efficiency as this helps build the players interest in signing with the team. Next, i would also recommend that you set 2 scouts (ideally with over 90 efficiency and pitcher accuracy) to scout the starting pitching position for the east, central, west, and international zones (if each zone is scouted for 7 weeks, you can scout almost every starting pitcher in the draft) and leave one scout for position players. TheAntOrtiz has a couple scouting guides on his channel. If you are wondering why you only have one scout for position players, it's because it is nearly impossible to get a good one later than the first round, meaning that basically all of your draft picks (for maximum efficiency) should be starting pitchers (besides the first round if there is a position player that you like). Keep in mind that you can trade the good pitchers that you get for any good position players that other teams may end up drafting.
Edit, If you are looking for extra outfielders, GET TRAVIS JANKOWSKI. He almost always ends up playing well over a full season, especially if you have him hitting leadoff, and playing in centerfield.

In case you ever try this again, one of the few last tips you need to know to help manage better in offseason
When you try to sign or extend players…change their roles(depending on player) and if it’s somebody you really want, make the payout “back end pay” most players gain more interest like that

Settings > user settings > mode specific > injury management > MLB only. This changes it to only notify you to make a lineup change when an mlb player gets injured. Way less notifications.

Kevin, the overall on scouting prospects is the overall they currently are. The potential range is their potential overall. Also you shouldn’t just scout 3 players and call it good. Scout positions and regions and change it like every so often once they’re fully scouted. You can also scout individual players but you’re not going to be able to scout nearly as many as when you scout a position

the game is shit cuz it doesnt know players true values and just assigns them a random rank thats not indicative of them in real life ie romanos better than 79, I gave up on trying to make franchise into something its not a long time ago, someone who clearly doesnt know the jays either like springers hurt in real life yes not in a game, you could prob go 3 months without an injury, just sounds like bias to me

Yea Franchise mode is kinda broken, when I first got.the game I did a Jays franchise and the computer accepts a Justin Turner/Alex Manoah for Bobby Witt Jr trade...in fact I think you could also get Mikhail Garcia if you included a D potential player too. It was pretty stupid.

I've noticed also that Bobby Witt is super easy to trade for in franchise. I think it's just bc of his big contract, for some reason in this game it's easier to trade for a player who just got a big contract than a player in their last year of arb. Not sure if it's still like that if you are trading with a playoff caliber team, but irl he's probably as close to untradable as you could be so this should def be changed.
If he keeps playing like this, that contract may very well be a steal

Next time try to sign some younger players with A potential and around a 80 overall to start. They are much cheaper and just as good you also have alot more control of them. And for drafting sign new and better scouts as soon as you start. You will be giving more accurate stats on them. Also for scouting use the scout position button it will scout a bunch of players at the same time.
